Played in a scramble 6/18/09 with Moneysworth and kilt1iron. Ran into Robstretch on the PPG. Hey Rob. First time at this course and it plays nicely. You think it will be a pushover, but strategically placed bunkers combined with small greens makes for a little challenge. The greens rolled nicely, but I did notice more than a few high plugs (previous hole locations that were not knitted in properly and got scalped by the mower--rookie greenskeeper, no doubt). Everything was lush: fairways, rough, and sand in good condition. We will be back.

Finally played a full 18 on #2 and had a really cool time. The conditions are in top form in time for the Pasadena Open this wknd. Greens rolled great, fairways, rough, and tee boxes were all very lush. I played #1 last week and enjoyed that as well, but I can really dig on the #2 course. It has a bad rap because its a short track but I find it more interesting and fun than its bigger brother. That said, it IS easier to score on but not any less fun. I didn't feel like I was playing my "A" game, yet still managed to shoot a few under 80. Luckily for our group we got out kinda early so we flew around the course in under 4hrs. Now is the time to play it while conditions are peak and the weather is still cool!

Played a quick round here this morning. Surprised at how so many of the greens are still sandy and bumpy. So some of the greens are super fast and some you just have to hit and hope. Finished in good time and some of the "eye candy" around the course is a real bonus. Should be in much better shape in a couple of weeks. Still fun.

COURSE 2 IS THE SHORTER COURSE OF THE TWO, SO PACE OF PLAY IS MUCH FASTER. NOT A HARD COURSE DISTANCE WISE, BUT A LITTLE MORE NARROWER. GREEN FEES ARE A LITTLE HIGH FOR STANDARD RATES, BUT TWILIGHT AND SUPER IS REASONABLE.

what can you say, it's brookside. the greens are starting to come around, but they are very bumpy. by the time the city championship rolls around, they'll be good. tee boxes are suspect and the fairways were surprising not great since it's been months that a car was parked on them.

all in all, it's a muni that let's out 5-somes! and gets A LOT of play. they have raised the rates for non-residents to $60 on the weekend, which is a rip, so get out during the week when it's a little faster to play, though still slow and pay a little less.

PLAYED SUPER TWILIGHT AND WAS ABLE TO FINISH 18(18TH HOLE WAS A LITTLE DARK). COURSE STILL RECOVERING FROM AERATION BUT GREENS STILL DECENTLY FAST GOING DOWNHILL AND SLOW GOING UPHILL. GIVE IT ABOUT 2-3 WEEKS FOR FULL RECOVERY. ITS BEEN A WHILE SINCE I PLAYED COURSE 2, BUT SEEN MANY CHANGES(BUNKERS ADDED, TREES REMOVED). THEY JUST NEED TO RENOVATE THE OLD BUNKERS TO MATCH THE LOOKS OF THE NEW BUNKERS.

Played here on an aeration discount. Course is good, very peaceful atmosphere. Greens are aerated, yet still not too bad. Course has some character, with bunkers about 230 yards out on most drives.... Continue »

Played here on an aeration discount. Course is good, very peaceful atmosphere. Greens are aerated, yet still not too bad. Course has some character, with bunkers about 230 yards out on most drives. Very flat course, with water coming into play on 1 hole, and a water channel on a few others. Green fees are going up again in July, although seems already expensive for that you get.
