Greens are still coming back, with decent speed but remaining bumpy.

On the upside, the recent aeration has knocked down the encroaching kikuyu a lot, but it is starting to make it's comeback!

Fairways have their usual bare spots and charcoal briquets/beer bottles left over from tailgaters for football season (as the course doubles as Rose Bowl parking on the weekends).

Overall typical muni conditions

Obviously the greens were punched only 9 days ago so they still need time to heal. That said, I putted fairly well on them in spite of being bumpy and slow - go figure.

The rest of the course is in good muni condition - the recent rains have helped green it up.

Needs about 2-3 more weeks before the greens are really playable again.

FYI - they punched the greens on course 2 today (9/28).

They will be doing course 1 in a month apparently.

Tee boxes in good shape overall and fairways are pretty much what you would expect for late summer (dry spots here and there but nothing too extensive).

Course fairly quiet - pace of play good.

Tee boxes in good shape overall and fairways are pretty much what you would expect for late summer (dry spots here and there but nothing too extensive).

Big issue remains with the greens: positives - they were pretty smooth and medium firm with mediumish pace. From a distance they look good, but they are all invaded with extensive clumps of thick-bladed and long kikuya runners. If you have to putt htroughit it will affect the line and speed (negatively). every green had some, some had lots (#11).

Big problem IMO.

Played on the morning of 8/11. No problem getting out, paid my money and walked to the first tee. There were a few wet spots on the course that had likely been damaged from cars parked on the course for the previous Saturday's soccer match. Otherwise the fairways were in pretty good shape for August. I didn't have a problem with the tee boxes. I was in only one trap during the round found it sufficient for this course. The greens appear to have several different varieties of grass which can greatly affect the pace and direction of putts. I also found myself fixing at least five ball marks on every green and a few of the bunkers had not been raked by a prior player.

Still, I thought that I received value for the fee paid.

Best conditioning was in the sand traps which are good and fluffy.

Play for the discount rates as the rack is not worth it.

Played Friday and Saturday here and the course is in the best shape so far this year. Greens were fast and sand was good. played in less then 4.5. Good day was had by all.

Played in a scramble on Brookside #2 Friday the 7th. I found the conditions generally to be in very nice shape. The greens on course 2 are small, quick and generally undulating. I found at times they could be a little quirky, with some subtle, localized breaks that weren't apparent in the read, but I'd just say that's part of their challenge. Conditioning-wise they were in very nice shape and quick. Fairways and rough were both good. You don't get fluffy or perched lies with this type of fairway grass, but it was in good a shape with no thin lies. Teeing grounds were very good -- flat with coverage. Can't remember a significant issue with teeing up all day. We never played out of a bunker, so I can't speak to those. While not necessarily one of my favorite designs, it is a good course and pretty popular locally. If you like it or are interested in trying it, right now conditions are probably as good as can be expected here. When not dealing with Rose Bowl parking issues, they keep the course pretty tidy. We had a very enjoyable round.
