This course plays really SLOW!! The fairways are fairly wide, but a bit hard for as much rain as we got in the last week. The rough is at a playable level. The bunkers have good quality sand and easy to get out from. The greens are firm and fast, and roll really true. I enjoyed the play, but not the pace of play.

Played 1/24. Pre-sunrise tee and 38* air temperature made for a challenging morning. While this course weathered the recent rains fairly well, signs of the storms were visible in a few spots -- a fallen tree blocked the cart path on #4 and there was standing water in a few bunkers. The fairways were dry and playable, which was good, because the rough and lots of fallen leaves made it difficult to find errant drives. The greens were in great shape, holding approach shots well with forgiving slower speed. The tee boxes were OK, no worse than other public courses. We played on a discount email coupon from AGC...not sure that I'd play this course again if I had to pay the full rack rate.

played afternoon of Oct 16. Considering it's football season, the fairways, tee boxes, and bunkers were in much better shape than I would have guessed. It was very playable. The only significant problem is the greens. They still are bumpy and full of holes, although there appears to be some healing. I know there always are a lot of complaints about Brookside, but the facility does have the best beverage cart girl in SoCal (Heidi) and the marshals did a great job today being of service to me.

well, it's brookside. tee boxes are beat up, fairways have some bare spots and the rough is inconsistent. best part really is no one, i mean no one was out there on labor day sunday and we had a huge email discount. we had the entire course to ourselves, so no matter how lousy the conditions, it was fun when you've got the place to yourself. i've seen brookside 10 times worse, so if you've got the opportunity to get out during the week and you're not expecting the best conditions, then you'll have a great time.

Played at 2:00 today in 100 degree heat. That probably explains why I finished in 2:15. Went out as a single and played through 3 other groups. The course is decent if you get a good rate, it is for sure not worth the posted rates. Tee boxes were good with a lot of hacker damage on the par 3s. Fairways were for the most part green with some dry areas. Greens were medium/fast leaning toward fast. Fairly smooth with some unrepaired divots.

Played the course on Friday 8/14/09. Had an early AM tee time, so pace of play was excellent. Tee boxes were in good shape. There are some bare spots on the fairways which should be addressed. Greens were in good shape, a little bumpy but receptive. Not a long course, but challenging in that you have to place your ball in the right position to give yourself a clear shot at the green. Greens are small and well protected by bunkers. Stay below the pin or the downhill putts are fast and tricky.

For some reason the course looked as if it hadn't been watered in weeks. There were many bare spots throughout the course, sometimes right in the middle of the fairways. It looked like the course is having some construction done on it as there were some large mounds of dirt in between trees and many of the sand traps had at least a two feet of grass removed around the edge. The greens were over watered. Three times with a short iron my ball made a divot the size of the ball and didn't come out on the green. The pace of play was HORRIBLE. There was a twosome walking in-front of us and they had a fivesome riding in-front of them. We started at 8:00 a.m. and ended at 12:20 p.m. I saw a marshall three times while all three times we were waiting at the tee box for the twosome in front of us and the foursome behind us were also waiting with us on the tee box and all three times they said nothing to the groups ahead. Luckly I booked my tee time on a discount website, because if I had to pay Brookside's ridiclous green fees at full price I would have been even more upset. Anyone who is thinking about playing at Brookside make sure you play course #1 as generally they take better care of #1 over #2. LET'S HOPE SO!

PLayed here last weekend on a saturday. Overall its just not worth the $. I got it at a discounted rate for $60 and it still wasn't worth it. IMO the course was maintained equal or worse than a city/muni course but they want twice the price. Greens were not not bad, fairways were horrible. IMO unless you can get on here for $30-$40 then find another course.
