Played Sat. morning with some buds, we got around in 4:40 a bit slow, $27/walking. Course a bit better than last week due to cooler temps and some dew and water on the course. Greens rolled good but are very firm. Still bare in the rough, many areas.

The drought is as obvious as the nose on my face at LV, sorry to report, and conditions are going downhill fast. Isolated watering is barely keeping the fairways green, mostly just firm and yellow. No rough, just pine needles on hard pan. Tee balls will run wherever the lowest point on the course decides to let it stop, especially on the holes with side hill lies. Bunkers weren't too bad if your ball didn't find an un-raked footprint which are plenty. Many courses are suffering right now ... since LV is atop hard soil and doesn't hold water anyway, it's probably drier than most muni's. Surprisingly, the Poa greens are still in decent shape. Not recommended, play at your own risk ... and pray for rain, lots of it.

I haven't played this course in a while, so I thought I would try. I know the good tee times are hard to come by, so I was surprised to find a 10:20 am tee time on Saturday morning. It was crowded as I remember, and we didn't tee off until 10:45 am. After 9 holes, I knew why I haven't played this course. It took 3 hours and 30 minutes to play front 9 - yes, a 7 hour round pace. It picked up a little in the back, so we were able to finish in 6 hours and 15 minutes. It wasn't the fact that they had inserted a single to our group to make it a five-some that made it so slow, there was just NO marshall to get people to play at a pace they should. I don't care how scenic this place is, there is no course that's worth spending 6+ hours to play a round of golf. I will NOT return to this course any time soon.

I love playing the course. The greens were fabulous as always... some areas on the fairway were getting a little thin but that's expected for winter + kikuya grass... tee boxes look way better and I love the new redesign with the lighter/better sand... i love the color...

gr8 experience and I would definitely come again... i wish this course and/or the employees were at every american golf location... some of the other locations are all about money and spitting out golfers every 10 minutes which jacks up the golfing experience...

Played here for the second week in a row. Conditions similar to last week, course plays very fast and firm. The greens are very quick, to the point that if you "short side" yourself or get on the wrong side of the hole, it is nearly impossible to stop the ball.

Teed off at 7am, and took just under 4 1/2 hours to finish, 30 min longer than last week with the same start time ????? Perfect weather !!!! Hard to believe 80+ degrees in December and clear as a bell. Wish the golf was as good as the weather

The greens are as good as they get right now. Just fantastic fast poa greens. Of course, I played early today so I can not say what they are like later. They are pretty firm though so I would be surprised if they were not good then. On 18 today, one of our players almost putted off the green from 30' away, going 20 feet past the pin where there was a drop off.

The course is otherwise playing fast and firm. The fairways and rough are cut pretty short. Some tight lies on the fairways and some bare spots although I was not in any. The relatively new sand in the bunkers is really nice. Was surprised on 16, in the fairway bunker on the left about 100 yards out, to find beach sand. I thought it had all been switched out. Otherwise, the sand was very good. The tee boxes were okay. Flat and shaved although the ground was very firm.

The course was on time and the service was good. The beverage cart came around when we were on 16, so it started about 10:00 or so. The views were spectacular. Great day on the links.

Played today in 4 hours. Course is dry and fairways are hard. Not quite sure were your ball might end up, if you hit an errant shot. But if you hit the fairway you will be rewarded with a great shot. Tee boxes are level and clean and some are even providing softer ground for the tee. Bunkers were clean, raked and in excellent shape. Greens were fast and firm and in great shape. Great customer service and loved the marshal dragging players out of the coffee shop and telling them they were on the tee. Views were spectacular today. You could see Santa Cruz island off the coast of Santa Barbara, in addition to a great view of Catalina.

Have not played here since they made the changes. Removal of several bunkers probably was smart to speed up play, but I guess because I'm old, don't like change ! Overall the course was in very nice ... Continue »

Overall the course was in very nice condition, really as nice as I can remember it being. Some of the greens were super quick downhill, I suspect because the grass has not grown much in the past few days.

Because of the extreme cold, decided that this would be one of the few courses open in the early AM because of frost. While it was cold, (About 40 degrees) there was no frost. Was able to get around in 4 hours 2 min, which for Los Verdes is excellent.

Out very early Sunday at LV, got around in 4.5 hours with quite a bit of waiting on the front 9, $36/walking. Really have to say that, sorry, the course is NOT in good shape at all: dry, firm, and scruffy in the fairways and the rough is super hardpan ... every ball hit off the fairway was running out big time. The Kikuyu grass is a mixed bag when it begins its dormancy and that begins about this time of year. Poa greens are fine, LV's saving grace. Bunkers were not maintained today so they were a bit heavier than usual with unraked footprints. Not the best I've played it but the views were spectacular.
