The Valley course is the longer and more straight forward of the 2. Good customer service. They tend your bag as you arrive and the Starter will lead you to the first tee and offer you tees, markers, and wet towels. The tee boxes were flat but had good amount of damages to them. However, you won't have any issue looking for a good spot to hit from. The fairways were lush and didn't have any brown spots or thin area. The rough surrounding the fairways were dormant and very dry. Some areas had decent lies, but others were very thin. Huge contrast between the fairways and the rough. The greens were still recovering from aeration. They were bumpy and slow. Pace of play was great. Finished 2 rounds in about 7 hours. Given the choice, I believe Mountain is in better shape now. At lease until they aerate the greens there as well.

Second round of the day today was on Valley. I didn't get any break at all between rounds, but it was good to get back out quickly. Played with a twosome, who left after nine and then I joined another twosome ahead for the back. Back nine went slower once we caught up to groups ahead, but still around a 4:15 pace overall.

From tee to green, the conditions on Valley mirror that of Mountain right now. Green fairways with pretty fluffy grass throughout. Fairways were a little more consistent on Valley, though. Dormant rough that was inconsistent. Sometimes clumpy, sometimes thin. Bunkers had good sand, but you could see the tarp underneath coming up on many of the greenside bunkers and they were starting to get pretty tattered. The greens are still recovering from aeration, so they are pretty bumpy. Very firm and hard to hold/read, too.

I had fun out at Robinson Ranch today with 36 holes. Valley plays longer than Mountain, but it's definitely more open off the tee on most holes. There are still many tight spots and uncomfortable angles, though. A few funky holes and some good risk/reward options. A number of holes with big oak trees in the middle of fairways to torment you. Good elevation changes and scenery to keep things interesting. Very tricky greens and some tough pin placements today made them extra challenging, especially when they are so firm. Tough, but fun and enjoyable track on all levels. I look forward to playing RR again when conditions are at their best, hopefully in time for the GK event there soon.

The greens on the Valley Course were punched last week with small tines and sanded. However, they putted surprisingly well considering their condition. They did bounce around a bit but were still retaining some speed. Rest of the course is in very good condition. The Bermuda rough is dormant. The wind can really get ripping this time of year. Customer service is always great.

Played here Sunday for the first time. We only played 9 holes because the wind was just too brutal, 20 mph with gusts to 35. Have to say it is a very nice course in a nice setting. Showed up early, restaurant doesn't open until 11 but snack bar has good breakfast there. Was offered twice to tee off early. Everyone is very nice and professional here. I cam really tell being a business owner and having been a big box retail manager for a lot of years that this is a very well run place and people seemed to genuinely enjoy working there. Course is very nice. Greens are fantastic. Fast but not blazing, consistent on every hole. Fairways in pretty good shape and really enjoy courses with dormant rough. The tan/green contrast is gorgeous and makes your aim points very easy. That said, my only major gripe is that they have a yardage card they gave me but it only had a few yardages and they were from the point to the green, not from tee box to that point. I found myself actually hitting too far most tee shots or having a good fairway shot just roll into the brush. It would be nice to have a better gauge, especially for us first timers. Sand was decent in the one greenside I was in and just hard and rocky in the first fairway bunker. Most greenside ones looked decent though. Slope rating is high and this is not a course to hack it around at, but its average length, under 6100 white. Would like to play again with less wind now that I see better what I was supposed to be aiming at.

Very tough conditions today. Very windy and very cold with patches of black ice on many of the cart paths even into the early afternoon. Fairways in relatively good shape despite the cold winter weather. Rough is dormant burmuda. Greens extremely hard, but will hold good approaches. Greens were running very fast, but true. Greenside bunkers had soft, relatively fine sand. Given the windy conditions, the course was playing even more narrow than normal. Easy to lose balls if not prefectly struck. Overall, the course is in as good condition as one could expect at this time of year.

Played the Valley course on 1/4/2013. The course is in very good condition. Tee boxes, fairways and greens are in excellent shape. The greens were quite fast, particularly on downhill putts. They rolled very well. Nice and smooth. This is a great time to play this course.

Currently, good conditions on the Valley Course. It is still cart path only. The fairways were in very good condition. The rough is beginning to go dormant and is cut very tight, so your ball will roll through it into the scrub or hazards. The greens are nearly completely healed and rolled well. Bunker sand around greens was good, but fairway bunkers are really just hard pan. Tee boxes are lush. Some tees are a bit unlevel, but not too terrible; you may have to pick your spot carefully on some holes.
