Always a wonderful experience playing Trump National. Played 8/24 in the afternoon after a short layover in LA beeing not far from my Hotel in Torrance.
Had the chance to play for a rate lower then their rack rate (maybe excessive for the course).
Layout is challenging and conditions are almost pristine, still some brown areas on the fairways but almost not perceivable. Greens are perfect as the fluffy white sand on their bunkers. Of course golf cart are provided with GPS.
Ocean vistas from the golf course are among the best you can get in SoCal.
I love their driving range with free golf balls for you practice.
If you can find a deal a course you can't miss.

Weather was perfect. Started a little overcast but around noon it burnt off and the sun came out.

Tee boxes were in ok condition. A lot of divots filled w sand. Fairways , some parts were brown and dead/ burnt. Didn't expect this at a coastal course. Greens were in very good shape other than some par 3's with a lot of ball marks.

We were able to play for $100. Anything over that NOT WORTH IT

Course layout was a little weird. Definitely target golf.

Would I play again ? No

I understand that you are paying partially for the ocean views but at $280 green fees the course should be immaculate

Was invited to play Trump today and could not have asked for a better day to play. Conditions today (weather/course) were fantastic. Of course we all know the setting of this course is great, but everything else was top drawer today as well. This is not a course that rewards slices/hooks. One needs to keep the ball in play and keep their concentration, throughout the round. Fairways; greens and traps were excellent. Speed of greens was very close to the practice green, which helped and without any wind at all, the course was very playable. The maintenance staff had the course in wonderful condition. From tee box to green, it was perfect. It goes without saying the staff knows how to treat all customers as members, whether you are or not. Wonderful practice facilities and top notch restaurant as well. If you have the chance/opportunity to play here, by all means do so.

Played on 12/28 and the day was post card quality. Mid 60's and nothing but sunshine and blue ocean. The course was well maintained and the staff was friendly. Bring extra balls because the course features several holes with narrow fairways and some water features. The holes are essentially stacked in a few rows down a hillside overlooking the Pacific Ocean and the views are fabulous on almost every hole. This stacking, however, is what leads to the tighter than average fairways and steep hills at their sides from which an errant shot will not be easily recovered. Greens were a bit slower than expected, but rolled very true and held approach shots well. If you prefer a links course as opposed to a target course experience, this may not be the course for you.

The pro shop and food service facilities were nice. The lockeroom was a bit weird in that you need a code to get in and there are no lockers for use, however I gather that the reason for the code is that the course is required to allow the public use of certain pathways and beach access points while also providing restroom facilities. This code keeps those folks from wandering into the club lockeroom for a quick shower and shave!

I don't think the place is worth $275, but if you can get on for sub $200 it is probably worth the experience. The course wasn't exceptional enough that I'll be back any time soon at these prices, but I am glad that I played it and had the experience. It is what it is, a course for vacationers and those looking for a round with a better view than the one normally afforded by their home course.

Played cyber monday. Green fee $35. Service average. Fairways too hairy but healthy. Greens slow running 9. Bunkers perfect. Needs to be cut down and then it becomes worth it. My opinion the correct price point is $150 not $275. Recommended at right price.

Trump National. 3 out of 10. How this course is so highly rated was beyond all of us. The golf writers must be very favoured towards Mr Trump given all the awards it has received. Its time someone told the truth! We paid $102 and even at that that we felt we were robbed! Anyone who payed $275 should sue under the trade description act. The course was is poor condition even allowing for over seeding etc. Some of the fairways were very bad with bare patches galore. Yes you do see the ocean but so what. A good walk will give you that. The only hole that we really enjoyed was the 17th. My group were not pleased. I appeased them by telling them to look forward to the 5 star showering facilities. Another great disappointment. A cramped changing room and a couple of showers. The only 5 star i would give this was the dining afterwards - this was very good. Members of GK should rate this course as it should be rated by personal experience - not by what Mr Trump says! Cost of golf $ 102

Played on 11/6...Trump National is currently under maintance and they are overseeding the fairways. Greens have just been aerated and now are in perfect conditions.
Due to the overall present conditions I am not rating it.
Cart path only until 11/30, not an easy way to play the Trump.
Beside that is always a pleasure to play 18 holes with amazing ocean views on this spectacular golf course.
Green Fee rate until the end of November is $150 (regular $275 from 12/1) but you can find great deals on ezlinks (I paid $69).
If you want to experience the Trump at very low rate do it now, but if you want to play it on pristine conditions just wait another month.

This course is visually outstanding. Played with my son and nephew and had a great time. Cart paths were a little tough to follow but overall experience was great. Fairways need water and some work especially for the price. Would go back tomorrow and play nevertheless, if only I could afford it.
