Played early with some friends. Was not so much excited about playing, more about spending time with my buds. Course was in so-so shape, about what I expected. Truth is, greens were better than expected, but the general overall condition was not as good as when I last played here a couple years ago. Since I was not too focused on the golf, conditions did not really bother me. Had a good time. Course does provide some fun holes, but nothing special. Just glad the heat broke, and we did not have to suffer thru the high temps.

Played a few times so far this summer and have been really disappointed. I grew up playing here and loved it but it has gone down hill hard in the past few years. The lakes are cover in scum and algae which has a putrid smell. I used to be able to play for super cheap at times and now I see them charging $70 on the weekend. Even the weekdays have been pretty hefty price for what you’re getting. Hopefully they take the $70 green fees and put some money into making this course fairly enjoyable again

Looking to play some place close, inexpensive, and whose greens have not yet been aerated. David Baker filled the bill. When I made a 6:00am tee time, knowing it would be pitch black out, you can imagine my surprise when I arrived at the course before 6 to learn groups have been teeing off for some time. (They open at 5:00am) Played the first 6-7 holes in the dark, slowly so I would not catch the other groups.

The greens were the best part of the course by far, although way too slow for my taste. Fairways were not great, many thin areas. Found one bunker. Not yet maintained. Sand what there was of it was compacted. Tee boxes, as you might expect were terrible. Not level, bare spots, etc.

The staff was great and despite the less than great conditions, I had a good time and was happy with my selection of where to play. (Had not been here for a long time, so I did not have a great recall of the course) They will be punching greens starting tomorrow 10/18/21.

I played DLB today. Because this is the only course that never closed during the quarantine, it had been nearly impossible to get a tee time for the last month. Once I found out that they post the next batch of tee times every night at midnight, I went online at that time last week and was able to get today’s time. Of course, now that other courses are finally open it should be much easier to get a tee time. I arrived 30 minutes early and they sent me right out.

They are requiring all rounds be pre-paid online and are walking only. They will not pair up anyone with other singles. Cups are inverted and all rakes, ball washers and benches have been removed. Masks are not required.

The course conditions were really, really good- actually the best I’ve ever seen there. Holes 6-9 needed some mowing but considering how lush and well groomed all the other holes where, I figured they were to be taken care of next. The fairways were green and the rough was about 2-3 inches long, thick and uniform around the course. I wasn’t in any bunkers but they looked fine. The greens were soft, smooth and rolled medium speed.

I thoroughly enjoyed playing today. It was so quiet and relaxing. POP was 2:45 and I beat my course best score by 8 strokes. I love golf!

I played this morning with a 9:37am tee time. I called just an hour or so prior to see if I could get on. He said yes, as long as I was walking. They had no carts available as they were requiring one person per cart. Upon arrival, I was a bit surprised how busy the place appeared to be. The range was packed with people lining up waiting for a stall. Check in was very smooth and friendly considering the changes in routine. Payments are credit card only and hand sanitizer was available on the counter. I told the guy that I was planning to walk, but something was wrong with my push cart. He said ‘no problem’ and loaned me what I think may be his personal cart. He brought it out of the office and it was a very nice one, not the barebones rickety ones in front of the pro shop. That was so much appreciated.

From what I could see, there were several four- and five- somes playing and for the most part everyone seemed to be keeping a good distance from each other. I was paired with another walking single and off we went. The conditions were really pretty good. When I was taking mental notes for purposes of this review I kept thinking things like “the tee boxes are shaggy… but I don’t care… I’m so happy to be out here!” Other than a few muddy spots, the fairways were green with good coverage and cushion. I wasn’t in any bunkers but they appeared fine. The greens were smooth (other than the usual number of unrepaired ball marks) and rolled a medium speed. There was a ring of PVC pipe in the cup to keep the ball elevated.

I had a fun time and played well. They couldn’t say if or when they will close but I wouldn’t hesitate to play again as long as they are open.

Looking for a change of pace and not wanting to travel too far, out early on a colder than expected morning. It's nice to play these shorter courses, particularly when you're struggling with your game. You still have to hit the shots, otherwise even these little courses will humiliate you.

Conditions were decent. Most of the greens were smooth and had reasonable speed. Fairways were a mix of nice and not so nice. Nothing really too bad about the course, except maybe the tee boxes which were kind of beat up, but could always find a spot. Truth is, it was a fun quick inexpensive three hours of no stress golf - just what I was looking for.

Tee boxes are kind of uneven, lot of par 3s and short par 4s so it’s kind of hard to avoid that. Always a fun track, not a bad price especially during the week days

My last experience with the course a regular on my rota had been horrible, as it was a swamp, and mud pit, despite the absence of any recent rain. Today found the course in good winter condition. Pro shop staff were friendly and helpful.
The course seems to showing signs of financial weakness. I would say that at full 3/4ths of the mats on the driving range feature rips and tears. I was fortunate enough to find one of the few intact, but with a slight divot from use. Restroom needed attention, as did the porta johns on the back nine (at my age you notice this stuff). The practice green was in very good shape, however not representative of those on course in terms of cut. The practice green was cut tight, the greens on course that will punched in two weeks were a little shaggy.
The course did provide filled sand bottles at the turn for those of us that care about fixing divots.
The starter offered to get us out early which was appreciated as we were playing on a $24 Golf Now round with cart, and the time seven minutes before us had listed at $31. The round still took about 3.5 hours to play.
The cart is basic, and clean with comfortable seats., and the sand bottles were full.
My friend and I played from the blues. Most tees with the exception of #3 played back, a couple were at the tips, something I have seen at this course before. It was a very different look.
Weather was overcast, and around 70 degrees, little breeze on the front nine, slightly stronger on the back nine. Just a really nice day to get a round in before a predicted week of rain. Squirrels and ducks are in abundance, and happy to come up to you and beg. I didn’t have anything and actually had one squirrel try to block my way a couple of times well putting a paw out. If you bring food, don’t leave it lying around the cart or in an open pocket.
Tee boxes were slightly unlevel with some signs of wear, and unrepaired divots. Still very playable. Fairways were winter grass conditions with excellent coverage. Fairway rough was largely nonexistent. About three to four inches around the greens and bunkers. Bunkers looked in good condition, I wasn’t in one so can’t speak from immediate experience.
Greens were my issue for the round. Nothing wrong with greens themselves, there were a couple with minor bare spots, and most featured molted grass, but rolled well. The main issue was that they were shaggy. The practice green had been mown, but the greens on course had not, likely due to the weekends rain, and the pending punching. As mentioned the ball rolled well, but I couldn’t bring myself to hit it firm enough leaving a number of puts short.

Where my last round left me unhappy, upset, and not wanting to come back to a course I play dozens of times per year, today’s round put the course back on my map. That alone makes me happy I played here.

Played for the first time in months, got out as a single w/o a tee time with no issue. Cold and windy but still a fun round. Always a fun course and worth the green fee. Solid practice facility too.
