Played this course a little while back. Have to say the layout is kind of strange. It's sometimes hard trying to figure out where the heck you are supposed to go. Fairways were not in the best of condition and the view of garbage in the empty riverbed was not the most scenic view. BIGGEST + of this course are the greens. There were in great condition and the practice putting green was amazing. It's never a problem to get a tee time so I would consider this a back-up course only if I had beginners with me.

Played 3/26. 5-hour round on a Sunday. This course has potential, but falls short. Challenging layout, many risk/reward opportunities, and good condition of greens. As stated in other reviews, fairways are dry and poorly maintained. Tee boxes need to be better maintained (less pebbles). For the layout and elevated greens, accurate fairway yardage markers will make the challenges on approach shots more fair and less trickery and local-knowledge-reliant.

While their claim to fame is great greens, I agree, however, I would not care to come back here even if it was free! I thought the course was unfair and Micky Mouse. Narrow tight faiways on both side of the river/flood control. Every shot rolls right right to left with the slope of the land. Some fairways are nothing more than chunks of dirt. On the 17th hole a parent and his child were walking the course for fun! We thought we might hit them until the marshall made them leave. This couse was like my worst date as a teenager, couldn't wait to go home!!

Played sat.2/25/06 at noon. As always good pace of play (4h 1/2m) being weekend. Greens as always are strong favor fact in river view.Consistant medium fast speed ,rolling true & well receptive.But this time I found out their fairways too dry (dormant or dead?) & thin.Even river water level was low, some part showing sand bottom in consequence forgived some sliced shots. Fun course for the value.

Might want to where a helmet at this course. I almost got nailed twice. Pace of play was slow in the front nine but I think because the 1rst hole is a short par 4 follwed by 2 par 3's.

This is NOT a scenic golf course. I would advise against taking out of town guests here to show off the beauty of southern California. In my mind, the plywood bridges across the "river" are worth the price of admission, but what do I know? Also, I rolled in at 10:30 on a Sunday and easily got 18 holes in in the OC. Where else can you do that?
As for the course..."She ain't pretty, but she gets the job done." Most of the holes force you to play either conservatively or aggresively, and the risk/reward factor is probably more clear here than any other course I have played. The greens are almost all elevated, the par 5s are short, and the greens are very good. If you hit it long and straight
you'll make lots of birdies. Crooked is bad.
This is my new "last resort" option...unless it rains.

Played 11/23/05, this course is a piece. about 4 hours for the front nine. Almost all greens are 40 feet above fairways, water runs through middle of course, fairways/marsh-ways are nasty, course runs along "little mexico." paid 18 bucks still way overpriced. Pay 19 at fullerton. Overall this is the worst course ive played.

Played here on Saturday 11/12. Brought a couple of beginners with me. This course was the only one around that we can get on. The customer service here is very good. The course condition is average at best. Some of the holes on this course play very difficult due to the river, especially when you don't really know where to hit safely. I discovered that in some areas, the safe landing area is only about 15 - 20 yards wide. The greens are decent. A little tricky because you have to hit your putt hard enough to get through some of the bumpy spots. Not a bad place to play if you want to get out last minute.
