Got to the course at 5:45 and got out at 6:15. Ray in the pro shop is one of the best in S CA when it comes to customer service. POP was a great 3.5 hours. Took advantage of their birthday special. Great deal on a very good course. Tee boxes; fairways; greens all in great shape. The greens had great speed to them and held shots very well. In my opinion SJH is one of the best venues in S CA and one that any golfer of any ability would enjoy. I especially enjoy having # 9 and # 18 as par 3's. If you have not played here, I highly recommend that you find time to play here.

Played 5-14 on a golfnow special , some of the greens were slow and bumpy and showed
signs of recovery from being punched. Was 90 degrees that day and never saw a cart girl. customer service was mediocre overall at best. The course itself is fun not overly difficult , most of the greens are well guarded by sand , the sand was hard in most areas. pace of play was decent about 4 hours with an 11 o'clock tee off, and they have a great sports bar, I would say this is a good muni course for $45 dollars . I would play here again for that price but not a penny more.

Played a 3-ball at SJH Sunday, 1:44 tee time, $50 green fee w/cart. PoP a bit slow as expected, finished in 5 hrs with a bit of waiting here and there. Course in decent shape, fairways and rough a bit spotty and dry, typical muni type. Greens still showing signs of aeration and rolling quite fast, had to be very carefull on anything down or side hill. Layout is some steep up and down, thru homes and some parallel fairways, a few water hazzards ... some interesting holes, as well. Walkable, but there are a few holes which there is 2-3 min. journey to the next tee. There are several short par 4's so it can be easy to run up a long iron or fairway metal when the wind is at your back. Overall, nice but windy day at SJH ... btw: great 19th hole, friendly staff ... worth the green fee for a Sat afternoon in the OC. Also, a good ego course. Recommended.

Even though the greens are currently going through heavy maintenance, I decided to play San Juan Hills today. It was my first time on this course, and I had a pleasant time. I think once the greens are healed, there's a good chance I'll return. I joined a couple regulars and they said the greens are usually very nice. The course is short. I had wedges into every par 4. This track is very forgiving.

We took advantage of the email special and teed off early AM. POP 3.5. Course is in very nice shape, especially the greens. They held shots and putted online with excellent speed. Fairways were receptive but did show some thin spots in some areas. While it was damp/overcast the course still played exceptionally well. Though some bunkers needed tending and more sand. This course always provides excellent customer service in all areas of operation. I see they plan on aerating early April so go soon if you are wanting to play here.

I played SJH on Sunday, Feb. 10 on a clear and cool day. I used a voucher that I got for $42 which included green fees with cart, range balls, and a $5 food credit. At this rate, the course was well worth it but the rack rate is somewhat overpriced IMO. There is a large driving range across the street from the club house with a small practice area for chipping and bunker shots. The practice putting greens are located near the 1st tee and compare well with the pace out on the course. The staff here was great. From the gentleman in the pro shop, to the starter, to the girl working the grill at the turn, they were all nice and friendly. The cart girl was equally nice and came around several times. The pace of play was fairly slow on the front 9 with a slow group in front of us. The marshal did eventually come around and definitely improved things. The forgiving course is moderate in length with some very interesting holes. The greens were soft and receptive and on certain holes, if you were above the hole, it was difficult to lag close. Although many of the greens were marked up pretty good, they rolled well. The fairways, tee boxes, and rough were patchy with lots of divots. I'd say the course was in typical muni conditions....not greatly maintained but definitely playable. I also am not a big fan of finishing holes that are par 3s. The one definite negative was my friend got sick from the hot dog he got at the turn and had to quit early. The 19th hole is a great place to hangout and enjoy a few beers after the round. This course is not a must play but is probably one of the better overall values in OC.

Had a very nice weekend morning round here as the winter weather turned a little warmer. As usual, the folks here were very nice, and it is hassle free to play using a GroupGolfer voucher.

The course was generally in excellent shape. The greens seemed especially fast today, certainly as fast as I have seen them lately. There were a few holes where the fairways were pretty brown, which seems odd given the rain this winter, but the course played OK. San Juan Hills is one of my favorite OC courses, given the combination of playability, challenge, views, service, and price.

This is my home track and I love it. It can be hard and easy and plays different almost every week. SJH has a fantastic men's club and the outings and tourneys are a blast. everyone from the pro shop to the starter to the cart girl to the restaurant staff make this place a great every week course for me. As for the course the greens are some of the best around and the fairways have come a long way in the last two years. They just graded the tee boxes and event though they still need a little help there it is much better. Still the best value in south orange county.

Hadn't played here in about 2 years due to among other things the condition of the fairways. Things have changed. First the tee boxes: some bare spots but overall in very good shape. The fairways were again very good, one had some ground under repair but, compared to the last time I played there, showed a vast improvement. The greens were firm but held my occasional good shots, putts rolled true but come on guys fix your ball marks. Only was in the sand twice for a change but sand was consistent. Staff was excellent from club house to starter to ranger. Pace of play was good-4 1/2 hours. Definite repeat.
