Played Sat. 11/19. Our 4some had a great day. Course is in great shape. Only thing I could see to improve were the tee boxes... a bit uneven. Greens rolled great. The whole staff was really friendly. The drink cart girl was never too far away and very nice. It was about a five hour round. But today was such a great day it didnt matter. I highly reccomend playing here. I will again thats for sure.

Played this course on 11/15. This was the last week of cart path only so the fairways were a little long. The greens are in good shape. A little faster than they look. This course is slowly getting better over the past couple of years. The staff is friendly. The beverage cart comes around every few holes. Definitely worth the money. Sad to say that San Juan Hills will not be part of the Golf Extra courses next year.

This course is in great condition, the greens are rolling great. I like this layout it has many different features to always keep you on your toes. You will find many different lies here (uphill, downhill, ball below feet, etc.) The twilight deal is one of the best around. Played a fast round and actually finished my round with time to spare to sunset. Two of the guys I played with said it is hard to get a 4 hour round here, usually 5 hr. plus is the norm. Staff was cool, they do need to update their GPS, it is old school.

Played the back 9 on Tuesday morning 11/15/2005. It was pretty cold at sunrise but warmed up quickly. Saw some guys teeing off on the front at a few minutes past 6am. Dudes were sprinting up the fairway! LOL. SJH is great about getting you out really early if you are pressed for time. The starter is one of the nicest guys I have ever dealt with at any course.

The course is pretty thick right now, lots of growth from the overseeding. Heaviest rough I have seen in my 3 years of playing here - but still very well groomed and no real muddy spots to deal with. Fairways in very very good condition.

The staff has done about all they can do to get the greens in top shape. They were rolling true and were pretty much perfect with one exception - ball marks!!

I counted 5 on one hole that were just simply left unpatched! Come on people - I have to putt over those things and I never get it close so it really affects my game. Unless they hire kids to sit by the green and fix the ballmarks for us, it won't ever get better. Fix your ballmarks - don't be lazy! Didn't your Grampa teach you when you were a kid?

Bunkers were pristine with new sand. Trust me - I was in 3 of them.

Tee boxes in above average condition. Probably my only complaint with SJH is the tee boxes. They are usually pretty beat up and bumpy, not to mention slanted in many cases. [Are they trying to make me slice it into those houses down there!?]. They did a ton of work over the last 3 months to try and improve the tee boxes and it shows. I know they completely redid 16, they also had 13 and 14 closed for a while. All are back in production and seem to be holding up much better.

18bucks to walk 9 holes, finished by 830am and then fly in to work. A great deal. If you are dying to play, but have no time - this is the best "dawn patrol" deal in orange county.

I will definitely be back - we play there 2-4 times per month.

Played 11-15-05. Course was in very good shape. This course has made so many improvements in the last several years. Greens were in better shape than the last time we played, about 6 months ago. Just a fun course to play! The only downside was when we got there we were told cart path only because of overseeding. Was not told that when we made the tee time. I guess you have to ask each and every time you call for a tee time to make sure there are no special playing conditions......UGH! No matter what course you call or the time of year. Cart path only is supposed to last only for a few mores days, so beware if it makes a difference to you.

First time playing the course, but played with a San Juan veteran who said that this course just keeps getting in better and better condition. Great course with fun holes and good variety of lengths.

I did not think the course was in “Great” condition as stated but still worth the green fee. I will be back.
