Out early not only to beat the heat, but also to get ahead of the course closure due to the 2 day "Windmill Classic". As expected the course was in very nice condition, with green speeds a bit quicker than typical. Green still very receptive. Fairways have great coverage, yet remain "tight" Overall the condition is very good, which means is typical because beginning October 5th, they will be closing the course for about one month to over seed and aerate the greens.

While I appreciate this is a needed to maintain the good conditions, that means we will have over 1000 members vying for just one course with limited tee time availability and shorting daylight.

Because of a change in policy, after over 30 years, I am no longer permitted to tee off at "first light". First tee time is now 7am ! With the heat and no water provided on the course, it makes walking an impracticality. So I'm now using a cart, which I do not prefer. I really enjoy walking !

Course conditions are very good, except for the tee boxes, which they will address next week, when they close the course again for a week for maintenance. Seems like one course is always closed now ? I guess that's the price of improved conditioning ? Greens roll well, and are quite receptive. Fairways have good coverage and while "tight" are very playable. Once the tee boxes are improved, course will again look like it used too.

First round back on the South Course since they punched/sanded the fairways. Holes 7 thru 12 had previously been completed, and they are wonderful, but holes 1-6 and 13 - 18 were finished last week. They are simply awful ! I'm confident that in a month, they'll be just fine, but for now, it is simply not fun to play from them. Zero roll, more sand than grass, and what grass that exits, is just tuffs surrounded by sand. It think it is cart path only right now, but since I walk and get out so early, I seldom see any other golfers, so don't really know?

Greens rolled great. Very receptive. Bunkers have been better, still plenty of sand, but somewhat compacted. Otherwise course is in decent shape.

With the North course continuing to be closed, the South course is getting hammered with all the play, and a never ending stream of four carts in a group, foursome after foursome, yet the fairways are holding up remarkably well, in fact are in better shape than they have been pre-covid-19 ? Greens rolling well and very receptive. Bunkers are excellent (When raked ) The only issue remains the tee boxes. Some are good, some need attention.

They are making some subtle improvements and changes to the course, but nothing which actually affects playability. Just visual enhancements.

With the North course remaining closed, I've been playing the South course about five times a week. Looking forward to the North reopening in early June. Given that most everyone takes a cart ( I am one of the few walkers) and that means four carts per tee time, the course has held up really well under all that traffic. Greens roll well, rough is decent, and the bunkers, although somewhat compacted, are still good. Far and away the worst part of the course is the tee boxes. They need serious attention. I understand once the North opens next month, they will be closing the South for quite a while to redo all the green surrounds, at a cost of another $1,000,000.00 Rumor is they may rebuild all 18 greens as well. Hope not because will close the course for a long long time.

With the North course being closed until the end of May, because they are redoing the green surrounds. (At cost of $1,000,000.00) Don't know how they can afford to do that given the current circumstances with no $$ coming in?. South course greens are just about healed from the March punching.. Still very slow compared to normal. No pins yet, but I was told they would be in tomorrow. Fairways are really nice, bunkers could be nice, but without rakes, unfair to judge. Tee boxes were just punched and sanded Monday, so while they look bad, they play just fine.

Walking only, which is my normal anyway. As previously mentioned, no rakes, tee markers, ball washers, pins, drinking water, etc. Lots of "non-golfers" out there just strolling around with their dogs, children, etc. These are different times for sure !

When I went to bed last evening, didn't expect to play Sunday, but woke up to no rain, so trying to find some "normal" back in my life, out first as usual. Again, nobody around ?

When I went to bed last evening, didn't expect to play Sunday, but woke up to no rain, so trying to find some "normal" back in my life, out first as usual. Again, nobody around ?

Course has really improved because of the recent rains. Green, lush, receptive greens, nice fairways. A pleasure to play. They will be closing the South course starting 3/23 for two weeks for maintenance, so was happy to get a chance to play before that happens. With the forecast next week looking questionable, got to play when you can !

As always, out pre-dawn on a super cold morning. (38 degrees ) To my surprise and delight, they did not issue a frost delay, despite the fact there was a lot of frost ? Fairways are dormant, so I was advised that walkers do not really damage the grass and as long as the greens are not frozen, we're good to go.

Due to the conditions, extra roll out on the drives, but the downside was that the greens were so firm and fast, very tough to get ANY shot to stop. I would guess some of the green speeds were in excess of 12+. Bunkers still in great shape, but many are getting too firm and need to be addressed. Rough and many of the green surrounds also need attention, but I'm hoping once the weather warms up, those too will be addressed ?

Tee'd off at 12:26 today with Itslikeimsaying, Gregholla, and Hillary today using clubcorp play away/ I had a certificate for a free guest fee for mark and he was charged $21 for the cart fee and I was charged $25 I asked why it was different and he said mine is a set price from Club Corp. I shrugged my shoulders ¯\_(?)_/¯ and paid the money.

As Weber has posted so many times in the last few years I was very excited to play Coto for the first time. The course runs up and down the valley with no two holes alike or in play from the others. I enjoyed the variety of par 3's from the gold tee's the distances were fair at 150, 200,190, 120. Each one offering stunning views and lots of trouble.

As for the conditions for the course I dont have a lot to add to Weber and marks review. The tees were good and have many options to choose from. We had two score cards and one showed combos for black and gold and blue and gold while the other one didn't another ¯\_(?)_/¯ moment. Fairways had full coverage of grass but it was thin at times making ball striking a premium. With this course if you catch it thin you can put up big numbers quick. I did see a couple of GUR marked but it didn't come into play. Rough was strange, on the fairways it was nice and provided nice fluffy lies but the closer to the green there was new grass splotches popping up everywhere which you ball would bounce off and effectively taking away putting from off the green. The sand that I found ( a lot of them) was in good to great shape with a nice top layer of pure white sand. It looked stunning but a few were a touch firm. All of the greenside traps I found were soft and fair.

If you have chance to play here dont say no. It is a wonderful facility and I cant wait to go play the north course.
