Made it down to Tijeras Creek last Friday for a mid-day round with some buds and found the course in excellent condition, tee to green. Sometimes the putting surface rolls a bit slow here but aeration was completed a few week back and they are currently in super shape. Great staff, good food, always good times at Fuzz's home course ... nice to run into him and say 'hello' prior to his skins game. Cool place to practice, too, with grass driving range and open chipping area.

Played twilight at ~4:30 on Thursday, 4/12/12, on a cloudy cool day with an early breeze that fell away as darkness increased. Course came out of aeration of greens about 3 weeks ago and is in very good condition, with greens a little rough and inconsistent but holding shots and rolling pretty well at medium fast speed. Par 3s had quite a few ball marks, but not that many overall. Good lies in the fairways, rough benign, sand damp from rain Wednesday but in good shape. No problems encountered from the earlier rain - only hole 12 was path only. Pace leisurely but not too slow, friendly and accommodating staff, relaxing day on the course. Recommended.

Played on a Saturday afternoon super twilight post-aeration special for $40. A great deal by any measure. Despite gloomy weather, course was very busy. Staff was doing a great job of getting people out in time, and the spacing between groups was decent. We were waiting on most tee shots, but nothing I would consider excessive. Cart girl was around twice on front 9, and saw here one more time on back.

Greens were in pretty good shape considering they were aerated on 3/20. They're almost healed, but it was a bit bumpy as you would expect, no big deal. Fairways were soft, but immaculate. Rough was lush and beautiful, about 2-3 in. and due to the dampness of the day, sometimes quite punitive. Bunkers in great shape and most importantly consistent. The tee boxes (specifically the white's) on a couple of the scenic back 9 par 3's were hacked up pretty good, my only minor, minor complaint.

Finished 16 holes in 4 hours before darkness, probably could have snuck in another hole or two, but decided against it. Overall, always a great course, and for $40 for 16 holes a steal.

Played on Friday and the course is in incredibly good shape. This course is always a challenge particularly the back 9. The wind came up a little bit making it more of a challenge. The tees, fairways, rough and greens were in great condition and the pace of play was fine. Very enjoyable day.

Played Tijeras on Monday around 9:30. It was the first time back in a few months and wow it was in great shape. Wall to Wall the grass in all areas was great. Rainey Day so pace was great but we still saw the Players Assistant several times. Had a good round on a plush course, hope they keep it up I will be back very soon.

Course in really good shape..pin placements were tough though. Good rate for seniors on such a good course..go play it!

What a course should be. Sign at first tee tells which tee to play based on your handicap. Pace of play is good as course hosts really enforce the pace of play. Tees, greens and fairways are excellent. Speed of greens fast to medium. Staff is courteous and helpful. Only problem is in consistent sand in hazards.

Played 18-Feb Sat 0736-and it was a perfect day for it. A wee bit cold early, but warmed up nicely. THe course was in the best condition I've ever seen. They were hand picking range balls, so we had to cut our practice time-but the front desk was kind enough to comp us when they did open the range. The conditions were amazing-the service outstanding. Pace of play was under 4 hours. The 17 of 18 fairways, the rough, sand traps, and greens were in fantastic shape. The only minor flaws were that a couple of tee boxes were pretty hacked up and the fairway on 10 was mainly hardpan (needs punching).

It is worth metioning again that the service was great. There was a wise, pleasant ranger who kept things moving, the front desk was very helpful and explained the benefits of the Creek Card to me (I'm renewing) and the server and bartender in the 19th hole were very friendly. Final Comment: Tijeras Creek is now tied with the Goose for overall best golf value in SoCal.
