The course is in really good condition after the November rain and warm sunny days. The fairways we're in really good condition except for all the unfilled divots. As usual the greens were nice, they were pretty firm and fast. Overall a good experience. I should also add that the new carts are equipped with great new GPS monitors.
Played on 6/26 at 8 am. The course is in excellent condition and the renovations have just made the course even nicer. The new greens are very firm and even well struck irons roll out quite a ways and leave no ball mark. The fairways, tee boxes and sand traps were all in great condition. Enjoy!
Played on a beautiful day with the course in good condition after fall over seeding. The greens were in good condition but a little bumpy and the fairways were a bit thin which was unexpected after over seeding. The traps were hit and miss with some as ground under repair. The biggest issue was the slow play of 5 1/2 hours on a Wednesday morning. There was no marshal on the course to deal with the problem. This ruined a great day on a spectacular course.
Played Morro Bay on Tuesday with some friends on a spectacular afternoon. The course is in great condition and the greens were the highlight. The course has views of Morro Bay from at least 12 holes. Although the yardage is short the course is difficult as most fairways are severely sloped and the greens are very difficult as well. Conditions of the tees, fairways and greens were excellent not to mention how reasonable the greens fees are. Enjoy!
Just wanted to provide an update on the condition of the greens. They are much improved with very few showing any signs of previous issues. They are soft and slow but much better. Many tee boxes need improvement and are in bad condition but the fairways, rough and sand traps were all in good condition.
Played early morning and had a really great pace of play. The course is good condition and the greens are a bit discolored as the bermuda starts to come back but they rolled true but slow. The fairways, rough, traps and tees are in great condition. I enjoy playing this course.
I hadn't seen any recent reviews so I thought I'd provide an update. Near perfect conditions in almost every way. I don't know how it could be any better. The tees are level with good coverage, the fairways are like a carpet and the greens are really nice, rolling medium speed and few if any ball marks. For all the play this course gets it's always in really good condition. The recent rains have just made everything more lush. Enjoy!
Played mid morning a week after all the rain and the course is in excellent condition and had dried out nicely. The fairways were the best I've seen and were mown tight, the greens were in really good condition and ran at moderate speed. Even the sand traps were dried out and in really good condition. Had a great experience and would highly recommend.
Played this morning before the heat and joined 3 great guys and we were all walking. The course is in the best condition I've seen it, fairways really green and perfect, rough was up in some places and the greens were in really nice shape and rolling at medium speed. Was in a few traps and they were also good. Pace of play was also excellent at just over 4 hours. A really nice round.
Played yesterday morning on a very pleasant day out in the desert. The course is in good condition overall except for the greens which are very patchy. They rolled OK for the most part and looked worse than they played. The course said it's because it hasn't been hot enough for the type of bermuda to grow. The rest of the course was in excellent condition and the layout is plenty challenging and enjoyable.
Played on 5/18. I haven't played here for at least 20 years but joined a friend and really enjoyed the layout more than I remember. I think the use of GPS in the carts really helped because I remember the 1st time not having any idea where the hole routed. The elevation changes here are incredible. Overall the course was in good shape, the greens were a bit slow as they had been aerated a few weeks ago. The fairways were excellent but the tee boxes were hit and miss with some needing lots of attention and the rough was very patchy. Enjoyed coming here and playing.
Played on a beautiful warm day yesterday. Overall the course is in good condition. The bermuda fairways were a little thin but the rollout on drives was really good. The tee boxes were excellent but the greens were a bit beat up. They will be aerating the greens next week so the condition should improve. Although I live in Tustin I don't play here often as the green fees are rather expensive.
