Played EG on Sat 11/5 @ 0800.

The course is in GREAT shape. The greens are Lightning fast and true! Overall conditions were very good, though some tee boxes were uneven. Great customer service and smokin' cart girls. Avoid the steak salad in the 19th hole...not close to Oak Quarry's.

Go play EG!

POP was good @ 430hrs. Love the layout-some really great holes! Service was excellent throughout. That said, I agree with the other recent reviews. They would go through MANY cans of paint if they marked all the bare spots/GUR in the fairways.

The fairways need to be punched badly. Seed & water needed.

This course needs TLC NOW!

Played Hacienda Sat 28-May-16 with a friend who is a member there. They do not let guests out before 0930. The course was in excellent condition and good golf etiquette abounds. No cargo shorts allowed btw. Folks in the pro shop were polite, professional.

Let me just say this course is beautiful, but incredibly difficult. If you can't drive it 250 yds, DON'T play here. Good PoP, service in the 19th hole was great. I probably won't be back...think I'll stay with the Goose, Oak Quarry, Oak Creek, and Eagle Glen...

Played Oak Creek Sat Apr 16 as a backup to Oak Quarry due to wind. It was still pretty windy, but it was probably 2X worse at OQ. We got a player's guest rate, ~$120. Overall it was worth it.

The course is in really good shape-though a few fairways and some short rough areas were badly dried out. The bunkers had good sand and the greens were rolling nicely. The only poor green was #10. It was pretty bumpy with some bad spike marks & divots improperly repaired. This green needs to be rolled.

The overall experience was very good. A minor annoyance was the GPS in our cart didn't work. The starter, Alan, did his best to fix it at the turn, but no luck. He offered to switch us out with another cart, but I had my Skycaddie so we didn't bother. The two Romanian ladies in the 19th hole were very pleasant with excellent customer service....and the food was great.

Played Trilogy Sat AM 13-Feb-16 0800 tee time. I just love this layout! It is an extremely enjoyable track-even though it is clearly struggling financially. Greens and tee boxes were in great shape. Fairways were mainly dormant and traps were OK-only a couple were unplayable.

Service was very good overall.

Played OQ Sat, Jan 16th @ 0900. This is simply a fantastic layout. The fairways are mainly dormant but definitely playable. The greens are in great shape-rolling VERY fast. The weather was perfect and it should have been a rewarding experience. Instead we played behind a group of buddies in a sixsome...not a fivesome, but a SIXsome.

These young guys were polite and promised to move as fast as possible because "two of us are scratch golfers." It seems to me if you're scratch golfer you're familiar enough with our game's etiquette to know better. The ranger said "if I break them up, it will just slow things down." I guess he never watched 6 guys each line up putts on a green. We waited on almost every shot of our 5 1/2 hour round.

The ranger was simply not competent. The course owes it to its customers to simply not allow this. He should have politely, but firmly done his job.

The starter (George I believe) is a real gentleman there by the way and great ambassador for OQ.

Played 21-Nov-15 Sat 0810 tee time. Used an UnderPar certificate for $199 for two greens fees-no problem.

Got stuck behind foursome with two women, one carrying an umbrella for the sun. Told the ranger we were waiting on every shot. He said, "there's a group three holes ahead even slower." I responded that there was a full open hole right in front of the group we were following and that was all I cared about. He shrugged his shoulders and drove on...polite but useless. The rest of the staff was outstanding though.

As for the course, the bunker sand is the best in SoCal, Greens fast and true. The fairways and rough are in distress. I'm guessing there is a water issue even for Pechanga.

I suggest waiting until we get some rain before going down. This remains one of my favorite tracks in SoCal.

Played the Goose on the last day before the shutdown. Even being prepped for major surgery, the Goose delivered an enjoyable experience. It doesn't make sense to rate the conditions beyond that.

It is worth mentioning the staff was (as always) fantastic. Maybe it's because they were thinking about jumping over the bar and free-pouring the minute they closed. :)

Can't wait to get back there after the course recovers...Get Well Soon Goose!!

Played OQ Sat 12-Sep-15 with an 0730 tee time. It was a very humid day-even that early. The service was great as usual, from the pro shop to the range to the course and the 19th hole. Food there great too.

Now to the course. The fairways were in pristine condition, though needed mowing in some spots. Nuff said. The rough was punishing in places-to the point of being silly. There had been a rain day on Wednesday, but not sure that explained the lack of maintenance. That was what I was told when I mentioned several traps were almost unplayable hardpan. I was having the round of the century (for me literally) as I was on track to break 80 for the first time since 1999. I hit my tee shot on 17 into the greenside front bunker. Pure hardpan- might have broke a cleat. Took my first double.

So I stood on 18 needing a birdie to shoot 79. Stiffed my approach from 145 to two feet. Almost missed the putt left, but made it. I was a 16 handicap at the time... and was glad to buy my grumbling pals a few drinks after.

With some minor maintenance, this course will be stellar. I'm not complaining :).

Played 5/9/10 (Sat @ 0744) under overcast conditions. As someone blessed with Scottish heritage, I can really appreciate a great golf course and a bargain. The Goose has both!

The only thing consistently holding the course back from real greatness is the inconsistent condition of their bunkers. Sometimes near hardpan, others just right. The rest of the course in in great shape from tee to green. The POP is almost always under 4 hours early Saturday. This is helped by very skilled rangers.

The rest of the staff is fantastic as well. Their friendliness and concern for your golfing experience is sincere. I started out walking, but got a back spasm at the turn and had to get on the cart of one of the guys in my group. I offered to pay the cart rental fee and they insisted on waiving it.

The 19th hole food is good, not great. You get an honest pour as well.
If you can get past Jimmy's rabid support of USC (hard for us Bruin fans :-) there is nothing holding this course back from being the Best Value in Southern Ca. Go play the Goose!

Played TC Sat 20-Dec-14. The course was basically unplayable. We were told it was still too wet to mow, so every hole was cartpath only. The rough was 3-4" and many balls took forever to find or were lost. The fairways were very shaggy and you got zero role, mud on most drives. The course will be in good shape once the grounds crew come back to work (probably after Christmas).

Strongly recommend you check in advance to see if they have mowed greens, fairways, and rough before playing. Golfer beware!

Happy Holidays to All!

Played the Goose Sat, 29-Nov-14 @ 0730. As usual, he entire staff was professional and pleasant.

The course was in its usual great condition and the weather was perfect. POP was 4 hours. The rangers kept it moving nicely. It looks like there will be some nice new practice greens there shortly. Maybe one of the best features yesterday was the sand. Unlike many local courses, the bunkers were full, dry, and well-raked.

The Goose remains the best value in Southern California-go play it!

PS-if you do, please fix your ball marks...
