Played in late August during the incredible heat of the summer. The fairways and greens were absolutely beautiful and well groomed. The challenge of the undulating fairways with no flat areas, always keeps you guessing. A great desert resort track that will keeping you coming back for more. Worth it!

Played here on 10/9/09. The pace of play was a bit slow due the other course being reseeded. Greens were ok some bare spots. Fairways were nice not a lot of OB. The one thing that got me is the price. I have play a lot better courses for a lot less. $140 for a hotel guest is a bit much. Overall, it was an ok time.

I come here each summer for the good rates and nice resort. This year was the worst condition I have ever seen the Palms course. The greens are almost unplayable with some having patches of sod, yes I said sod. For a course in the desert I can understand the challenges of keeping the greens decent through the heat, but come on you would think they would have this down by now. Very dissapointed in the overall conditions here. Next year I will spend a few more $$$ and stay at La Quinta rather than put up with crappy greens.

On a good note, we complained to the front desk manager who in turn took off $100 off the tab for our three day stay.

Played and early morning round, found a great rate. I hadn't played here in over 10 years. I wish I could have played the Valley because most of the greens in the Palm were awful. I can understand wanting to keep them long due to the heat, but gees, my putts clung to the greens like velcro. Very slow. Which is too bad because the back 9 holes are fun to look at and play (until you reach the greens). Fairways are generous with few chewed up tee boxes and thin bunkers. Overall I still enjoy playing in the dessert and returning to the old Marriott.

played here yesterday for the first time twice. the course has a great layout and many "picturesque" par 3's. its not that difficult, its fun vacation golf. many tee boxes were fairly chewed up. there were a few tournaments going on so that could explain it. the greens dry up quite a bit in the afternoon but still will not run fast. make sure you hit your putts hard enough here. overall i enjoyed the course quite a bit, and would love to return.

Played in Sept to get the last of the Summer rate. Very nice folks, except the counter man at the Pro Shop. Course was in very good shape. Lots of water! The problem is, yiou can't see a lot of it until you get over the little humps and hills. REALLY check your GPS image before teeing off on each hole! The GPS seemed a little inaccurate compared with the card or posted yardages. Trap sand was a strange consistency. Fluffy and wet at the same time. A consistent course design characteristic is to create a lot of terrain mounding and elevation change in the 100 yards in front of the green. I recommend hitting to the 100 rather than dumping a full driver or approach shot up near the green.

Played here on Saturday of Labor Day weekend as a part of my stay and (unlimited) play package. The Palms was in better shape than the Valley overall, but the Palm greens were pretty sandy.

Played here on Saturday of Labor Day weekend as a part of my stay and (unlimited) play package. The Palms was in better shape than the Valley overall, but the Palm greens were pretty sandy.

Pace of play was fantastic on both courses--no round was longer than 4 hours.

Tee boxes were beat up a bit

Fairways were very nice I thought (although the Valley course had a lot of bad spots)

Pro shop and starters were excellent.

Cart girl was very frequent and nice.

Enjoyable time despite the heat. I just love staying at a resort and simply "getting out" whenever I feel like it. Definitely worth the trip if you get a good package deal like mine ($200 per night + unlimited golf--the room and pool were nice also).

The Palms course is the better of the 2 in my opinion. The greens right now are better on this side as well. This is a fun course to play with its variety of water holes.
