Played 3/15 and 3/16. Beautiful weather and resort. $69 walk up employee rate, as I work for the company.

Very professional, friendly staff. Challenging course for the mid to high handicapper (me), that doesn't crush your soul if you don't bring your "A Game".

Greens, rough and fairways in great shape. Paired up each day with some nice Canadians. Pace of play for both days, teeing off at noon, was about 4.5 hours.

Lots of sand traps - I found them all day on 3/15. Water throughout. Nothing negative to report - ok, $7 beers from beverage cart is a little much, other than that, a great place to "stay and play". Would recommend and repeat.

World class service from friendly and motivated staff throughout the facility. As anticipated, these two months have matured and firmed up the greens, and they are quick, true and smooth; a treat. Had a nice chat with the superintendent and tees, sand and greens are all new, and it shows. Extremely lush conditions all around. Throw in a challenging, but fair, resort layout on a perfect day, and it is heaven. Fast firm fairways bordered by beautiful lush 2 inch rye was a picture. Very busy field with 8 minute tee times made the round at 5 hours, but the marshalers were doing well to keep that pace. I found out today on the two course there were 400 rounds sold!!!! Great prac-fac, and superb F&B makes it a destination course to play. It would be an excellent venue for a corporate/tournament outing. There are deals out there for these courses and definitely recommended.

A very nice and fun ‘resort’ course. Only 3 weeks since it re-opened from over seeding, the course is very lush and green. BUT wait until late January for the greens to mature and speed up. Currently, as of 15 Dec 11, the greens are lush but the grass must be allowed to grow, and therefore, are very slow with long rye. They are soft and hold well but I can best describe them as a perfectly mown fairway.
The layout is quite amazing, as one can imagine the amount of earth needed to be moved to create the hills, mounds, and contouring, never mind the bunkering.
The absolute best aspect of the round was the bunker sand. It is heaven. In fact, I started aiming at the bunkers just to avoid the greens; Soft, white, fluffy and plentiful. Definitely brought in from somewhere else.
All maintenance and presentation aspects of the course were good (see pics). Fairways were firm and running well. Rough was a sensible length of one inch, making finding the ball easy as it was to hit from it; this also kept pace of play on 4+15 with a busy field.
On course, check in, and post game service was world class, with good amenities, including all grass practice range.
The rating is effectively GOOD but it is sure to come up Great next year.

Just visited the resort this weekend (june 4): spoke with some of the staff, course closed for a few months; they are redoing all of the greens and tees, and adding/subtracting bunkers to improve visual perspective and put them more in play. The greens slopes are being softened a bit to decrease the sharp tiers, and allow them to cut the grass shorter and increase the speed, as the greens usually run at stimp=8. should be much more playable and challenging when done. looking forward to it. They will do the valley course when they open the palms.

Played 12/30. Course was in fantastic shape. Tees, fairways and greens were all in great shape, the rough was thick, green, and healthy (but not very forgiving!) Pace of play on the front 9 was not very good at 2 1/2 to 3 hours. The back 9 played significantly faster and we finished the round in just over 4 1/2 hours (just as it was getting dark). Although I didn't play very well, I can't blame the course. It rewarded good shots and penalized bad ones (just like it is supposed to). Staff was courteous and friendly and we thoroughly enjoyed our round.

Played the Palms on Friday for 69 bucks on golf now. Course is looking like they are going to over seed the fairways anyday because they were pretty chewed up, but still very playable. I like this track and forget how fun it is. Some nice challenge and pretty course and I think a little better than the valley. Great for the price right now in the desert and customer service is great and the course conditions are always very nice.

Would't expect anything less from Marriott. Nice wide open fairways and challanging sloped greens. Nice pictue screened GPS on the golf carts with a ice cooler in the back. Had a foursome in front of us lollygagging, and still finished in 4.5 hrs. Everyone very friendly. A must play when in the Desert.

I have a time share with Marriott, so i get to play any time i want. The fairways are very wide so you cant lose your ball. If you can hit it stright, you can shot a good score. I am a 10 handy cap and i can score in the mid mid 80s easy on this course. O and you get a lot roll on the the fairways, that helps a lot. Say 240yrs will end up 260yrds
