Just played Eagle Glen this morning and had a great time! After reading the previous poster's comments, I was a little aprehensive to keep my tee time. I have to say that I agree with him on the comments about the staff being great, but I'm not really sure where he was coming from with the comments about the actual golf course. Here is my review of all aspects of the course:
Greens - Fast, firm, and true. NO BARE SPOTS. Minimal pitch marks (which our group helped out to fix a couple on every hole)
Fairways - Good grass coverage although a little wet in low areas. As far as the comment in the previous post about the grass being dead....not true! It is bermuda grass that is begining to go dormant....it's a big difference! It is starting to brown a bit because they didn't overseed (which I was told you can't do every year) but it did NOT affect playability.
Rough - Read comments about fairways
Bunkers - Was only in a 2 bunkers today (both greenside) and they were fantastic.
Tee Boxes - Level with good grass coverage.
Beer Cart - Saw the beer girl 5 times!

Overall- I highly recommend getting out to play Eagle Glen! I am a 3 handicap and my Dad is a 20 and we both really enjoyed the layout.

Played Saturday, 12/04 at 11:00. Round lasted 5 hours, saw the beverage cart three times. Every member of the staff I dealt with was very friendly and accommodating, which was great; one of the most exceptional customer service experiences I've had on a golf course to date. The clubhouse was beautiful and luxurious, and the restaurant had great food and drinks. There were amazing views of the local mountains and valleys throughout the round. Okay, now comes the hard part: The course was, in my opinion, terrible. My twosome was paired up with a member, who stated that the course purposely decided not to overseed this year. It really showed in the course condition. Fairways were mostly dormant/dead, with many bare areas and mostly muddy lies. The rough was similar to the fairways, just a little fuller. Bunkers were either hardpan or mud, with a few rocks in the mix as well. Greens were running at about an 11, really fast, but only because they were very hard and bare in spots. They rolled somewhat true, but had a few bumps and unrepaired pitch marks. The majority of the back nine, from tee to green, was covered in duck feces; there was even a dead duck in the middle of one of the fairways which appeared to have been there for a while. Putting through duck poop isn't very fun, and cleaning it off your shoes, clubs and ball is a chore. The layout of this course is already very difficult, with many forced carries, abundant uneven fairway lies, undulating greens and some holes that were designed to be just plain hard; the unfortunate course conditions put the difficulty of play for me over the top. I am a 20 hcp, so take this review with a grain of salt if you are a better player...you may have a much better time than I did. Ultimately, I just could not score well out there, and even though the customer service experience was amazing, I will not be returning.

Played Eagle Glen this morning with a friend of mine and got a smoking deal on Golfnow.com for only $35.00 with a GPS equipped cart. Arrived at the course about 45-minutes prior to tee off and practiced putting on their practice green. Greens rolled nice and true and had some sections with undulation. Unfortunately, the driving range didn't open until 8:00AM and out tee time was for 7:30AM.

It was definitely cold this morning and I could barely feel my hands. Now I know why places like Golfsmith sell mittens! I would much rather have purchased some of those hand warming gel packs! Anyways ....

Eagle Glen is a very nice track. There is a good combination of holes with wide and narrow fairways. There is even a hole or two with split level fairways. Most, if not all of the greens were well guarded and made you think about approach shot. Pin placement was mixture of nice and "what the heck were they thinking?"

This was the first time (in a long time) that I lost a lot of balls. I blamed the cart's GPS but later tonight at the range, I realized that it was ME that was blocking some shots out to the right!

The pace of play was fantastic! We finished the entire round in about 3.5 hours. We weren't rushed at all. The course is in great condition and well worth the internet rates. This course, along with several others in the local area, are surrounding by very nice and probably expensive homes. Once the homes become out of sight, the mountain views are real nice with numerous elevation changes.

All in all, I had a great time in spite of my terrible score. I recommend brining a few sleeves of balls and think even the "gold" tees are plenty challenging. This track is not the longest but, plenty of undulation, blind shots, elevation changes, dog legs and split fairways is making me want to come back for some payback.

Played Tues 11/09. As I sat in the clubhouse having breakfast, the view of the course in the early morning was tremendous. The course looked light green and the hills were dark green in contrast. The baby rabbits near the putting green were a nice touch. Tee boxes were level, trimmed and had the divots filled in. Rough was high and you could lose a ball if you didn't walk right on top of it. Fairway bunkers had a harder sand in them, more compressed. The greenside bunkers, by contrast, had fluffy sand. Fairways were firm with the new sod starting to blend in. Greens were firm and rolling smooth. Carts were clean and beverage cart came by 4 times. Customer service is outstanding throughout. Very sparse day for players. Great pace of play.

Played here on 10/16/10, 12:08 tee time. Man, what a bummer. I love this course. Has a great mix of flat and elevated holes, the scenery is fantastic, and the course was in really good shape! Greens rolled true and pretty quick. Would have been a great day, except that it took us 5.5 hours to get through 15 HOLES.....we quit after that. There were no marshalls out enforcing pace of play, which would have done the trick as we found that we when we went in, it was one group two ahead of us that was 3 holes behind. We passed them up (at this point now just a twosome since we left our group to go in) and decided to play 18 real quick since no one was there. You can see #17 green from the 18th green and we found that, even though we were a twosome, we played 18 (a par 5) from tee to green in the amount of time it took the slow group to simply get on #17 green.....which is a par 3. Aside from the good course conditions, it was a very frustrating day given that we payed for 18 holes and could only get through 15. The course needs to do a better job of marshalling.

Played Sat 10/9 and it pays to get out early. We were a twosome second group out behind another twosome. Never saw the group behind us except when we were putting out on 14 and they were getting to the 12th tee. Played in a little less than 3.5 hours.

Greens were good, except for the twosome in front of us not repairing their ball marks. They were rolling fairly fast and true. Fairways were soggy is places, a little shaggy but the ball sat up nicely. Tee boxes were definitely shaggy but it was easy to find a spot that was a little thinner.

Paid full rack rate but it was worth it taking into consideration the greens and pace of play. Will be back again soon.

Played sunday AM - I would rate this as fair to good condition-wise (about a 6-6.5 overall).

Tees needed a trim and were pretty shaggy in places with some unevenness - according to the marshal they will be getting aerated and over-seeded soon.

Fairways were a bit overwatered and spongy but still ok with some repairs going on.

Greens were the best part - ran true with some minor bumpiness and decent speed.

I would say for the price this is great golf - lots of challenges but great shot value on the front nine which plays tight thru a hillside, but it's shorter than the back nine which plays in an adjacent valley with wide open looks from the tees. Most of the greens have subtle undulations but a few are pretty severe in places so it pays to get your ball in the right section. Oh and beautiful views throughout.

Pace of play on the slow side - a little under 5 hours to play 18. I will be back!

Played oct 7 , the course is in good shape exept for a few areas in some of the fairways that are under repair as well as a couple of the fairway bunkers. There were some drunks on the course that were slowing up play but they were entertaining , a lot of yelling and f- bombs but they were having fun, and after all thats what this game is suppose to be fun ? oh one big problem on several holes the auto sprinklers would turn on, this happend on about four holes , please check your auto sprinkler times, also there were several holes that were cart path only.
