Played Green River - Riverside Course. Customer service was ok. The marshall here watches you like a hawk. We saw the cart girl once, but saw the marshall like 5 times. Also, the starter forced a single in the front of our group to ride the same cart as another single. His excuse was "I want to make sure there is enough carts"....it was 100 degrees..and probably 30 extra carts available...

Now..the course...fairways were thin, greens were surprisingly in good condition except for Hole # 3. Soft and bumpy greens, but rolled fast because of the sun. The 1st 4 holes, you get a d%mn train running through every 10 minutes honking their horn.
Pace of play was great. 4.5 hours. The wind was brutal..15 to 20 miles/hr. Many dogleg holes..and tons of mature trees and branches..keep them drives straight. Will probably not come back.

First time playing the Riverside portion of Green River. As with the Orange side, the course is a good value. We played as a twosome for $22 and a noonish teetime. Greens were punched at the end of April, and have healed very well, in fact, they were in great shape...not terribly fast, but very smooth and even. Fairways in good shape too now. Rough is hit and miss, with tree roots and some bare spots, but not a big deal. We finished in 4-4.5 hrs, and had time to enjoy ourselves.

Played on Monday morning at 7:30 as a threesome and finished in 3 hours 45 min. Course was in excellent shape. Greens were fast and rolled true--though they don't have a lot of break, putts from above the hole were scary. Most of the greens slope significantly from back to front, so leave your ball below the hole (short of the pin) if you are an aggressive putter.

Fairways were lush with a few dry areas. I had great lies all day, with the ball sitting up, especially around the greens where they water more heavily. Tee boxes were lush (blue tees), sometimes the grass was deep enough that you really had to use a long tee. A couple of tee boxes were very unlevel, but most were very good.

The Riverside course is a good traditional type layout--big trees, some dog legs, holes you can see all of from the tee, and good for walking. No blind shots, gimmicky mounds or bowl shaped fairways. With Green River what you see is what you get, and in my book that is just fine.

Rough not always even but playable. Bunkers were semi-soft. They will be aerating soon. I will definitely come back.

Makes me happy to write this review. Back in September, I played here and noted that the course was in bad shape. I went back to play this Sunday. I would not call it night and day but the course is in MUCH better shape. While a tiny bit shaggy the greens are rolling bump free. The rough has been cut to almost consistent length and the tee boxes are better (although still a tiny bit of shag). There are bare spots still here and there in the fairway that might leave your ball with a suspect lie. Almost a non issue if you do not mind bumping out of a small bald spot. Played with members there who said the course has almost been like a ghost town because of its conditions and say the course just keeps getting better and better every week. It is back to the point where I will head out to play it now and then. Keep up the improvements! It was great to see.

Good place to play for the price. Went out at 1pm for 16 bucks, and finished about 4:45. Only thing that bugged me was fairways, as many holes had dead spots or bare spots. Greens were good, as also most tee boxes. Par 3 tee boxes had plenty of divot damage. Sand traps were hard, and some still had water in from the rain the day before. Enjoyable course and a decent pace. Find a deal online for a good rate with a cart and its worth every penny.

What a bunch of idiots who run this course. I was in a shotgun tournament in December and they put public walk on people out in the middle of our tournament and my group had to wait at every tee box for people who were walking the course (our league requires everyone to ride) When I called to complain and ask what they were doing I was told, and I quote, " too bad, your group is playing too slow and its holiday season and other people want to play" Now the league I belong to has had this tournament there every year for at least 15 to 20 years in which I have played it for at least 7 of those years. NEVER AGAIN will I play that course, i have never had someone from the pro shop talk so rude and condescending to me in my life. When I went to the pro shop after the round the gentleman (idiot) who I talked to on the phone earlier from the course had already "left for the day", how convenient. By the way, you would think they would clear some of the leaves from the rough so you can find your ball. 5 feet off the fairway and you have to start looking under all the leaves to find your ball. They do make vacuum equipment to take care of these problems and good courses have them.

Played 11/20/08. No damage to the course from the fires, but many of the adjacent areas are totally burned. Very surreal to see how the fire burned areas inside the course, jumping around, and leaving some spots charred and other spots untouched??? The course is in decent shape. Most of the greens are fine, some a bit bumpy. Fairways ok, traps were however very nice. Fun little course to play, even from the tips it's very playable.
