With all the internet deals this place was rather crowded today. As I saw many groups tee off I front of me I knew it would be a round of a lot more than 4 hours. And it was. The course is in good shape. The fairways being the best. They will aerify early next month so be aware. The "new" 18 just like the old 36 holes is a tougher test of golf than you might think if umfamiliar with Green River. I have played here many times since my first time in 1990 and this is one course where I never go really low. There is always next time!! I quit golf until tomorrow.

Played 8/28 at 2pm for their super twi rate of $26 with cart for the first time since they combined the 2 courses. Heard that the condition is almost the same as GooseCreek i guess we were a little too late for that, anyway the Tee boxes were good, Fairways have a lot of dried spots already but it's still playable roughs are in good shape. Bunkers are pretty good Greens are good a little fast but that's what i like. The problem here is always the pace of play. But if you don't get too frustrated about it you will have an enjoyable day. The wind kicked in at the back 9 and everything became so much longer. I'll only come back on weekdays though hopefully the pace of play would be much faster

DONT come out if you dont hit the fairways and enjoy looking for your golfball amongst hundreds of thousands of cottonwood leaves--that is by far my biggest gripe on this course. A CONSTANT headache trying to find errant balls--not a course issue, BUT, thought I would mention it.

Went out Monday 6/28 and couldn't be happier. Course is right up there with Dos Lagos or Anaheim Hills and real close to Goose Creek. Give it a try

Played Sat., June 12, 2010...With the course being only 18 holes now, they have done a great job. The service is always great and everyone is helpful. The only thing that wasn't great was the fact that the putting green was rolling faster than the greens on the course. Wind is always an issue as the morning turns into afternoon, but that is what makes this course challenging. They are trying to upgrade parts of the course, but it doesn't affect playing conditions. The cart girl comes around often and she takes credit cards. Overall, this is one of the better courses to play that is close and not in OC.

Played here last week Thursday afternoon with Johnny and RobStretch. First time at this course. Just some initial observations. They need better signage leading my golfing brethern here. I orginally thought this course was Anahiem Hills boy was I mistaken. I was pleasantly suprised at the facility. For you locals who know this course, it's a gem. The facility itself is huge. Well stocked proshop, nice HUGE practice green and chipping area. The course features a great bar/snack area as well as a HUGE banquet facility.

Now for the course. Green River consists of two combined courses. The end result -- a combination that flows well. I do request they add addtional signs for hole 3 (I didn't know it was beyond the railroad siding). The course offers challenge. It's a good mix of elevation changes, undulations and doglegs. Greens are currently a little bumpy but it's perhaps b/c the greens need a little haircut. Fairways in GREAT shape. Bunkers well stocked. Rough is thick and very sticky. Loads of mature trees line each side of the fairway. Pace of play was crazy fast. I would play here just b/c of the pace of play was fast. I was thinking of using the course as a stopping point to wait out traffic. The course offers character instead of a flat course.

On a side note try playing in the wind or take advantage of the long par 3 holes. Those were quite fun and offer pretty good elevation changes and challenge. Back to Back par 5s offers a nice way to end a round of golf.

Bottom Line, I would return. Green River offers a little bit of everything and with golf conditions improving it's worthy of regular play. Now I just need to make sure all my customers want to play golf here that are in the Corona/Riverside area. But that is better left for a different discussion.

5/27 was my first time to Green River Golf Club…never played it when it was 36 holes but really enjoyed the current 18 hole layout. I personally feel this is one of the most general appealing courses for all skill levels I’ve experienced. It was a perfect balance of challenge and fairness with next to no forced carries and mix of difficult/easy holes. The fairways are generous but if you do get wild from the tee, you really pay for it in the trees and even out of bounds. If your tee shot in on but your iron game leaves you, get ready for some difficult up and down opportunities as most greens are guarded by bunkers, some multi-tier and others with thick rough. Hit the ball well (not perfect) and have your short game working, you can easily fire a fantastic round. Furthermore, it a mostly level layout so walking is certainly possible. Beyond the playability of the layout, as a first timer, I was very impressed with how scenic 3-11 holes are. Beautiful hills/rural views combined with big mature trees created a relaxing feeling. As for the playing conditions, better then I expected for how low the green fee is. The fairways were excellent and lush. Hardly a bad lie to be found. The greens, also medium to slow (could be sped up with a cut and roll), were mostly smooth at times bumpy and held shots very well. The rough was mostly lush at times thin and cut low. The sand traps were well ranked, contained firm sand but were very playable. The tee boxes were well maintained, mostly level and have little divot damage. I was impressed.

One of the most impressive aspects of the course is the massive clubhouse and golf shop. The place is very well equipped for a large outing or wedding. The parking lot is huge and well positioned so you can drop your clubs off at your car right after the round before you return the cart. The golf shop is well stocked and offers better specials then I’ve seen in most golf stores. Regarding the practice facilities, the practice putting and chipping areas are huge with two BIG greens and chipping sections. The range was a bit of let down being it was only 200 yards long (no drivers) but well suited to warm up your irons.

Overall, I highly recommend playing Green River Golf Club to all skill levels looking to get a great bang for their buck!

Never played Green River but was excited when I pulled up. I always see it off the fairway and wondered how it really played. Well I was in for a surprise. I thought it was just an ordinary muni but it turned out to be a different type of enviroment.

As you all know they had two courses ( i didnt even know that) that they condensed to one. The club house is very inviting with very good service and space to walk around. The 19th hole is large and spacious. We were going to watch the LAKER game after we played but, the dinre was closed??? Only serving adult beverages.

The course starts off with a down hill carry shot, short par 4 where the landing area plays tricks on you. i noticed a lot of the holes that where not straight forward had some little trickery (visually) that would make you think. The fairways looked shorter but had room for long shots.

Tee boxes, fairways were in great shape, the greens just need to be rolled then the bumps will go away and they will roll real good. The roll good now but on some holes the bumps will have an impact on your putt.

The wind is a factor here - especially when you go down to the back 6 holes. There was very littel wind until we hit 13. Then welcome to the hard part. This course has some very nice holes with some spectacular veiws. It is too bad they only have two pictures up, beciase they have a lot of nice veiws on the course.

this course is well worth the short ride, the stop by waiting for traffic, or the visit once in a while. Great Service, an interesting set of holes and a history / future lesson if you ask in the pro shop.
