Played 12/1/03, greens were in good condition but fairway needed some work, bare in a lot of places and muddy in others. You have to hit the fairways beacause it is easy to lose balls in the hillsides. Also some greens did not have good pin placements since you could chip to the flag and then watch your ball roll back off the green.

Played 9 AM,pace of play was very good, lots of 2 somes and we were a 4 some but pace was good. Heard rumors that this track was going to be sold for homes and I guess its true,not positive but no one denies it,, front nine to go in spring and then back nine later.We used to play here a lot when it was a bargin and then went elsewhere when they thought they had an Ocean Trails or whatever in the middle of nowhere. Its not the middle of nowhere anymore, houses,expensive houses, are creeping up to the fairway boundries. We had to play once more, what we found was a great test of golf,temp in the mid 70's greens were great,fairways were OK, they did not overseed the fairways, staff was just fine. Would suggest playing this course as its soon to be gone. If ya spray the ball all over the place you wont have much fun, its not that tight, but penalties are severe. We always referred to Hidden Valley as Pelican Hills without the ocean views or the stupid green fees. .

A very pretty and different kind of course. I hesitated playing here because I heard it was kind of a "hokey" layout. It is very different, but I am glad I played it and will definitely come back.

Nice course, plenty of opportunities for risk/reward. But BEWARE! For some unknown reason, it's YELLOW JACKET SEASON. Our foursome got stung 5 times in our round on 9/11, all during swing, follow through or putt. Most holes affected, perhaps from new construction in area, perhaps not. Was constant problem, worry from 1st hole to 18th. Will play again & often if insect problem is removed.

Played here at hidden valley today and the course was in decent shape. There are some tee boxes and some fairways that really need some work, but the greens were in great shape. They hold really well and for the individual that posted before that said they dont hold, maybe he just can't hit a proper iron shot. This is an extremely tough course so to break 80 here is a tough one to do. Played in 4 hours on a weekend.
