No one seems to know the status of this place, but, business is down and my guess is that folks think its closed. It is open and in very nice shape, senior rate of $40 is OK, tough course, need all skills to score here.We teed off at 8AM on 6/3 and had the place to ourselves,, We will be back.

The greens were fast but in good shape. Lots of nice views from elevated tee boxes. Bring your A game.

Thx to Wes, the marshall, I had the course all to myself w/ a twilite tee time as a single. He escorted me to the back 9 to begin the round and even dropped by from time to time w/ great tips on the layout (since it was my 1st time here). I was the last guy off the course, so they waited till I finished b/f packin' it in for the day and head home. Needless to say, that kind of personal attention engenders great feedback. I will definitely return as often as possible b/f the closure in June.

This course is generously spread over the Norco hills, so the scenery is terrific. Lots of undulations require some local knowledge, but some of those dropoffs on the tee (up to 200yds!) lets you watch your ball sail into the distance for a good long while. I just love that...

However, the winds can wreak havoc. I played w/ gusty winds that could be from 1-3 clubs of adjustments. The layout is a bit tricky and I found myself w/ some unexpected blindshots b/c I did not place the tee shot on the appropriate side of the fairway. The color graphics of the GPS helped tremendously.

I saw at least a dozen squirrels/rabbits/birds scuttering around on every hole, which may be distracting to some, but all I kept thinking about was what a haven this is for the rattlers known to lurk in the nearby brush. Consequently, I left many a ball in the hillsides for the braver golfers to fetch. The course seemed to play much tougher than the rating (blues:71.5/137) b/c of the prevailing high winds and tight landing areas in some spots can make for a grueling round. This is definitely target golf. The sand traps had just the right bounce to them and were consistent throughout the course. The fairways are a bit thin, but the greens are undulated and fast. No wonder they don't get much play here; seniors must hate this layout.

I thoroughly enjoyed my experience here and consider it a much better course than nearby Goose Creek. Thx again to the gracious staff.

The course was maintianed very nice, eventhough it may be closing. Lots of elevation changes. Great view. Only about 5 groups on the course, probably due to the fires.

Beautiful course that will make you use every club in your bag. There are five tee boxes to satisfy all levels of golfers. Though the course is intimidating from the tips, there is very little trouble from the forward tees. It was a lot of fun. We will be back.

Get out your chisels, carve those "strong rumors" in stone.....Hidden Valley has been sold to housing developers and the company who run the place know they only have until June until they have to find new jobs. This is sad. I was a member of the Men's Club there, and have played the course often. It's quirky, a different sort of track....hilly - and definitely makes you think about "risk and reward". If you wanna get out an play before the bulldozers come....don't expect to see top-notch conditions. There are some noticable thin spots in some of the fairways - and I think the groundskeepers may have already been put on unemployment. There was a day when you had to watch out for 25+ guys on tractors and lawnmowers....wearing hard-hats - on Saturday (2/28) there were none to be seen. They have kept the greens in good shape though.

I say get out and say good-bye to a fun place! It will certainly be missed as one of our options.
