Played 2-23-07, Friday, 9:00 am, for the first time. Twosome. Awsome day to play. 18 holes in 3 1/2 hours. Broken clouds and a slight breeze. Temp about 63 at the highest. You will need to hit your par 4 & 5 drives straight. Not much wiggle room on this course. Keep your drives low so as to run on these very short cut fairways. Lots of dog legs. You need to use several clubs off the tees for the best approach shot. It's ok to settle for a par or boggie on some holes. Today most of the greens were a little hard and tacky. A few were faster then others but played well. Be aware of how the course drains when on the green. Lots of hills around the course. Wind might come up in the PM. I will be back. Nice place to stop and have a drink. One of my favorites.

The course is in poor shape , fairways are starting to get bare. Frost Delays on Saturday 2-3-07 staff was frenzied and somewhat rude.

Course meanders through a housing development. Some interesting holes and some elevation changes. Overall a fair course for the money.

Played Sunday Nov 12th. Greens were very consistant and all were in great condition. It was my first time playing the course and I'm looking forward to going back. Tempature was in the low 70's and was slightly breezy at times. Overall it was a great day.

Played on Friday 10/13. Spaul100 was about 85% accurate. Perhaps I hit my tee shots in places he didn't (which is likely true since I've played with him before...he's usually down the middle). I found a handful of patches with dead grass and parts that should have been roped off. Overall though, the course WAS in great shape.

On to the staff: The last time we played, my friend attempted to use a coupon from Socal Golf magazine and somehow the starter found a reason NOT to honor it. I don't quite recall the details since my friend had booked the time and dealt with the starter while I waited outside. This time I went inside and attempted to use a different coupon and it was again not honored. Read the fine print when attempting to use the coupons and perhaps call first and force them to promise you they'll honor your usage of the coupon.

Played on 10/7. Course is in excellent condition!!! Most likely because they just hosted the California Open, but regardless, I would recommend this course to everyone right now. Redhawk has not been a favorite of mine the other two or three times I played there (i typically preferred CrossCreek or SCGA), however it is the in the best shape of any course I have played in the last 6 months!!!

Tee boxes, fairways, and greens were all immaculate. The rough was not too high or thick which made for less of a punishment if you missed the fairway.

They were doing some renovation on one of the par 3's on the back, but tee boxes and green were untouched on that hole and in perfect condition as the rest of the course.

I saw maybe one patch of fairway the entire day that should have been marked off as ground under repair and that is the only negative comment I have for this course.

Interesting layout with some neat holes and perfect conditions makes me wish I lived closer so I could play more often at this track.

Advice = PLAY REDHAWK NOW BEFORE CONDITIONS CHANGE!

Played this morning @ 7:12. Was minorly disappointed with the staff. The only reason I say that is because my group (a threesome) got there a little early and the guy in the proshop said we could go out early because there wasn't anyone there yet. This turned out not to be true because there was a twosome practicing on the putting green. Anyway, the starter said that we wouldn't be able to tee off until our tee time because the "members" had filled up all the tee times up until our original tee time. So I went into the proshop and asked why he told me that no one was here and I inquired why the starter told me we would have to wait. He said the starter has the last word and that the members didn't have the same check-in requirements as "non-members". I'm not really sure what a "member" is at a public course, but apparently they don't have to check in much before their tee time, or at all to be considered present and accounted for. So the crotchity old starter made my group wait even though NOBODY was on the tee. Ultimately, this is not a big deal, but I didn't like being treated in such an arbitrary way by the starter. Well, for $40, I guess I should be willing to put up with a schalaking every once in a while. That being said, the course was in great shape. Tee boxes and fairways were tight and short. The greens were fast except for holes 5-7. Pace of play was good, even though we had a foursome in front and a threesome riding our butts. This is one of the best courses in the southern california area, especially for the price. Only one small thing to complain about. Pretty much every other hole there were groundskeepers working on something and they were constantly in the way. The other thing is that the 7th fairway had rows and rows of mower clippings going the whole length of the fairway. I don't recall ever losing a ball in the middle of the fairway before. Will definately come back, but I will refrain from asking to tee off early.

Finally got a chance to play the course...I used the coupon at their website that gives you a free round on your B-day. Great deal. The course was fun to play, A very challenging layout. Beautiful scenery, and the pace of play was great. There were a few bare spots on the course, but for the most part it was in great shape. A few greens can be like roller-coaster rides if your not on the right level. I hope to be back.
