Not sure what tgardner is talking about, but CC is in terrible condition. Played today, 6/22, and this place is still a complete mess. Fairways are whatever you call worse than patchy. Even where they appear to be green, they lack consistent coverage. Tee boxes are unlevel, uncut (blacks), and have large dead patches or dirt patches. Greens are fine, not at all what they were a few years back, but at least acceptable.

Staff is still cool, but that can't make up for the lack of conditioning on the course. Any municipal course in SoCal will be in better condition than CC right now. It's a real shame as this course used to be a gem. Now it's just out of the way and unattended.

Played on 1/14/09. The greens are as good as they get for public golf. Probably as quick as I have ever seen them at this course and normal amount of ball mark/damage, but not enough marks that roll is affected. Rest of the course is in good shape, so long as it doesn't bother you that the fairways are dormant. Fairways are actually faster due to the dormancy of the grass and makes the course a little more challenging. Visually, the course is great right now since the fairways are dormant and the rough is very lush and green.

WARNING: This course is in BAD condition all around.

This is crazy, I don't know how someone can review this course and fail to mention that the greens are punched! What a joke. This course is in terrible condition all around. We went off very early on 11/24 and they were punching the greens as we played. The course was in such bad condition, I left after 11 holes. Of course, nobody in the pro shop mentioned that they would be punching when we checked in. Staff was nice, but useless as they failed to mention that greens were going to be punched today and fairways were uncut and in poor condition.

Greens are punched!

Greens are punched!

In fairness, I will say that the punch was small and will likely be healed in a couple weeks at most.

In addition to the greens being punched, the fairways were uncut and very thin in many spots. It's sad when you would prefer to play off an uncut fairway than an area of the fairway that is covered in maneur. Obviously, Westridge is still undergoing serious fall maintenance.

Workers on course wouldn't even consider pausing what they are doing so as to not be a distraction. Overall, this is a weak layout in poor condition.

Thanks for nothing Westridge!

Played 9/26 am. Greens are not quite healed yet. Small holes are still visible and slightly affect the roll. However, they were cut very tight and were pretty smooth even with the holes. Seven more days and they will be perfect.

This is a good municipal course with a more traditional layout. No real bells and whistles, but some really good dog legs and big trees lining the fairways. Not long. Overall condition was very good for a muni.

played last sunday 8/24. It was very hot. Only saw the cart girl two times during the round. Also, it seemed like the lady at the snack shop wasn't really paying attention to my order and messed up my burrito. However, course is in good shape. Not sure if I should go back or not, I will have to pray on it.

played front nine on 8/19, course is in bad shape. Worst condition I have seen this course in. Especially the greens. I've never seen this course in country club shape, however the greens have always been good. Not anymore. Apparently they punched the greens recently. Also, they look like they have been spray painted (I think it's fertilizer). Greens were slow, bumpy, and beat up. Fairways were average. Sand traps average to poor. Tee boxes average. Rough was probably the only thing that was average to good. They have clearly cut it down from the LB Open, but it is still 4-5 inches I think and fairly punitive. This is still a great layout in my opinion, but they gotta get the greens back in order. The course is too short to be challenging without quick greens.

Played 8/15. Course is in great condition. Greens are fast, smooth, relatively unmarked, and receptive. Tee boxes were lush and level. Fairways were fantastic, nice and buttery; a couple rough spots, but basically unnoticeable.

I certainly didn't expect the course to be in this type of condition. It was a great surprise. Just assumed the heat would have had some impact on the course, but the greenskeeper has done an amazing job fending off the heat. Also, no real wet spots on the course like many other places trying to combat the heat. Only 40 bucks for twilight at 1pm. This is a great deal for sure.

This is a really good course. I haven't played SCPGA (sorry, East Valley) in a couple years and had forgotten how strong the layout on the Champions side is. Also, very accomodating staff and five star practice area and driving range. I usually end up playing Oak Valley when in Beaumont, but I am looking forward to getting back out on this course once the punching is done.

Course is in average shape. Played on 6/6. It concerns me that people post things like greens are in great shape for a course like LL. The greens are not in great shape by any measure. They are covered in ball marks, soft, bumpy, and slow (maybe a six).

I guess it's all relative, but if I was visiting this area and didn't know Los Lagos from any other OC course; I might take one of these reviews at face value and go play Los Lagos thinking the course is going to be in good shape with great greens.

In reality, Los Lagos is a muni course that gets way too much play by people who don't have any concern for the condition of the course. The head GK and his staff can only do so much to keep the course up.

It's disingenuous to not inform readers that the fairways are covered in divots, the greens are slow/bumpy, and the pace of play is painstaking. I don't intend to offend other reviewers, but I believe we have a responsibility to be completely forthcoming with these reviews, otherwise what good are they.

This course is in great condition, tee to green. Greens quick enough for me, probably a true 8. Played on Memorial Day 5/26. Guess the course was crowded by NorCal standards, but still finished in just over four hours.

Amazing layout, very similar to rustic canyon in North LA/South Ventura Area especially with regards to the bunkering and the natural unfettered feel of the design. Almost as if the course was already there and they just needed to roll the greens and flatten a few spots for tee areas.

I will be back and can't wait. Great staff. Amazing course. I wish I lived up north whenever I play up there. Course rating should be much higher. Darkhorse is rated by nearly every golf magazine as top 100 you can play every year....go see for yourself.

Played this morning 4/10. Greens not healed yet. They are rolling ok with regards to speed, but punches are still visible and affect roll. Rest of the course is in pretty good shape, not many complaints. Have to again say good job to the staff....first class today, much appreciated.

No comment on traps, was in one, it was fine. Tee boxes were level and lush. Fairways were lush. Rough was up probably 3-4 inches in most spots, in some spots rough was 8+, basically forget finding your ball cuz it's lost.

Played here again on 4/8. I want to take back some of the remarks I made in my previous review. I think I took a little more time with this round and really appreciated the course more. While I still think that one hole out in the middle of nowhere is kind of odd (quirky routing), the rest of the course is really neat. Very good mix of holes as one of the last reviewers pointed out, some tight, some open.

The green complexes here are amazing. Greens are extremely undulated and very smooth. They roll about a 9 or 10. Great greens. Tee boxes were all level and in good shape. Fairways are hard pan, but are greening back up from the dormant phase. However, beware, they were aerating some of the fairways the day I played, so they may be punched, you will want to call them to see what the deal is with the fairways.

I was much more impressed with this course the second time around. Can't wait to go back and play again.

Due to the awesome staff in the pro shop and them helping me get a tee time early on a fully booked saturday morning, me and my group made the trek back out to Summerly. I can't say enough about the staff and management out there. They are going out of their way to garner customer loyalty and they officially have mine. This place is pretty much booked up everyday thus far. They don't need to be going out of their way like this and they are. This is some five star treatment and I will keep going back as long as this continues.

As for the course, it is still in great shape. I agree with the last review about the greens being kind of slow. Probably about a seven or eight tops, but I will say that they are smooth. And I am almost happy to sacrifice a little speed for a true roll. From tee to green, the course looks and plays really nice. The greens are pretty firm, so unless you put some spin on your approach, count on it rolling out quite a bit.

I don't think this course is as hard as its slope and rating. Both rounds I've played here, I've had no problem scoring well. That being said, I'm sure my next visit I'll shoot 174. Can't wait to go back again, but will probably wait till they get the yardage books. So many hazards on the course, it can get a little frustrating not knowing if a perfect drive will actually be playable.

Good job Summerly, you guys are doing great, please keep it up!
