Absolutely love this place - the rains have been very kind. The staff and facility great as usual. Tee boxes in great shape with nice coverage and little to no divot damage. Most all of the fairways are very thick, lush and green!! There are a few holes near the water features that have very tight lies thanks to the coots who have taken them over. The rough is extremely thick and it was hard to find shots that found it. The traps around the greens were damp still but had nice sand in them. The fairway bunkers I found were damp and a mixture of sand and dirt - made it an adventure. The greens are looking nice and holding shots fairly well with some roll out. The green speeds were slower than other visits to the course. The scenery was as good as I've ever seen it - nice to look at between shots!! Rates are very reasonable and pace of play was right at four hours. Definitely worth the drive!!

We were on the course Monday after the Christmas Holiday and it was cold. We were met by about an hour or so frost delay so we had a breakfast burrito in the snack shop. The frost cleared and we were off on hole #2 with a shot gun start. this course can be played from 5,800 to over 7,000 yards. We played from the blacks and it is a nice challenge. The pace was good all the way until we reached #1 as they were still fitting in groups we only had to wait about 10 minutes.

The course is in great shape with some of the tightest cut fairways I have ever played. There were very few divots or bare spots on the fairways or rough. The only bad thing was all the leaves from the trees would blow onto the fairways. The ground crew was on top of it in the am but the wind won the battle as the day went on. The greens were soft but fast. I loved putting on them and approach shots would stick. there were no real bad spots on any of the greens.

This course is a resort quality course at a great price. I will be playing more often!.

I Highly recommend you give it a try.

Played with family here today and had a wonderful time.

THE GOOD- Conditions are spectacular right now. The tee's, Fairways, Greens and Rough were all in tip top shape. Very lush and nothing comes to mind that would alter my ratings.

The BAD- We had a one hour frost delay and they did not open the driving range before the delay was lifted and we had to go out on the course without any warm ups or putting which is why I got a 7 on the first hole of the shotgun start.

The sand was either powder and bright white perfection or rock hard compact wet dirt (did not play like sand) It does look look like they are working on it though as I did see two traps under repair.

The Ugly- The guy in the proshop was a jerk he just did not care at all and any time you would ask a question he answered in a very negative tone.

No cart girl! AND THE WIND!!!!!!!!!!! it was tough today with gusts to 30+ on the course which made the wind chill right around freezing.

IN all everyone should play this course as it was $45 rack rate today and in my book a great value for the conditions which could easy be mistaken for a $150 course.

Course was in great condition, greens were in great shape and fast. We played at 10:30am and very impressed with the condition of the course. Best keep secret, good track.

Played today, got out in front of a Pepsi min-tour event with a good rate of $37. What a difference a couple months make!!

Since sngernz review in mid-September, the course closed for nearly a month for overseeding. Re-opened this week with cart path only until next week - if you play before then be advised this course can take a serious hit on POP due to the typical clientele. However, it's a reasonable trade-off given the rate and conditions

Overall, everything is in good to very good condition. Fairways are still a little thin with a few small bare spots (hubcap size or smaller) that are being re-seeded. Tees have good coverage and are level, but also a little thin until the grass matures.

Rough is medium length and lush but the ball sits down pretty easily - again, this will change as it matures. Sand was ok, kinda heavy but there were several people working in traps throughout the course so this should improve over the next few weeks.

The greens were somewhat soft, shots would stop and back up with short irons, only a few feet of roll out with mid-irons. Very smooth (no play for 3 weeks = almost no ball marks - yay!) and pretty quick - my guess is somewhere between 10-11 to start and getting faster as the day progressed.

Recommended now and DEFINITELY recommended in a couple weeks as conditions continue improve.

Out to Soboba with the Dawgs for a very hot Sunday mid-morning round (pre pay event so I don't know the green fee). Decent grass range and perfect putting got me ready ... and then I saw the fairways. In a word: terrible. Mixed grasses but mostly extreme hardpan and patchy. Rough was worse. So many bad lies ... should've played LCP. Poa greens were great, although density varied from green to green, as were most bunkers (not all, for sure). Very apparent that the drought has put this course deep into the doldrums of summer. The bones are intact, nice tree lined layout and may H2O hazards. Clubhouse nice, good food. It may have a chance after aeration if they over seed. Otherwise it's a toss up: if you live out that way it's okay to play, but for someone who has to drive, I'll pass. Not recommended at this time.

Encouraged by positive recent reviews, we played today at 11:28am teetime as a 2some and finished in about 3 1/2 hrs, thanks to the 4some that let us play thru at the 11th hole. My 3rd time playing here but it has been couple of years since my last visit. With tree lined fairways and many water hazards, this course is challenging but fun to play. However, something must have happened since 2 prior reviews in June and July. Other than the greens which are still in very good shape, tees and fairways were very shaggy and spotty. Either the heat of August has taken its toll or they must have cut back on watering the fairways. Fairways have numerous burned out spots (not large ones but many many of them) and ground feels crusty and hard.
Greens were great as they held shots well and didn't have too many divot marks. However, they putted much slower than they looked so had difficult time trying to get the ball to the hole all day.
It's still a nice course with good scenery and challenging layout. However, given today's fairway conditions, it's just not visually appealing at this time. I'd be hesitant to recommend under today's conditions.

Out early this Sunday morning and finished in under four hours. The staff is always great here each time I've visited over the past several years. Great shape from tee box to green. The tee boxes were in good shape - a few may have needed a cut though. The fairways were very good with only a couple thin areas seen throughout the round. The rough was not to terrible - but did make finding some shots a little hard. This course has quite a free trees lining many of the holes, so tee shots need to stay clear of them. The traps were the only real bummer today - many were very damp and shaggy around the edges. I found myself in several traps fairway and green side - frustrating they were so damp considering they have such good sand in them! The greens were a little slower than we have found here in the past - sure the heat and wind were the reason. Green fees are great weekday and weekends for the quality of golf offered! Great course if you make the drive!!

Played this morning, no special deal, just the regular $37 senior weekday (55+) - goes down next week to $35. Given the conditions (details below), there's no place around (or maybe in all of SoCal) that delivers a better value.

If you know Soboba, this is about as good as it gets. Conditions are nearly equal to their web.com tour weekend conditions, the only real difference being the greens are (thankfully) more receptive and not as fast (they're still fairly fast, but not "putting downhill on a gym floor" fast). Have some newer people in the pro shop, very personable and enthusiastic.

Grass on tees and fairways was lush but nicely mowed, never had a "thin" lie all day. Only exception is a small patch on # 6 that was recently sodded, due to trees and fairway direction that hole is by far the biggest challenge for the superintendent but he's done a great job.

Rough is not long but quite thick in most locations - generally the ball nestles down a little but usually doesn't drop all the way down to the bottom (with the occasional pleasant surprise of sitting up clean as if in the fairway). However, it's also thick enough to affect club and shot choice if you're hitting anything longer than about a 9i.

Tees were in nice shape - couple are not quite level across the whole box area but you can usually find a spot that is. Divot damage was minimal, even on the par 3's. (A note about the tee markers - the current Black tee's are the old, pre-tour blues and the blue's are the old whites. I think it was their way of kinda "forcing the issue" to have people play the correct tees for their ability level and it seems to work pretty well.)

Bunkers have good sand with a few small pebbles randomly mixed in. They've been working on a few to bring them back to what they were a few years ago and those are in excellent shape with fairly fluffy sand (though a little heavy underneath early in the day). They're sneaky about the repair work - the left front one on #15 was close and marked as ground under repair but you could NOT tell from the tee - they use a white covering that looks exactly the same until you get to within 30-40 yards!

As noted above, greens were fairly fast and rolled wonderfully. They would hold good shots (usually one hop and stop) but if you come in low it will release to the back or all the way through - something to remember because long on a lot of these holes is NOT a good place to be! Be careful with short putts, you won't get bailed out if you misplay it - however, ff you play the right line and speed you can drop putts from long distance (birdied #11 from about 45 feet with a good 6-foot break going downhill to a front pin - for those familiar with that hole you'll understand why I say this was my best putt EVER!)

Given the current conditions and pricing, I HIGHLY recommend playing here soon before the summer heat takes hold.
