Played Siena on Saturday Aug. 24. I was very impressed by the conditions of the course. Tee to green the course was nice. We did have about a 20 min delay from our Tee time, still the course played in about 4 hours on a sat morning.

The only issues i found with the course were the bunkers needing some work. some were soft and others hard as rock. several fairway bunkers on the first 3 holes had standing water in them.

The fairways were soft but in great shape with some areas beat up by the players not sanding divots. The rough was consistent at 2-3" and would stop any ball that found its way into it. The greens were a little furry but still not bad. They were soft and held most shots.

I enjoyed the day at Siena and it is a course i would definitely play again when visiting the Vegas area.

Playing Cascata on Friday Aug. 23rd was by far the most over the top golf experience I have ever had. From the excellent service by the entire staff, the great breakfast with some new friends, to the course it self. It was such a pleasure to spend the day with the GK Gurus at Cascata. The fantastic experience started in clubhouse and continued on to the practice facility. It was a little tough getting focused to play when there were long horn sheep on the driving range, Oh did I mention the waterfall from the top of the hill above the range down through the clubhouse. That being said perfect new balls and great turf made the warm up easy.

I don't have much to say as far as conditions because it was perfect tee to green. I would be really pressing to find any faults with this course. Flat tee boxes, smooth tight fairways, 1-2" rough, soft white sand, and fast true greens. The 4 Caddie KC was very knowledgeable of the course and his reads were spot on. He watched us practice and was good at helping with all parts of the game. Especially when he helped me make a nice 48' putt for birdie on 18 to get the "birdie chain" and a 40 to 1 bet from Matt( I used his money to by lunch).

Cascata should be a bucket list course for anyone who enjoys the finest of golf experiences.

Thanks to JohnnyGK and Cascata for a great day.

I Played Mesa Linda this morning (8/13/19) with my nephew Michael. I was a little disappointed that the range was closed for mowing (tuesday is maintenance day) with the range open around 8:30. When we teed off at 7:21 the course was wide open. We played as a twosome finishing at 10:20.
The course is in pretty good condition as we started but the crews were hard at work punching the fairways. I normally don't mind fairways that have been punched but the machine used was ripping 2" to 3" chunks of sod up in some areas (I would have posted a picture but forgot my phone). This said it was still playable and only a minor problem. The fairways have the usual dirt spots here and there from the heavy play. The tee boxes are in very good shape with a few spots from people blasting trenches with there clubs. I found the greens to be the best part of this course they were still a little furry and damp but played soft and true. the speed got faster still holding your approach as the morning went on. Holes 17 and 18 had been mowed before we hit them, they were a little faster than the rest. I don't recall any bare spots or burn areas on the greens at all. The bunkers were mostly soft gray coarse sand some being wet but good coverage and depth in all. Meas Linda is a fun course and has always been a great place to work on my game. I will continue to play and enjoy this course.

First off I would like to thank Johnny for another fun outing. I love your format and look forward to playing with the group again. I would also like to thank Linksoul for all the great gear thay provided not to mention to Golf Moose for the shirts.

Congratulations to Dconnally for his victory 6 and 4 in our GK Cup match.

I feel like the Champions course could use some TLC. I felt like I was playing my local city course not a resort. The biggest issues I had were the numbers of cart path only holes ( I belive 8 holes had some or all restricted) This is a big issue for the older gang. On the 18th green (the first time we saw a marshal) we were told that the carts could have been adjusted to let us play on more of the fairways. A little too late for Dave C and myself.

The course itself is a great layout with good greens a few thin spots but ok for play. They were fair to read and pretty fast as well. The fairways were cut very short and had many ground under repair areas (some marked some just bare) Thay were fair and you had to try to get a really bad lie. I found lots of sand this fine Saturday with some being soft and some very firm. The bunkers all seemed to have pleanty of sand it was as if you would have a dry soft bunker than a wet firm one. This was a bit of a challange for me and others in my foursome.

I would have to have a good reason to play the Champions course again. The GK outings are high on my list of golf activities. I would play here again with the GK events.

I had the privilege of playing with Rob1563, John A, and my son Mpisarski01 in the GK event. We had a great time playing together for the second time in 3 days. Reflection Bay is one of my favorites and did not disappoint. The course is in fantastic shape with lush green fairways and greens. The views of Lake Las Vegas are incredible. The tee boxes were level with plenty of fresh turf to hit from. I found my way into several bunkers with soft white sand. When I did hit the fairways they were cut short and I never hit into someone’s divot. I had some trouble reading the greens on my many long putts. They were smooth and true if read correctly. All in all I cannot wait to play again at Reflection Bay Golf Club and highly recommend it to anyone spending time Las Vegas. I would like to thank the staff for providing such a fine golf experience.

I played the Bali Hai golf course on Friday June 28th with fellow GK members Matt, Rob, and John. The course is in great shape with lush green fairways and beautiful greens. The rough is just starting to show some summer color and is in fine shape. The greens showed very little evidence of play (ball marks etc). They played a little slower than I expected but were still smooth. The tee boxes were level with great coverage. The tight cut fairways were near perfect. I found several sand traps and they were mostly soft and fully covered in beautiful white sand. The staff was friendly and attentive making the day one to remember. I look forward to playing here again and will make it a regular stop while in Vegas.

I played from the blue tees today. The course is in fairly good shape it is however not up to the level I played it on many years ago. I was not impressed with the practice area as the practice green was bumpy and very spotty with bare spots. The course is fun with many blind Tee shots. Some of the elevated tee boxes offer great views of Orange County. The greens were beat up by the groups in front of us with several ball marks. I did find several traps that ranged from hard pan to very deep and fluffy. This course could be so much more than it showed us today. I would play again hoping it lives up to its reputation.

I played the country club at Soboba with my nephew this morning. This is on of my favorite courses to play. I do have to say it has been in better shape. The tee boxes were good and cut much shorter than my last few times on the course. The fairways are showing a little burn and some clump grass is getting a hold in some areas. The greens were soft on the front nine and the new greens are very hard. Putting was affected by some bumpy (not spike marks or divots) spots. I did find a few bunkers and two were perfect soft white sand with two that looked like they have not been attended to in a few days, one had grass growing in it about 3” long. The snack bar was closed at 12:30 with a sign on the door stating out for lunch back in 30 minutes. With no drink cart I’m glad I had my Yetti cup and Gatorade with me. I have to say that I still enjoyed the day and love the layout.

I played the Players course with the Gurus on Wednesday. I really liked the layout of the Players course. The fairways were lush and green with the rough a bit dormant. They were in fantastic condition with no bare spots and very few divot marks. If i would have spent more time on the fairways I would not have had to hit from the sticky sometimes clumpy rough. Being mostly Bermuda with some mixed grass mixed I had some trouble getting the club through it. The greens were fast and true with some very subtle breaks. Even playing later in the day they were very smooth with few ball marks. The staff was on point and took good care of our group. The course is a nice challenge that I look forward to playing again.

I have to first say how great this course looks. The flowers were in full bloom the course could not look better. After a short frost delay we were off on a beautiful day with the Gurus. The course itself is flawless, the fairways are over seeded and a deep shade of green. The rough is just as green and very fair. As I spent a great deal of time in the bunkers and I will say they were very soft and consistent. The greens were silky smooth and fast. I had a difficult time reading the subtle breaks but was able to hit the speed on almost all of my puts. The best part of the course was the absolutely perfect tee boxes. They were all very level and what spectacular views. The staff was very friendly and helpful. This is what resort golf should be. I cannot wait to come back! Thanks again to Johnny for the chance to play one of southern California's great courses.

I played the GK event on the Nicklaus course Sunday and had a great time. The great service started on the practice range when one of the employees saw me walking and tried to give me a ride over to the range. The range was in great shape although it could have used a few more slots to hit from. Once on the course I had a great time playing the Nicklaus layout. The course played tough with the elevated fairways and deep waist bunkers. The sand "which I spent a good portion of my day in" was soft and playable. The fairways were in great shape with the summer grass starting to come in over the rye. I especially liked the greens with some subtle breaks but very playable and very consistent. The light rain helped with the approach shots staying on the green. This was a fantastic GK event and I look forward to playing the Norman and Stadium courses this coming weekend. If you get the chance don't miss out on playing at this great resort.

I played with Matt Mpisarski01 on Saturday the 1st of April. Having bought this for Matt as a Christmas present it was a real treat to play the Pelican South Course. Having said that the course was not going to give me an easy day. We warmed up on the practice range on the turf with our caddie Eddie watching our last few shots. It is quite different playing with a caddie. It took me a while to believe him and do what he suggested(I should have listened to his advise more). The greens were fast yet soft to take a long iron shot. I actually plugged a 5 iron onto the 11th green. The fairways were as expected this time of year green but still coming out of dormancy. They were cut short with a narrow first cut of rough and then 6" was not out of the question. I had several shots that I could only hit it back into the fairway a few yards from the deep rough. It made keeping the ball in the fairway a must. Once on the greens they played very fast and the subtle reads were hard for me to believe even with the help of Eddie our caddie (I should have listened to him).

The views and weather here on the Newport Coast are unbelievable. Pelican is a true resort course right here in our own back yard. I would love to play again if I can get a part time job to cover the green fees. If you get the opportunity to play the Pelican Hills take it and enjoy.
