I thought I would give this one last try, mistake!! I have watched this course transform from a good fun test to a disaster. The whole place needs investment to the point where some greens will probably need rebuilding. (including the practice green) The fairways and traps are dreadful. What a shame this course has a very good layout.

A friend and I played here first time as we had a 2 for 1 coupon. We will not be back,
even if it is free! What a cow pasture. Fairways all brown and bare and no grass.

I found this course to be fun except for the fact that the greens fee on this course should somehow change the apperance to the overall physical detail of a round of golf.

Played here Friday 26th, Course has really come a long way from where it was last summer. Greens were good. Faiways a little wet from the rain still, But this is a great Pete Dye design and has a wonderful layout. The Head Pro Tom is a great guy. I played in his group today. By Spring this place is going to be in the shape it used to be.

Clubhouse: nice and medium sized, very large clubhouse rest rooms, decent pro shop that does needs some restocking. the only thing that could be a little better is over all cleaning, but still nice.

Clubhouse: nice and medium sized, very large clubhouse rest rooms, decent pro shop that does needs some restocking. the only thing that could be a little better is over all cleaning, but still nice.

Food: I had the club wrap I think and man was it good, also included some large fries that had some type of seasoning on them that was very very good. Service was fast, the bartender even offered me a free piece of pumpkin pie.

Tee Boxes: as level as they come. I did not have any problem finding a nice spot to hit from. A few had short carpet like dormant bermuda patches but over all nice.

fairways: Smooth, semi dormant bermuda grass, a few wet patches from the large amount of rain received last week, the slope on this course is tuff. You had better be able to cut or draw the ball at will.

Greens: recent punching did not affect the roll on these greens what so ever. they rolled so true. a few had some bare spots. but over all in great condition, and nice that the grounds keeper did not put the cup cut any where near the bare spots which were mostly on the outside of the greens.

Bunkers: very DEEP pot like bunkers that guard a majority of the greens from the fairways. I will say that the condition of the bunkers is poor. One reason is all the rain that took place last week, but they could all use about 8 inches of filling with nice sand.
The sand is these bunkers is hard and mixed with dirt.

Rough: approx 2.5 inches deep, again some dormant bermuda patches, but forgiving and overall was not bare in many places.

Service: Joe in the pro shop was very helpful and just a cool guy, this morning they had to delay the start of play due to frost. So Joe and I through the rubber cup around on the carpet and played 9 holes of putt golf. The over all feel is that these people are here to please. I talked with the Head Pro and he said the whole course has gone through some MAJOR MANAGEMENT CHANGES.

I loved the layout of the course, I had a really good time here, I think things are only going to get better. I mean look at the last review to this one in with one months time separation.

Played in a tournament at Temeku on 11/15/08. Given the nice location (Temecula Wine Country) and cost to play, it is a shame that Management doesn't seem to care about golfers.

Played in a tournament at Temeku on 11/15/08. Given the nice location (Temecula Wine Country) and cost to play, it is a shame that Management doesn't seem to care about golfers.

The practice facilities give a clue about the course conditions. The practice green had many bare spots and the driving range was horrible. I don't like hitting off of mats, but if I'm forced to, the mats shouldn't look like they have been exposed to the elements for 20 years. I've never seen such a sorry excuse for a driving range.

The course layout is actually interesting and challenging but the course conditions are just poor. It looks like they water the sand traps but don't water the fairways...BROWN, DEAD grass is everywhere. I'm not a big hitter but I hit a couple of drives about 300yds because they run forever on the dead fairways. I also had a couple of shots roll back 30 yds plus because of the conditions.

The greens were medium speed and rolled true for the most part but there was lots of divot damage, bare spots, and some greens looked diseased.

To top it off many of the ball washers have water (but no towels) and the water drinking stations have water but there aren't any cups.

I won't come back until this place changes management and someone comes in who actually cares about golfers.

Poor course management no spacing on tee offs get em' off as quick as possible and let em' wait going around the course....best off to stay away from this course.

what a disappointment.
I made the one hour drive from home to met friends at was once a nice course, and wow what happened to temeku hills, I think they closed the course, shut off the water and just didn't tell us. The front nine is dead and gone, no joke, the greens and fairways were so dead and dry that they have started to seperate leaving small gullies. The back nine was somewhat better but after playing the front you don't really care anymore.
Someone needs to save this course
