Played here for the first time on Thursday, 6/21 with Larryq2001, taking advantage of a 1-day special, 2 golfers for $50, incl. cart. Check-in was smooth, but when we got to the 1st tee, there was a line of 3 groups waiting in front of us. So, we ended up teeing off about 25 minutes after our 11:14 tee time. POP after playing through a slow group on #7 ended up being about 4hrs 15mins overall, not counting the initial wait. Putting green was verticut, but greens on the day were not, but did putt at similar speeds. Course overall was in good condition. Other than one crowned tee box on the 2nd par3 on the front, thought the rest of the white tee boxes were pretty level, with good enough coverage. Thought the fairways were really good, providing plenty of roll. Rough was bit inconsistent, and a few times had a tuft of longer/different grass sitting behind my ball. Was in 3 bunkers and three un-raked footprints! Aside from golfers not cleaning up after themselves, they were generally damp and not cared for in the morning by the grounds crew. Greens were very green, soft and generally receptive from lots of watering. A Typical number of unrepaired ballmarks on the day, but otherwise rolled very smooth and at medium speed on average. Several of the greens have some wild up/down slopes to contend with, and putts were of course pretty fast coming downhill. No cart lady on the course, and they could really use another water station on the back9. It was low-90s with a wind helping, but really was getting beat up by the sun by the 16th hole. Bring extra water bottles! Very much enjoyed the Dye (not Pete himself) layout, and though there were maybe 2-3 holes that are a bit too tight or uphill too much, found it pretty playable and fun. Had a great time with Larry of course, and look forward to a return visit.

Played Fri Apr 13th at 704, check in friendly but slow, snack bar doesn't open until 730. Course is in good shape except for the greens, punched 2 weeks ago and they were large holes, it will take 2 or 3 more weeks to heal. Tee boxes and fairways were good I was in one trap and sand was thin. On 18 they really need to let the grass by the water grow out and stop making this hole so penal, friend hit 25 feet into fairway and it stopped 18 inches from the water. There was no wind for the first 14 holes, but then the wind blew hard on the last 4 of which 3 were dead into the wind, makes these holes difficult. POP was terrible 436 thanks to one of our own groups in front of us, no marshal, saw the cart girl once on 13. I would give the course 3 more weeks for the greens, putts were bouncing and hitting holes right at the cup and turning 45*.

2/7 birthday round $15 cart fee nice but BREEZY morning paired with a couple of nice 80 something guys that got a little tired by the back nine leading to a POP of 4 1/2.
Fairways a mix of dormant grasses a little thin in places but lies were acceptable. Not much rough accept in a few places mostly closer to the greens. Tees ok. Bunkers not so much mostly thin sand over hard pack--good for fairway but not around the greens.
Greens look healthy with good cover no bare spots and a few unpaired ball marks. Grass is somewhat grainy a little bumpy and about medium speed. Large undulating greens a good club club and 1/2 front to back--pin placements follow a red/white blue format but to add adventure holes are often moved laterally in the zone to further enhance the effect of the contours. Fun stuff.
Friendly welcoming staff and especially a well organized starter.
Layout is a mix of links style in a few holes and mountain journey in others--good mix of long and short holes even being a little quirky at times it can keep you from getting bored.

Booked a 7:00am tee time Thursday, knowing that there are always a couple singles and one twosome which get off first. However the starter was great because he asked the twosome if we could fill in behind the last single, and the couple were gracious enough to agree. Worked out great as we never waited and never held up the twosome. We played in exactly 2 1/2 hours which was a nice easy pace.

Greens were good, but too slow for my taste. Fairways had plenty of grass and were mostly green. Rough has some issues, but nothing serious. Only in one bunker, but it was fine.

Always enjoy playing here, some fun holes, and a few that really are all I can handle and more ( #6, # 12 & #13 ) Try to make par of them, but even walking off with bogey does not ruin the round. There are enough birdie holes to compensate, so I've learned to accept bogeys on those holes.

Some confusion at the starter as there were two tourny groups trying to get out, and then we heard 911 was called for a guy in the early group at the club house, then the starter just got us out. Course was in winter mode, it looked like palm Springs with the fairways partly green and the rough nothing but brown. Tee boxes fine traps hit and miss, greens very green and receptive. There were 2 fairways that were ridiculously hard and low cut around the water, when you hit the ball 20 yards in the fairway and it just rolls into the water, just not right. I mean on 18 3 of us drive the fairway and felt good about the shot only to find all 3 of us were in the water, not right. Hole 4 (par 5) had construction and they changed it to a par 4 and the club house never said anything. POP was good at 3:42

Played Dos Lagos, Saturday 10/7 at 8am. Went out as a 3some, behind multiple 4somes. We knew we were in for a long day. POP about 5 1/4 hours. With commuting back to Redondo Beach, I got home about 3:15. Also took an hour to get there in the AM. Loooong day.

But I gotta say, Dos Lagos is a great course. Even with no range (just hitting mats), only 1 putting green, and being a Par 70, I still love the course. From the blues it plays about 6600 yards and a 128 slope, I believe. So still a decent test.
A few quirky holes on the front 9. #6 is a beast of a hole. There are also some great holes here. #9 is fun. #4 is great, if you avoid the right side, haha.

The back 9 is a little more hilly, and also more parkland (whereas the front is more target style). #17 is a cool par 3, and 18 is a nice finishing par 5.

The course is in superb shape right now, but they are going to punch the greens 10/7 and 10/8.
Tees had some wear, but definitely playable.
The fairways had nice soft turf, but you still got good roll out on well struck shots. They had some overseed on them, but it didn't affect anything.
Bunkers were in decent shape (some were a little muddy until the sun came out).
The greens were pretty good. Nice, smooth roll, even with a lot of ball marks. They are punching today and tomorrow, I believe.

Dos Lagos is a great course in the Corona Valley. I just wish the 15 freeway wasn't 65 miles away...
I'd wait 2-3 weeks for the greens to heal, and then it should still be in tip top shape again.

Played Tues Sept 19th at 9am, they had a senior special and my wife and I played. POP was slow at 4 hours, could have been so much better, but a slow 3some in front of us and a slow 2 some in front of them. Been about 18 months since I played here. I forgot how challenging number 1 hole is when there is no warm up. Course was in ok shape, only 2 greens or so had issues, fairways were fine, tee boxes were moved back and you could usually find a flat spot. Off the course on the edges of the holes it is very over grown with weeds, tumble weed and such, they have allot of clean up to do. Check in was pleasant and quick. My wife has been sick and hasn't played for a while so I thought I would pick a shorter and easier course for her, but I never paid attention to all the forced carries from the tee hoxes for the women, at least 9 holes had forced carry which makes it frustrating for someone who is struggling and has not played but once in 12 months.

Ok course but there are a few in this area, if you have to spend the money I would recommend checking out eagle Glen over anyone in corona. Greens were kinda slow but that's the average for right now
