Our early on a very cold morning, but unlike Coto, which calls frost almost every day, no frost here, but it was cold. Greens on the front rolled very well and had decent speed, but the greens on the back were completely different, almost like there was a problem with the mower? Much slower and did not roll nearly as true.

Fairways are super thin, which provides some extra roll-out, but because they are so tight, makes for a real challenge. Because the fairways are so hard, tough to hit down and through, so you have to "pick" the ball on a lot of shots. Greenside bunkers had plenty of sand, but they had not yet been raked. Many of the tee boxes had a lot of divots.

As always Ruth in the shop is a joy to deal with. Just a pleasure to begin the day with such a positive person working behind the desk. Not thrilled with the price increase, but that's world we live in now.

Course is in good shape but I don't understand how with all the rain we received the fairways were rock hard. Makes no sense. Your thoughts?

Got out to Dos Lagos this past Saturday with my monthly golf group with a 7am tee time, three groups and a frost warning. It was biting cold the first 4-5 holes but then the sun peeked over the mountains and things warmed up nicely. We play from the white tees each time out and this round was no different.

I always enjoy the fun challenge at Dos Lagos immensely. It starts with some tricky, narrow holes and target golf, ends the front nine with a drivable par 4, then gets into some simple parkland holes and winds up in the mountains with drastic elevation changes until 18 which bends around a big lake and challenges you to get there in two. Super fun layout that I enjoy more and more with each visit.

Conditions varied a lot due to the extreme weather fluctuations so take all this with a grain of salt. Greens were the best part of the course but changed speeds a lot throughout the day, but coverage was good and they held shots well. Fairways had a lot of lush areas, but also some very thin spots as well. Rough could be just about anything depending on where your ball landed. Tee boxes were also a mixed bag with some very shaggy, some fine and others a little on the sparse side, while the same could be said about the bunkers but a lot of them that I saw were still recovering from all the recent rains.

No cart service was a bit of a downer and of course this course does not have a driving range so there's not a lot of reason to get there much earlier than your tee time, but it's still worth the drive and I will always look forward to coming back and challenging myself here.

Has to be a better way to reseed the tee boxes other than closing them all down at once. How about 1/2 for a month then the other 1/2. Probably wouldn't have been that bad if this course was level but... Continue »

Our super early as usual on a rather cool morning. (43 degrees) but no frost, so that was a positive. As always, Ruth in the pro shop was a joy deal with. Greens were as quick as I can ever recall. Plus, whoever placed the pins this morning, must have had a bad night, because they were some of the more difficult placements I have seen here. Fairways were very tight, but provided extra roll out, but requires a lot more skill to properly execute the shots, particularly the short shots around the greens.

Bunkers were not yet maintained but did have plenty of sand. However, ALL the tee boxes have been overseeded, so the markers were placed along side, in front of, or behind the tee box. Most were playable, but several were not close to level. Not a problem, just something you have to deal with when maintenance to preformed. Despite having a rather modest maintenance staff, Dos Lagos keeps the course in pretty good shape.

Out early at 6am in the dark, which allowed us to enjoy great pace of play and avoid the forecasted heat. Course is in pretty good shape, which is generally the case here. Greens were super receptive but were still reasonably quick. Fairways as always are tight but had good coverage. Lots of unraked sand in the bunkers, but I suspect that was because we were ahead of maintenance.

Always a joy to deal with Ruth in the pro shop. Nice to begin the day with a friendly person in the shop. I was advised that they will be punching greens on October 10 - 11, so glad I was able to get out in front of that.

Fun golf course at a reasonable price in decent shape. A good combination which is why I continue to return

Course is in pretty good shape considering the recent heat waves. Some bare areas in the fairways, bunkers were not maintained. (I guess because we were ahead of maintenance?) We had about 1/2 the greens mowed, and they were fine. The uncut greens were rather slow as expected.

Enjoy playing Dos Lagos. Not the most difficult course, but enough of a challenge to keep your interest and the variety of holes is fun. $37 w/cart for seniors is a good rate in today's inflated green fee world.

Out early on a very mild morning. Not very busy, which was surprising. Price increase - seniors now $39. (Maybe that could account for the decrease in play?) Dealing with Ruth in the pro shop is always a pleasure. One of the best people I have ever encountered handling the desk at golf courses.

Course is in good condition as usual. Greens were slower than usual, but because we were in front of the mowers, that was to be expected. Still rolled well and were receptive. Lots and lots of unrepaired ball marks. Come on people - please fix your marks. Fairways had good coverage. Bunkers had not yet been maintained but had plenty of sand. Many of the tee boxes were pretty chewed up.

Fun track, not too difficult but enough of a challenge to still keep your interest. Except for hole #6, enjoy the course.

Second off behind a threesome of employees on a mild morning. It was busier than I expected, but Charles in the shop was great and we were able to get out a couple minutes before our tee time. Pace of play was just a touch over three hours. Not great but having a guest who had never played here before, it worked out just fine.

I have played here fairly often, and never have I had such difficulty with the speed of the greens. In fact, all three in our group struggled with pace? The greens were OK, decent speed and rolled pretty well. Today it looked like I'd never putted before. Fairways were good, None of the bunkers were maintained, but there appeared to be sufficient sand in them. A number of tee boxes were chewed up and not level, but that was the only real downside as far as conditioning.

I knew they were going to raise rates, which they did! One dollar! I applaud this course for trying to keep their fees reasonable when it seems everywhere else does not share that same philosophy.
