played sat 11-16-13 in the morning. some drizzle, and cool temp. but we were prepared. we teed off ten minutes late because of internet double bookings. staff was excellent in handling the situation. They got everyone moving smoothly. this is how a golf course should be run.
the course is awesome. I love the lay out and only wish they would let you play the tournament tees, the ones that the nationwide used to play.
greens fast (even with the drizzle)
bunkers perfect
rough 2 - 3 inches
fairways awesome (like carpet)
pop - 4 hrs.
Staff should get a raise for being nice and professional.

played sunday early A.M. course is in good condition. Ive seen this course at its best and worst. Today it was average. seems to be improving. But only $39 with sandwich, not bad, greens o.k., tees and fairways o.k. sand traps actually had sand in them.

I only gave staff an average. the guy in pro shop great. the snack bar guy not so great. the coupon for free sandwich said free fountain drink, but he didn' t agree. to bad. I threw a two dollar tip in his jar before i asked for the drink. I should have reached in and took it back out.

played Christmas morning with my son. Played in 3 hours. Greens perfect. tee boxes, fairways and sand great. range is the best (tied with PGA west). $70 for a 7:00 tee time. If you play here, choose the proper tee boxes for your ability. Gold and silver tees should be for scratch golfers only. be smart, choose wisely. Go play.

Played Sunday A.M. pace was 3 hours. course was excellent. Worth the drive to play a PGA style course. Snow in the mountains looks awesome. Greens are in tournament condition, just a little soft from the rain. The sand wet from rain, but still played nicely. Fairways good as any I have played this time of the year. Go play.

Played 5/19/12 Sat a.m.... I've never thought about playing here, but after reading the last review, I thought it might be worth checking out. It was perfect. Fairly easy course to score on. But we didn't have any wind. The GREENS are awesome. medium speed. You have to pay attention to the grain, because it really affects the putts. The fairways are great and the rough is only an inch. The tee box was great, except maybe for two of them were not level. The grass practice range is very nice. The bunkers were poor. I don't understand why you have sand traps that don't have "sand" in them??? ANYWAY....the service was great, the price is fair and the course is awesome.

played Sat A.M. Course is nice. Greens are looking good, BUT SLOW. When do they cut the greens here.? The layout is nice. The staff is nice. The BLT in the restaurant was awesome. Will come again, but if the greens are this slow, it will be the last time.

played sat 4/14/12 in the morning. greens are fast and in perfect condition. course very green for this time of year. Great tee boxes. nice sand. you can find your ball in the rough, but still very difficult to control your shot from it. Rained night before and you could hardly tell. course drains well. These greens are very undulated. if you are on the wrong side or above the hole, it is automatic 3 putt. If you want to score here, attack the par 5's. Lady in pro shop and snack bar very nice. Cost is very good if you look online.

Played sunday 2-26-2012. Course is in good condition, considering the weather. The Greens are nice, a little bumpy, but quick. No ball marks on the greens. Every green breaks towards the runway at March AFB located east of the course. Fairways are o.k., sand traps are rock hard (WHY?????) They are spending money to build a new clubhouse, use some to put sand in the "sand" traps. Tees are nice. You can really hit driver here a lot. Par 3 holes are tough. Wind can really blow here in the afternoon. Grass driving range and good chipping green. Worth the money.

Played Sat 1-21-2012 in the pouring rain. It rained from 7:00 a.m until noon. Non stop. This course drains really well. Only one hole had standing water on the fairway. The greens were still medium/fast. very nice staff. The layout is very fair. The views are great. worth the green fees.

Played Sat Early A.M. 12-3-11. Was expecting very cold and windy weather, and it turned out perfect. Golf course is very nice. the fairways should be opened for cart traffic in about a week. Tees level, sand awesome and the greens smooth and medium fast. They really treat you nice here. Range balls (grass range), a very helpful tip sheet and water is included. Course is tough but fair. If you play the back tees, you need to know how to work the ball both ways. about an hour drive from O.C. Put this on your must play list.

Played Sunday morning. very quiet, not many people out playing with rain in the forecast. I haven't played here in two years, mainly because the greens were always really slow, but now they are perfect. The old saying "don't be above the hole" really applies now. Tees are level (played Back tees) and fairways are nice. Great views, customer service o.k. and price o.k. Very fair course, unlike champions retreat next door. The par 3's from the back tees are brutal, especially with the wind blowing. All this for a 30 minute drive from Tustin, definitely worth the drive. I'll be back.
