I play there pretty regularly and one thing that I have learned is that you can't try to overplay it or it will come back and bite you. There are some blind tee shots but for the most part it is pretty straight forward. It is a really nice golf course.

Played Greentree today. we started at 1:30 and made it around before dark. Surprised at how few were out there. Course was a bit torn up by the rains I think as there was a lot of ground under repair ... Continue »

Played Greentree today. we started at 1:30 and made it around before dark. Surprised at how few were out there. Course was a bit torn up by the rains I think as there was a lot of ground under repair and it all looked like water damage. I've never seem so many ropes on a course. Overall it was pretty good though. The greens were rolling pretty fast and smooth. Tee boxes were torn up a bit but playable. You might want to give it a week or so to dry out and firm up the fairways.

New clubhouse is open. First hole was fairly wet with a few ground under repair areas. A new tee box is being created on the 10th hole adding a little more length. Great staff and a very nice cours... Continue »

New clubhouse is open. First hole was fairly wet with a few ground under repair areas. A new tee box is being created on the 10th hole adding a little more length. Great staff and a very nice course. It's nice to check in with the starter on the first hole and not see rows of carts lined up. Nice change of pace from the typical so cal area muni's.

course recently aerated. In great shape. greens were rolling true. med to fast pace on the putts. enjoy the course everytime.

This is the High Desert's hidden gem! NICE course- lush and heavily treed. Pretty long as it winds through the different neighborhoods. Usually immaculate. Pride shows- although the new super needs to golf a round sometime to see what hasn't been kept up. New clubhouse is supposedly open now. I never have a bad time at this track.

Course was in great shape and I had a blast. Will defitantley play again.

First time that i've played this course and i must admit it is worth the drive. The fairways are lush and wide and the trees mature. the greens on the first 9 holes where still sandy but they where fast. I will be coming ack let's hope the club house is finished and the nightmare parking alived

I have had the pleasure (and I do mean PLEASURE!) to play Green Tree three or four times now over the last several years. We generally play on Father's Day Saturday, in conjunction with the Huck Finn Jubille bluegrass music festival. Each time I play here...I am amazed at the wonderful conditions of this muni. It doesn't play like a muni. I daresay that it plays like a country club.

That being said...don't go expecting "country club" amenities or atmosphere. Simple, spartan pro-shop, a nice little bar/cafe ("The Grumpy Golfer", NO driving range (two nets and astro-turf mats along side a decent practice green and a nice practice bunker.

The course is in REALLY fine condition. The grounds/greenskeepers do a magnificent job, considering the extreme temperature swings in Victorville.

Honestly...tee-to-green, there is not a course in Southern California that is as lush and green as "Green Tree"/ The fairways are just how I like 'em - - the ball sits up well on an emerald-colored thick padding that makes for great, controlable iron-play. No areas of divot damge (do Victorville natives actually care about taking care of their golf course??) The rough is also well-kept, not so long that it's too punishing...but - you're still better-off staying in the short grass!

The layout is pretty simple. Not a "tricked-up" course at all. What you see is what you get. Straight-forward par-fours and fives....fairways are generous (except #10 - - which is narrower but still very playable)

I kept thinking that it would be a great course for a men's club or church group scramble tournament. It's not too easy as to be boring....but not so difficut that it makes for a tough day for the hacker.

The greens are quite frankly, immaculate. Not very fast....but they hold all shots very well. 100% bent grass, not a blade of poa. No areas of ball marks, not a lot of tricky breaks....but - - really consitent! I loved putting on these greens. They are mostly flat (again - - sort of plain-vanilla, like the course...but this is refreshing) and in just great shape.

If you find yourself in Victorville (we stayed at the Green Tree Inn - - show your room key - and get a discount....Saturday 18 holes with a cart: $28.00!!!!) - - do yourself a favor and get in a round at Green Tree!!

New course manager needs an adjustment in attitude. His idea is "let anyone do whatever they want" - which included allowing three twosomes out in a row on a Sunday morning! Cutoff jeans? Ok. Five or SIXsomes? OK. ARGH. If he keeps this up it'll quickly go downhill from a nice course to a joke.
