Played in a tournament at Sierra Lakes on July 12. There were 3 tournaments scheduled that day and our group started more than 30 minutes behind schedule. Management gave each group a free pitcher of beer (after our rounds) because of the extra wait...free beer always smooths things over! The pace of play was very slow but it is expected in tournaments.

Sierra Lake is in great shape tee to green. The greens are medium/fast, on the soft side and roll very true. My only gripe is that there were quite a few unrepaired divots. Tee boxes are level, the fairways are lush, and the rough is thick enough to punish you a bit if you hit an errant shot.

The course layout is interesting with water coming into play on a few holes and most of the greens are guarded with traps. The traps have the softest sand I've ever seen and the quality of the sand is great. Sierra Lakes is not a difficult course and high/mid handicaps will enjoy the wide open fairways. From the whites, the longest par 4 is less than 485 yards and all of the par 3's are on the short side (longest is 153 yards).

The clubhouse and practice facilities are very nice and the customer service is excellent. An attractive cart girl stopped by at least 6 times during our round.

I highly recommend Sierra Lakes for all levels of golfers. The course is in great shape, the layout is interesting but doesn't beat you up, and the customer service is 1st rate.

One of my normal circuit of courses. Love this place. Although, they should have an education class on repairing a divot. Greens are riddled with unfixed divots, should issue a divot tool to every golfer and educate on how to use. This is the ONLY criticism I have of this course. That and would love to see a cart out there for us early morning crew with coffee :)

Played Saturday June 20th. Course was in excellent shape. Lush firm fairways, and smooth greens. Very playable and no complaints about the course condition. Was concerned, although, as I sat in line with 2 other players near the first tee, and saw group of 5 go out just ahead of a twosome. Concern warranted. Slow play, about 5 1/2 hours. On course Cart service was good, except beer was on the warm side.

PLAYED IN A SAT. MORNING TOURNAMENT FOLLOWED BY LUNCHEON. COURSE IS IN VERY GOOD CONDITION AND THE COURSE STAFF AND KITCHEN PERSONNELL WERE BOTH EXTREMELY HELPFUL AND COURTEOUS. ON OUR 16TH HOLE, THE CART WE WERE IN WAS DYING. WITHIN 5 MINUTES THEY HAD ANOTHER ONE TO US AND OF COURSE CHANGED ALL EQUIPMENT WHILE WE WERE PUTTING OUT. FOOD AND SERVICE WAS OUTSTANDING (AS USUAL). I USED TO BE A MEMBER HERE AND STILL COME TO SUNDAY BRUNCHES. THE BALL MARK PROBLEM SEEMS TO BE RESOLVED. WELL DONE!!! RUDE DOG

Sierra Lakes is in very good shape. The tee boxes were outstanding. This is not a very demanding layout. If you are lulled to sleep you can find the bushes that line each fairway. I did this on no. 11 and took a lost ball 7 after having a career round for the first 10 holes. We played in 4 hours on a weekend. It should be like that all the time. This was a more scenic course before all the houses were built. I felt bad that we did not have food for the little ducklings after the 9th hole. But my wife took a picture.

Played 6.5.09 Teed off at 12:25 and was done at 4:30. Course was in great shape. Wind kicked up on the back 9 around 3ish. Overall, was a great round.

Fun little course. Houses line the holes and I hit 2 or 3 myself, you will want to keep drives straight. Course itself is in pretty good condition, no complaints. It took almost 5 hours. Lots of seniors in the morning and grouped in 5's. Pretty good rates for what you get. All include cart. I'd recommend it if you are out in the area.
