ha ha ha beat the rain i woke up early and saw a bot of the sun so i raced to barona to have the course all by myself. what a day started out with birdie had 3 of them today golfed a 76 my beat outing ever at barona. the traps have water but i missed all of them today....... what a great day of gold finished in 2.20 what a day..........

Last time I played this course it was in great condition. This time, however, was a different story. The tee boxes were in good condition. Unfortunately, the fariways were browned out in many areas. The rough was in similar, browned out condition. The greens were recently punched as there was still a layer of sand on them. This didn't affect the speed much as the greens were rolling nice and fast. This was probably the best conditioned part of the course.

I've played here several times and I must say I have seen the course in better conditions. The tee boxes seems to have a lot of sand on them. The fairways were had many brown patches probably because of the dought conditions. The rough was non existent and I'm not referring to the hazard areas. Some greens looks like they were still recovering from maintenance. But after a while the greens seemed pretty typical of here. They are pretty firm and are pretty fast too. Sand was very good, although I was in the back part of one trap and the sand was a little thin. I did think the conditions on the back 9 were a little better than the front nine. Did see a pretty big rattler in the hazard on the second hole near the green so I'd advise not going in there. Maybe I'm just picky but for $80 I was expecting better conditions. I will be back but will wait a little while for the work to be done on them. Played in about 4 hours and 15 mintues. The course does have a great practice facility, big putting green, chipping area with a green side bunker, and a big range with grass tees. Get the Barona casino card and you get 20% off the greens fee.

started 9 o'clock. located at inland but very cool and fresh breeze. challengable and good design. decent fairway and green condition. quite good lunch at casino buffet no need to go over by car.

Course is in great shape right now. Greens were smooth and fast, probably between 10 and 11 on the stimp. Rough was lush. Fairways were a little tight but still a decent hitting surface. Been a couple of years since I played here and then it seemed they were skimping on water. While they are not over watering, I did not see any obvious large bare spots. Nice sand although I saw way too much of it today. They seemed to have added a few traps, possibly from when they had the Nationwide Championship here.

The course is pricey, even with a 20% discount for the "players club" card from the hotel/casino, around $100. The course stacks up any resort course experience in Southern California, in my opinion, other than possibly Pelican Hill. Visually intimidating but fair and a course you can score on if you hit the ball well.

My only problem today was the hole placement on 18; on the edge of a slope, so my downhill 8' putt turned into a 12' comebacker. Only 3 putt of the day and too bad it was on the last hole.

The course was overall in pretty good condition. The fairways were in good shape, but not as lush as I thought they were. The greens were also in pretty good shape. We played early in the morning and our round took about 4 1/2 hours. Greens fees came with free range balls.
