Played 1-19-26 in the morning walking as a foursome and finishing in a little under 4 1/2 hours with some minor waiting. Tee boxes were mostly level with some of them being on the thin side, and minor divot damage on par threes. Fairways for the most part were in good shape. There were a few bare areas, and some wet spots where they haven't dried out yet from the rains, but mostly good lies and decent roll out. Primary rough along fairways was 2-3 inches, in good shape and thick, outside that is 1-2 feet and lost ball territory. Was not in any bunkers but they looked to be in good condition and well groomed. Greens were in good shape, rolling medium pace and mostly smooth with an occasional bump mostly from unrepaired pitch marks. Overall course in good condition. Recommend playing.

Played Olivas Links on a beautiful Wednesday morning the day after it rained and the plan was to play with my in laws(not by choice) don’t get me wrong they are very nice just bad golfers. Anyway, I meet them at the course and we find it’s walking only. I’m not sure if they are willing or even able to walk but they say they will walk as much as they can and we decided to play. We teed off at 10:45 and no one behind us and the fee was only 33.00 so even if the in laws only played 9 it would have been well worth it. The course was punched last week and I think the rain actually helped because the greens had very little sand or punch marks on them. I thought the tee boxes were great, fairways seemed find and looked like they were cut recently but all in all I thought the course was in really good shape. We weren’t in any sand traps so didn’t notice anything there, did see a few sleeping coyotes along the way. As far as the greens, I didn’t notice them to be that slow, maybe a tad slower than normal but still very playable held shots well and when a thin shot was hit the ball kept on rolling off the green. The 3 of us played in a little over 4 hours 20 minutes mostly the in laws were getting tired as they weren’t use to walking a golf course, but much fun was had and afterwards we had lunch at the black bear diner down the street and it in the area it’s a definitely recommended provided you can get a tee time …

Walked the blues Monday 9/22/25 just before 1pm joined by 2 nice singles. Weather was ideal with maybe a 7mph breeze and temps around 75 degrees with humidity clouds and sun mixed in. Our POP was 4 hrs 30 minutes. Great people working here with a great practice facility.

Wow this place "lushed" up even since my last round here.

The tees were very green, lush and level. Rated 8.5/10

The rough is incredible. Super green, lush and visually stunning. Saw some mowers cutting the 1st cut around some fairways. Rated 9/10

The fairways have really improved since the last time I played here. Perfect carpet lies ball sitting up. Still contained some roll out on drives. Rated 8.5/10

Was in one greenside bunker on 8 that had just perfect base. Rated 8.5/10

The greens will be punched in a couple weeks 10/6 and 10/7 according to GK. The greens on the back were healthier, slower and very soft and in good shape. Front left section on hole 9 needs some attention. Overall the greens are nice and playable. Rated 7/10.

Once the greens are punched and healed this place if kept the same as I saw it Monday will be close to PGA tour shape.

Highly recommended for layout, prices, conditioning, staff, weather. They got something great here.

Walked the blues Monday 8/4 with my buddy Mark and a very nice single Delfino who will hopefully be a gker soon. Probably one of the best weather days this summer high clouds, 5mph wind around 72 degrees. Pop was 4 hrs 40 minutes behind a full course of golfers. Some of the nicest employees at Olivas..salt of the earth. Fairways were in great shape mowed super lush tight summer papsulum grass. Perfect lies rated 8.5/10. Tees beautiful flat lush papsulum rated 8.5/10 Rough just lining the fairways in beautiful shape, lush and around 2 to 3 inches taller than the fairways. Greens on the front were soft, pure putting great medium speed. Greens on the back might have been slightly verticut with evidence of diminishing sand several weeks ago. Putts still rolled fairly true with a few bumps. Rated 7.5/10 Was not in any bunkers but most looked to be in above average shape with a wetter based texture. If you have not played Olivas encourage you to get out here in the next couple of months as the conditions really thrive in the summer months. Highly recommended.

From 8/4 Loved playing Olivas once again! It was a beautiful and sunny day with wind speeds around 5 - 8 mph. Pace of play was around 4.88 hours. I note the following conditions: Tee Boxes: Level and green, no significant damage. Condition above average. Fairways: Green, lush, and defined from rough. Condition above average. Greens: Green, medium in speed, bumpy at times, with softness. Speed about a 10 in speed but tricky with tough pin placements. Condition average. Sand: well maintained and firm in the two bunkers visited. Condition average. Rough: well maintained and defined, about 3 – 5 inches. Condition above average. Native Areas: Native areas were wild with no significant maintenance that offered little to no recovery potential. Condition average. Practice Areas: great range, chipping area, and putting green. Loved Olivas! Customer service received was also great... An excellent public course in Ventura County! Looking forward to the next opportunity to play here!

Walked the blues today early afternoon 6/30/25 with my buddy Pedro out from Ohio. We were joined by a nice twosome. We had beautiful breezy weather around 70 degrees with up to a 2 club wind at times. Pop was 5 hrs 30 minutes which is one of the longer rounds I have played out here but when you are with friends, playing well and the weather is perfect we didn't mind much. Hit a couple range balls and we were off just about 5 minutes past our 12:10pm tee time. Olivas continues to thrive conditions wise. Fairways in really nice shape mostly all lush, padded and your ball sitting up nicely. The first two Fairways there are a couple spots they are still sanding/sodding but those are marked gur. Fairway rating 8/10 Tees also in really nice shape level and lush. Rated 8/10 Rough rating 8.5/10 beautiful thicker lush just off the fairways. Was not in any bunkers today. Greens were in really nice shape rolling around a 10.5 on the stimp. Very receptive to well struck irons. If you can negotiate the afternoon winds and the undulations in the greens there are some nice scoring holes and several hang on to your hat holes into the afternoon sea breeze. Recommended.

Olivas was so much fun! An excellent golf course! Other players on the course were miserable AHs! Our group was great! Groups in front and back were angry or disrespectful.


Olivas was so fun to play with a lot of unique holes and different challenges. Just an excellent course! The course reminds me a bit of Ridge Creek at Dinuba as it is a hybrid links and parkland style course, which is flat with good bunkering and strategic fairways that offer trouble along sides with hazards or native areas.


It was a sunny fun time with wind speeds around 10 - 15 mph. Pace of play was not great around 5 hours. I note the following conditions:


Tee Boxes: Level most of the time and green, no significant damage. Condition average.


Fairways: Green, lush, and defined from rough. Condition above average.


Greens: Green, medium-slow in speed, with softness. Speed about a 9.5 in speed but tricky with tough pin placements. Condition above average.


Sand: very well maintained, and soft. Condition above average, except for a large river rock in one bunker that I hit.


Rough: well maintained and defined, about 3 – 5 inches. Condition above average.


Native Areas: Native areas were wild with no significant maintenance that offered little to no recovery potential. Condition average.

Practice Areas: great range, chipping area, and putting green.


Loved Olivas! Customer service received was also great...

This is an excellent course that excels in consistency. An excellent public course in Ventura County! Looking forward to the next opportunity to play here!

Walked the blues this morning 6/16/25 at 1140am with buddies Matt and Mark. Pop was 5 hrs under calmer wind conditions maybe a club and perfect golf weather around 74 degrees. This helped me shoot my lowest score in quite some time. Met by friendly staff and warmed up on their massive practice area. Great seeing tons of juniors this morning for a junior camp on their practice area.

Greens were very soft and receptive today and most of the greens seemed to have firmed up on the back nine. True rolls I would say stimp on front was a 9 and a 10 stimp on the back nine. Rated 8/10

Fairways are in good to great shape with nicely tight lush padded grass. Only hole 1 and some spots on 2 had some gur patches that do not come into play.. Rated 8/10

Tees all level and in good shape beautiful lush grass on the par 4s and 5s. Rated 8/10

Rough was in good shape, lusher and thicker the further away from the fairway you ventured. Rated 8/10

Was in one Fairway bunker and 1 greenside bunker that was in great shape. Rated 8.5/10

Looking forward to more summer rounds out here. Great weather, conditions, layout and staff.

Played 6-10-25 walking as a twosome and finishing in under three hours. Tee boxes were in good condition, level with good coverage and minimal divot damage on par threes. For the most part the fairways were in good shape, there were some areas that were under repair and staked off, and some spots that were a little on the thin side but I never had a real bad lie, and the surface was nice to hit from. Rough along fairways and around greens was about 2 inches and lush. Outside the first cut is some thick native grass in the 6 inches to longer area. Was not in any bunkers, but the looked to be in good shape with nice white sand. Greens were playing soft and rolling about medium pace with an occasional bump. Overall course is in good condition that usually gets better as the summer progresses.
