Rustic Canyon is more enjoyable every time I play it. The layout makes it a unique golf experience. Fairways and rough were in great shape. Greens were nice, but some were starting to suffer from ball marks not being repaired. Finished the round in about 4 hours 15 minutes, although it could've been quicker. Hint for picking your set of tees: pick them correctly. This course will punish you if you think you are the man and you really aren't. It will also severely slow down the pace of play.

Yeah, you gotta watch that 16th green... it almost falls away from you. Anytime you're heading away from the top of the canyon anywhere on the course, it's more often than not downhill!

So, second off this morning. Pretty nice. It got a little warm walking in on the back nine, but I'm sure it would've seemed much cooler if I'd been playing better. HA! Both of the bunkers I was in were pretty wet and stiff, and the greens still could use better ball mark repairing. The flag on 10 was way back on the really long green so there were no ball marks by the hole... what a nice difference compared to most of the other greens. Other than that, great conditions, great golf course.

Highly recommended as always.

Played a little slow (4:40) with a 7:50 tee time. Fairways and tee boxes were in great shape, as were the greens. The greens seemed to be a little firmer and faster than usual. Bumped and ran a 50 yard pitch (with a nice smoothly lofted shot) that bounced in front of #16, slowly rolled onto the green, and continued to roll up hill to the back of the green, and over the back lip. Could not believe my eyes! Great course for the money.

I played yesterday in the afternoon when it was one of those 95, Pleasantly Warm days. I don't know about pleasant, but it wasn't unbearable heat. They were watering some of the greens about midday, but it only affected us on one hole. As usual, the course was in great shape and we played our round in a little over 4 hours.

Why not? I love walking this course. I've done it a bunch of times. Yeah, the walk from 9 to 10 is a little long, and there some elevation change at the top of the canyon, but sheesh, it's not THAT ba... Continue »

Yeah, the walk from 9 to 10 is a little long, and there some elevation change at the top of the canyon, but sheesh, it's not THAT bad. I carry mine, but the course has some really cool 3 wheel push carts if you have the 70 pound tour bag.
