This course is in superb condition. Played over the weekend. Greens were excellent – been used to playin the aerated stuff, must of blown 4 or 5 putts by the cup on the front nine. Settled down on the back. Enjoyed my round

Played 4/23 – I play Sterling Hills 5 or 6 times a year. Today was no different then any other day. The golf course was in tremendous condition with the service and hospitality being excellent. The drive from Calabasas never bothers me for the value I receive. I very much respect the Superintendent Chris Tivy who always takes the time to respond to my questions on his message board and does a wonderful job maintaining one of my favorite golf courses.

This course is challenging with or without the wind, which makes it a fantastic course. Fairways are lush and the greens are good and rolls true. Tee shots here are critical and of course, putting good makes it easier to score if you can read these undulating greens. I am a 10 handicapper and shot 86 with a 9 on a score card....therefore, it goes to show that you can still score decent if you mess up a hole. Some holes are easy while others are difficult. Par and birdie those easy holes and you should be able to play in the mid to low 80s. Par 3s here are no joke.

Played on Sunday am. Nice wx conditions. Pace of play 4.5 hours.

The putting surfaces are, as usual, in great shape. In fact we were all able to spin or skid lob wedges around the hole without fear of balls not holding. The flagsticks on this day were postion #1 (mostly tucked or right up front), making for difficult approach shots. Fairways and bunkers were in great shape as usual. This course is consistently well maintained, and a real challenge to play. Yeah, it's surrounded by home sights, but it's certainly a rare day that you'll find something to nit-pick about this place.

Greens are pure and speed is just right for my ability. Course makes you think before you swing. Course color is great!

Played with a group (three foursomes) yesterday (11/30/02) - pace of play for a Saturday was good. Fairways were a little thin and firm for my tastes - but overall, the course is in really good shape. Greens are fast, firm - but putt true - and - depending on pin-placement - can have some nasty breaks. Not a hackers course, for sure! There are some real honest par-4's on this course - I'm a 12 handicapper - and I think I would have enyoyed it more from the white tees. This is all the golf course you want - it's quite a challenge!

Love the grass driving range. Hate the long walk from 9 to 10. Wish the course would offer some sort of shuttle service to assist us walkers. Doing so might even speed up play!
