Lots of elevation changes and ravines. Front 9 very challenging holes (if you are about a 20 hcper, bring plenty of balls). Back 9 a little easier but still very fun.
Very well kept fairways and greens.
I definitely recommend this one.

Wow. My head hurts. Why? I have not had to think so hard on a golf course in all my life! My first time at Tierra Rejada Golf Club...I've been wanting to play it for a long time...finally made the time to go see what it's all about.

What words can I use to describe the layout at T.R.? Tight? Yeah. That works. Narrow? Yep. Target-y? Indeed.

Combine those descriptions with the fact that I had never played there before...with some 20-25 mph wind gusts...and you've got one hell of a day of golf.

But 100% enjoyable!! Definitely not a grab-your-driver and swing for the fences kind of course. I had to think and figure and add and subtract on every hole (just about)...I actually got "on in regulation" more times than not. Then the fun starts.

Greens are NOT fast...perhaps a little bumpy. They are TRICKY!! Subtle breaks on short putts made me tear out what little hair I have left. Finally got the hang of it and improved on the back side for a smooth 44-40=84...and I'm a 13-handicap...so that's about right for me from the white tees.

Overall conditions for February were quite good. A few thin spots...but not many. With all of the slopes and dips and up-hill/downhill you will experience, chance are you will not land and stick on any bare ground!

People told me before I went to "take a lot of balls". I only lost one (I swear, it just sort of disappeared) - but that's because I tee'd-off with a variety of fairway woods and rescue clubs.

"Keep it in play" is the order of the day at Tierra Rejada.

I will most definitely return!!

Twilight rates all day on Tuesday is another plus!!

Rating: About 7.6 or so...with room for improvement. But a good test of shotmaking, if you like that kind of thing!!

Tierra Rejada is a great golf course that challenges you to the bone. It requires a lot of focus and you have to know where to place the ball but at the same time, it's fun and the views are wonderful.

I once came here to prep for a tourney and the staff were great and I think I flew through the course in just over three hours (this was early morning though on a Friday).

I have a tourney coming up there in two weeks and I can't wait to see that place again... we have a date!

The views are wonderful, but there are a few holes which are kind of "quirky". I found the design of the greens to be the best part of playing this course.

I don't see why everyone loves about this course. You can't see most of the greens from the tees, some 2nd shots are also blind and the hills are a joke. There is something wrong with the set up when you hit a straght drive down the middle and it funnels off the fairway across the cart path into the dirt. Also you can't find a level tee area in the tee box. With all I have heard I was expecting a lot better track.
This course is not worth the green fees with everything else avalable in town. While I will not again pay to play this course in all fairness I must admit to the positives of the track. The greens were in nice shape and did roll true. As the afternoon heat dried them out they got really fast but remained true. The staff in the pro shop and the 19th hole were very nice but if I want nice people i'll go to Disneyland. What I truly want is a golf course thats fun to play, challanging but fair with some risk/reward and I did not find that here.

TR is a great course if you like side hill lies in the middle of the fairway and greens that defy gravity. The greens are nearly unreadible - what you think breaks is actually straight, and vice versa. I swear they have to put a windmill and a clown face on #17 too many undulations! I kept looking around for Ashton Kutcher to come out and tell me I was being punked. Actually three putted that bad boy after sticking my Lob wedge nearly 10 feet from the hole! DOH!

But overall the course plays really fast, you can get out at 2pm and play the entire course in less than 4 hours. I played there Tuesday and shot 3 under on the front side, then nearly gave them all back on the last two holes due to bad putting and errant tee shots.

I am addicted to this course though, I hate the greens, but miracle shots keep me coming back. Got an eagle on #4 after a 300 yard drive down the middle, left me a side hill blind 5 iron to the green, it ended up 8 feet from the hole, only wish I could have seen it!

The staff is unbearable though. Here is a tip for anyone playing there - just quietly go into the clubhouse with a smile on your face, pay your $80 and move on, otherwise its "No Soup for You!"

The range and practice chipping area is ok, the chipping green looks like the face of the moon with lots of pot marks, and the range is useless to practice accuracy.

Carts are old school GPS with green screens, come on! Plus they are off by atleast 5 yards on the short side so keep that in mind next time you play.

Views are nice and after a few beers the course is very enjoyable. If you are a spray golfer, bring a few dozen balls as you will lose them. This is target golf with pray as you go putting. If they redo their greens this course would be alot better and more true to reality!

I'm a fan of this place, but....fairways have a lot of damage/bare spots, and due to recent heat are heavily watered, not worth $80 during the week.
