Monday 1/13 at The Saticoy Club was our 58th Private Course Outing since I started these events in Southern California in 2021. For The Saticoy Club, it was their 9th time hosting our group and we can’t appreciate them enough. It’s a spectacular, challenging, beautiful LPGA Tour golf course. The event service, facilities and food are excellent. Every year we pick a special course to host our Day After The Masters Event, this year, as in previous years, it will be at The Saticoy Club.

Conditions on Monday were superb given our current 6+ months drought and November’s “Mountain Fire” that burned right up to edge of the course. Greens were fast and smooth. Fairways provided full dormant bermunda grass coverage. The lies were a little tight but consistent with good roll out. The primary rough had full coverage, mostly dormant but still challenging. Tee boxes were in great shape, we played the blue tees, lush, tight, some divot damage so not pristine, but solid.

We’ve played the Saticoy Club mostly on perfect weather days, once in the fog, some windy days but never with 20 to 40 mph winds. Once out on the course, I was happy to find many holes on the course protected by hillsides and large trees from the strong winds.

I highly recommend playing or joining this “players” club. Try not to ever miss an opportunity to experience an invite or event here. Check out the photos I posted.

Rode the blues this morning 1/13/25 as a part of the Golfmoose/GK event with buddies John, Ron and Mark under blustery conditions to say the least 25mph plus sustained with some gusts up to 40mph. Surprised the course let us out but we enjoyed the day! Pop was around 4 hrs 45 minutes. It was in the 60s and cold!

Friendly cartbarn staff. This would be a great club to join. 2 nice seperate putting greens, elevated big range with many targets and a seperate short game area with bunkers down the hill just right of 10 green.

Greens were in really great shape with a mixture of devilish downhill and side hill rolls on putts yet still holding irons and approach shots very nicely. Rated 8.5/10

Fairways were tighter padded semi lush grass in good shape rated 8/10. It was just a lighter color than the juicy green thick rough that can be a club grabber. Rough rating 8.5/10.

Was in one greenside bunker that had a great base of sand to blast out of. Always seems like the bunkers are in great shape here. Rated 8/10

Tees all level and in good shape. Rated 8/10.

The Saticoy Club is very much recommended! I love this golf course.

Rode the Blues (6601/73.3/140) with Ron, Mark and John. Very fun and relaxed group to play with! Weather was nice, calm, clear and warm.

Traditional, old school William F. Bell layout. Interesting holes with variety that feature lots of elevation changes. Enough tightness and hazards to constantly keep you on your toes w/o being overly penal. Plenty of well positioned bunkers and tree lined fairways with excellent greens.

Tees were lush and well maintained.

Bermuda fairways were lush and nice to play from.

Rough was often thick and penal.

Sand traps were excellent. Thick good quality sand and immaculately maintained.

Smooth, quick large greens that rolled really well. False fronts could be treacherous on numerous holes.

Excellent customer service from everyone encountered. Nice range and excellent short game practice area. Nice GPS on carts. No drink cart but adequate water stations on the course. Highly recommended if you have the opportunity to play.

The Saticoy is always a Dream! Once again, the Saticoy showed why it is, as fine as it goes. I don’t have enough positive things to say about this incredible course, it is a True Golf Experience. There are very few courses I can think of as far as layout, conditions, and environment that would be better. The course played its yardage, and fairways offered limited roll out on drives and approaches. The course is very well maintained and in overall excellent condition. The course layout is rated a 5 out of 5, conditions are rated a 4.9 out of 5. I note the following: Tee Boxes: Level, and always green, no damage. Conditions excellent. Fairways: Green, lush, and defined from rough. Grabby with limited rollout. Conditions excellent. Greens: Green, fast in speed, on the medium to firm side, and very tricky to read at times. These Greens are a true test. Speed about an 11. Conditions excellent. Sand: Maintained with excellent consistency. Conditions excellent. Rough: Maintained and defined, about 3 – 4 inches. Conditions excellent. Waste Areas: Noted on a handful of holes, and such were maintained with overgrown nature that offered little to no recovery potential. Conditions excellent. Driving Range: The range was scenic, hitting off an artificial turf surface. The range places you on a mountain top hitting into a valley with various greens and markers that are situated in an area that is fully grassed, with markers from 100 - 225 yards. Range balls were quality Callaway golf balls. Range runout was about 275 yards. Practice Area: I noted a very nice chipping area on a lower tier away from the driving range. Conditions excellent. Practice Putting Greens: Two mid-size practice putting greens were noted, both in excellent condition. Speed of the practice putting greens were consistent with course. POP: 4.5 hours – no wait was encountered on any hole. We paced ourselves accordingly. Other: Noted a beautiful clubhouse, restaurant, and golf shop, all were top tier. Customer service was top level. I think it funny when reviewers write that the tee boxes and the greens and fairways are all in great condition well of course they are it's a private club! Played there yesterday and the greens were verticacut and they were still very fast but that took a bit of the break out them. The golf carts are set up to carry four bags with two players which I think more places should do and that way you can actually walk like our member did yesterday. Also I'd like to mention that there are not "some" elevation changes at this golf course but every shot is an elevation change, there isn't a flat lie on this place you're either playing uphill or downhill except for maybe # 9 is only the flat lie there. The course is not very long but most of the front nine you're playing uphill so the yardage is longer than stated on the card and the back nine plays downhill which is very scenic. (#18 plays back up to an elevated green and they are not kidding to stay very left of the elm tree by the cart path, which seems out of play but I assure you it's not! I agree one of the best back nights inp all of Southern California.) and you're playing into the prevailing winds which cancels out the shortness of playing downhill. Super beautiful course, very challenging, reminded me of many courses combined such as Bel Air LACC the old Malibu Golf Club and some Knollwood because of the pine trees both regular and stone pines, just beautiful! Fantastic views on the back nine and of course if you get a chance to play here don't hesitate it's worth it! Go play!!

Rode the blues this morning as a part of the GK/Golfmoose event in group 1b joined by Marc and his brother Israel under beautiful weather around 70 degrees for a high and light wind speeds maxing out around 10mph.

One of my favorite courses in socal. Beautiful greens rolling around a 10.5 on the stimp, super pure with very little ball Mark damage and holding shots beautiful. Rated 8.5/10

Fairways mostly lush with great padding to compress irons. Rated 8.5/10

Tees perfect, level and lush. 9/10

Rough super lush, juicy and in great uniform shape. 9/10.

Was in one greenside bunker and one Fairway bunker that were raked and in great shape. Bunkers are usually lacking in socal but not these beauties. Rated 8.5/10.

Traditional semi-parkland style with lots of doglegs, some elevation changes, plenty of awesome strategic bunkering and I feel maybe the best back nine in the whole county.

Don't ever miss an opportunity to play the Coy.

The Saticoy Club is an incredibly designed Championship course that offers a wide array of golf holes that are always interesting and challenging. The course is built onto a scenic mountainside that runs proximate to several Avocado and Citrus orchards, and features views of localized mountains, and all the way to the Pacific Ocean. This classic beauty features large mature trees, strategic bunkering throughout, several elevation changes, along with occasional water hazards.

The Saticoy Club places premium on accuracy off the tee into mid-sized fairways, and into small to mid-sized greens. The course defends itself with well positioned bunkers, medium length rough, fast sloped greens, and funneling wind conditions. There were a few doglegs, but no blind shots. The course was always a fair challenge but required the execution of quality shots at all times, as being offline here introduced difficulty to achieve recovery, as any real championship course should.

The course played its yardage, and fairways offered limited roll out on drives and approaches. The course is very well maintained and in overall excellent condition. Played in The Moose event on 1.29.24 with fellow gkers Gary, Dave, and David and it was a blast. The weather was immaculate and the course presented itself well. Tee boxes were edged to perfection and had minimal divots between the markers. Fairways were like playing on carpet. Some divot wear but with a little luck they are no issue. Rough was tournament length. Absolutely brutal. No doubt contributed to p.o.p. challenges. Greens were in great shape. Seem to be rolling slower then they have played in the past but some of the pin placements called for it. 8/10. I would advise taking advantage of any opportunity to play this track. Very happy to have it on the moose roster.

Played here today in group 1B of the GK/GolfMoose outing. Event start time was 10:00 but carts weren't dispatched to the shotgun start until after 10:00, and as group B, we probably didn't tee off until around 10:20. Pace was slow, probably close to five and a half hours, but it was a gorgeous, sunny day that felt like summer, so no big deal. Fun times with Johnny, Ron, and Mark6M. Conditions are excellent. Greens are smooth, very accepting of full shots, and medium-fast. Sidehillers present the biggest danger because they can start turning downhill and get away from you quickly. Fairways have good coverage and provided good lies, although some fairways seemed to have an abundance of divots. Rough was beautifully lush and semi-penal at about 3 inches deep. Bunkers I was in were mostly good; well maintained but perhaps a little thin on sand. White tee boxes were good. I love any opportunity to play this outstanding course and greatly appreciate Johnny and Golf Moose setting up these events! Fun times.
