Played 3/5 at 2pm as the back 18 of 36 for the day. Starter got us out about 15 minutes early with another 2some. Course was packed due to the twilight starting time (and great weather, about 80 degrees). Got to 18th tee at 6:15 in the dark. We all teed, found 3 of the 4 in the fairway, and played best ball in.

Course was in excellent shape. Palm is a tad shorter than the Mountain, but has more force carries and water. Rough is longer too. The ball sits down in it. Fairways are in great condition, divots (almost all filled) in the landing areas. Bunkers were wet, which is unusual for here.

Greens were fast and firm, but will hold shots with spin. The greens look thin, and up close there's sand on top. However, the ball runs true with little bumps. They are tricky to read, you have to factor in the Stratosphere (low point of the valley). Anything towards it breaks more, anything away, and it breaks less. I have seen putts break uphill.

Always enjoyable and great conditions. Service is outstanding. Great putting greens and chipping areas. Only disappointment is the driving range. I'm not a fan of hitting off mats, but with the amount of use, I guess they're a necessary evil.

Played Friday, 2/3, with an early morning tee time along with GK'er John_T. Bags were picked up in the parking lot. Customer service was great, from the pro shop to the starter. Told at check in we could start whenever we wanted. Our cart was starting to die as the course host passed us after teeing off on the 15th hole. We had a new one just as we hit our 2nd shots. Only saw the cart girl once.

1st time on the Palm in 6 months. Course was in great shape. AP overseeds tee to green, including the rough, no brown dormant bermuda anywhere. Tee boxes were mostly level, only a few with damage. Fairways were pristine. Rough was short, and not very penal. A shot off the fairway usually only results in an awkward stance for the next shot. Greens were firm and fast. I don't spin the ball well so I bounce through the green a few times. Greens had a some unrepaired ball marks on a couple of holes, but were in good shape for the most part.

Played Friday, 8-12, with a 6:03a tee time. 2nd group out so pace was outstanding and we were done right at 3 hours. Greens staff was out early and the course was in perfect shape. For the dog days of August, the course was outstanding. Fairways were like carpet, rough was thick, and bunkers (except for the flooded one on 17) were fluffy. Greens were fast and firm. However, some of the greens had quite a bit of ball mark damage. The #3 green looked like they have been using the front left pin all week.

Overall, course was in great shape for the time of year. Water coolers were topped off. Customer service was top notch as always.

Played 4-22 with a 8:25 tee time. Tee off on time and got around in 4:15. Beautiful spring day in Vegas. Some wind, but it died out on the second 9.

Played 4-22 with a 8:25 tee time. Tee off on time and got around in 4:15. Beautiful spring day in Vegas. Some wind, but it died out on the second 9.
I avoid the driving range since it's mats only. I have a hard time hitting off them (I also seem to have a hard time hitting off grass sometimes). Practice green was great, speed was a bit slower than the regular greens.
Customer service was fantastic. Met in the parking lot for my clubs, check in staff is always great and I was told they will not punch the greens on Palm since they are in great shape (no lie there). Starter was not his normal grumpy self and quite cheerful.
Palm is in excellent condition. Rough is sitting 1-3" and fairways were in good shape. Greens were great, firm, fast, and had a little ball mark damage.
Palm is a great course, what it lacks in distance is made up my difficult greens. Holes 4-13 are all carries off the tee. 1-3 and 14-18 are park style (except 17, a Par 3 with a tee shot over a ditch).
I paid weekend cardholder rate of $49. Can't wait until June 1 when summer rates kick in.

Played Sunday, 4/10, with a 6:59a tee time for 2. Checked in early with the starter, who told us he would get us out early with another 2some. When the other 2 arrived, my buddy realized he had to go to the car for his sunglasses. The starter gave us a dirty look and said, "you'll just have to wait," when it was a 2 minute round trip to the car. We still teed off with the other 2. Pace was great and finished in less than 4 hours., Once saw the group ahead of us leaving the green as we teed, and saw the group behind twice as we putted out and they teed off.

Course was in excellent shape. They divide the fairways and cut them in different directions for a cool look from the tee. First few fairways and greens were wet and slow, but that was due to the rain and SNOW yesterday. Course held up well to the high winds from this week. Fairways were in great condition and greens had a few ball marks.

Only complaints (other than the grumpy starter) were the bunkers (sand was packed down) and the tee boxes (not level and beat up).

Angel Park (Palms) is short (6500 from the tips), but makes up for it with some force carries and very undulating greens. It takes a few trips around to get a feel for them.

Your putt will be faster towards the Strip and slower towards the mountains. Long walks from green to tees here. Service was very good. Bar was nice.

Played the Palm Course on Friday 10/8/10. Was in the best shape I probably have every seen it. Overseeding went well there. They are mowing differently...ie dark on one half of the fairway and light on the other...ie like Augusta does and it creates a cool/different look. The greens were putting smooth and true. There was a morning tournament that day so when we teed off (around noon) we were able to play in 3 hours and 45 minutes. Turf removal completed here makes the course have a more modern design/feel too it. If you haven't played it in a while it is definately worth a return visit.

Nice complex for a public course they treat you with some country club amenities: bags pickup up in the parking lot, cleaning your clubs after your round, ice container in your golf cart etc. If you haven't played desert golf you have no idea what you are in for. Keep it straight because desert is bad news here, the desert portion is not as manicured as some desert course I have seen and that makes for trouble....good luck finding your ball in a pile or rubble. By slope and rating it's an average course and it is....but only if you hit it straight. You will have the opportunity to hit over canyons if thats your thing.

The only complaint I had was that the pace of play was rather slow. There were no rangers on the course keeping things moving. Otherwise, the course was in good shape.
