Teed of at 1108AM on 5/2 for round 3 of the day paired with another 2some of locals. Decently busy, but still good desert POP just over 3.5hrs.

Course is in awesome condition! Fairways are lush and green, rough is thick but cut down so you won't lose balls. Greens are immaculate and rolling lightning fast.

This ended up clearly being the capstone course to my trip. The course is very challenging. Fairways playing firm and fast but perfect to hit from. Balls in the rough were perfectly teed up allowing multiple driver blasts on any balls that missed fairways.

I got an awesome online deal of $45 (normally $99) making this, by far, the best course and best value of the trip. Highly recommend this course for anyone looking for a A-/B+ level course in Vegas.

Had a buddy in town visiting so we got out to RR early Monday morning at 7:15. Check in at the shop was quick, friendly, and efficient. Their outside services had several people out sick that morning so one poor guy was pulling carts, loading bags, & starting all by himself. Despite all that he was really friendly and things were running on time. Kudos to him!

Tees- Above average coverage with only one box that I can remember not being flat. Normal damage on the par 3s and short 4s.

Fairways- Really lush and full coverage as is to be expected right around March Madness in Vegas. Cut semi-tight allowing for some nice roll out.

Rough- Lush and pretty thick. Balls could easily sit down and require some strength to get back into play.

Bunkers- Was in a couple and they had nice soft sand. Didn't see any issues with other players in the group either.

Greens- I'd say they were above average as well. Different mixes of grasses that gives that splotchy look. Some greens early in the morning were bumpy but that might have been an issue of maintenance not getting to them yet because as the day went on, they got progressively smoother and quicker. They held well and were rolling at a medium pace.

Overall RR is a fun track to play. Beware though houses are on the majority of holes. Most are set back far enough as to not be an issue but I can definitely see some wayward shots sending some warning shots across the bow. The layout itself is a nice mix of holes. You have reachable par 5's except #9 which is 571 yds from the blacks. Par 4's are a nice variety of longer holes and shorter risk/reward challenges. Par 3's are really fun. Although they're all similar in distance, they are all very fun and picturesque. One is all carry over a lake and another is surrounded on both sides by sand and waterfalls. Really strong set of par 3's in my opinion. Saw the beverage cart out a few times. RR doesn't get the acclaim as some of the other courses in the valley, but I'd highly recommend it and you can usually get some good deals here unlike many other courses in Vegas.

This is a review for non-resident players, because I'm sure the residents already know of this gem. Played on June 23, 17 at 0532 trying to beat the record heat wave. Forecast was 112*. At tee time it was 84* and when we finished it topped out at 96*. So it was totally doable.

Made my tee reservation via the course website paying the non-resident rate of $75. A little more than the better courses in the I.E. but so worth it. First the check in guy, friendly young man we made a couple of jokes and headed out to the carts. Was met by another friendly face who provided us with a free warm up bag of range balls and our cart assignment. After a few swings to loosen up it was time to head out to the course. We played as a two some and was paired up with a couple of singles with near equal playing ability. That's always good. I always get a little nervous getting paired with guys who play from tips.

The course is in near perfect condition. The tee boxes are level with good cover. The fairways were well groomed and freshly cut. A few areas with ground under repair and only a few brown spots throughout the entire track. The green semi firm, you could go for the pin. The greens were also rather big. I had a few long putts but according to my playing app still averaged 2 putts. They rolled very good and the players here seem to take care of their divots. Kudos to the regulars. The hazards are everywhere. Smartly placed bunkers with good fill of light brown sand, nicely raked and very playable. Water was in abundance on the course with about 8 holes where water was in play. Also I'd like to just mention the landscape in general. The course winds through a nice gated community with many palm trees throughout the course. Very nice scenery.

For all you non-residents this course should be on your play list when in the LV area, however my next trip will be planned when it's 20 degrees cooler!!

Played Rhodes Ranch early friday morning prior to bowling our first event at the Open Championships at The South Point bowling plaza. Along with three of my bowling pals we looked forward to a good friday of golf. Course was in great shape, no maintanence. Greens rolled true and probably about a 9-10 on the stimp. Tee boxes were full and flat, fairways were very green and was a true reward for a well hit tee shot. Bunkers were easy to escape from except for a few fried eggs that were encountered. Customer Service was on par with the fine conditions. No wind which was a blessing as previous day on the drive up was like a warm up to a hurricane on the 15 freeway. Go play it before it gets HOT !

The last round of my trip was at Rhodes Ranch. I had booked a 1:48 hot deal time on GN for $27 and it was well worth that price. I arrived early and the place was quite busy on a cloudy, not-a-million-degrees afternoon that brought out a lot of local players. Still, they got me out around 1:00 with a twosome. The front nine moved along nicely at about 1.5 hours, but then the back nine took closer to 2:15 with the groups more bunched up in front of us. The course was in very good overall condition other than the greens. I see that they are getting ready to overseed early next month, but the fairway turf now is a pretty nice and lush green rye (or maybe poa?). It seems they would keep that all year, but what do I know? The tee boxes were generally good. The fairways were a bit fluffy, so they did not provide hardly any roll-out. However, they were great to hit from. The rough was pretty good throughout, as well, just a little lumpy in places so the ball could settle in and make for some tricky recoveries. The bunkers were pretty good. The greens were not that great. They were very soft, very slow and very bumpy. One of the cart attendants told me afterward that they never seemed to come back quite right after the summer aeration, so hopefully the upcoming fall maintenance will get them back to normal. Other than the greens, I thought the late summer conditions at Rhodes Ranch were pretty nice. The layout is also enjoyable, and fits right in with the likes of Siena and Arroyo in terms of scenery and design. I'd probably rank it just behind those two. A handful of really nice holes (especially the par-3s) and then a solid mix otherwise as you work your way around this community. A course I'd easily recommend for the right price, though not worth breaking the bank over.

I have played a lot of the courses in Vegas and am trying to play them all. I had seen Rhodes Ranch on a previous trip out here and decided it would be the next track I played. My tee time was for 2:30 and the starter told me I could get out early if I wanted and got out about 30 minutes early.

The driving range, at least the day I played, was on mats only. There is a decent sized grass area that did have some divots but I don't know if it is available on other days. The course itself was really green and I could see while driving up to the course on a couple of holes the sprinklers were on watering the greens. The fairways were almost like carpet without a whole lot of divots and the few I did see were mostly filled in. The greens were very receptive. I did seem to find a fair amount of unrepaired ball marks on the greens. They rolled pretty smooth but I would gauge them a little bit on the slow side. I suspect it has to do with the insane heat and not cutting them too short to ensure they survive. Basically, you just need to get a feel for the speed and trust that they are not as quick as the look visually.

There really isn't anything hidden on this course as every hole is laid out right in front of you. Of the four par 5s, #5 and #15 are extremely reachable with a good drive. #9 is a man sized par five and I think par is a great score.

I played from the blue tees on this round and it didn't play long at all. This is in my opinion a course where you can hit driver as often as you like. I wouldn't categorize it as a difficult track at all and one that you could score really well on so long as you hot decent shots. Definitely not a course that requires a lot of precision but you can't get too loose on either.

My only negative is that there are no water jugs on the course. Although there are two bottles of water in the cart and I did see the beverage cart a couple of times, I managed to drink several bottles of water in addition to what was provided. You would think with summer temperatures being well over 100 degrees there would be water jugs throughout the course.

All in all a nice track that I will play again but not on my must play list.

Rhodes Ranch was a great time. It was busy but management got us around in a reasonable time frame. Course was in good shape and a lot of fun to play. We also liked how easy it was to get to from the strip. Some of the high traffic areas are a little burned out but with the amount of traffic and it being 110 plus degrees I am guessing in the summer it is to be expected. We experience wonderful hospitality while in Nevada.

Got the chance to play Rhodes Ranch yesterday on a trip to Las Vegas. I always try to mix in a round with a friend of mine who lives in Las Vegas on each trip. We have played numerous courses in the Vegas area. Rhodes Ranch is his home course but this was my first crack at it.

It rained heavily in the Las Vegas area Friday night into Saturday morning. Our tee time was at 9:32 Saturday morning. I called the clubhouse to see if the course was open and they let me know that if we were brave enough to play, then we were welcome to come out. We arrived about 45 minutes early to find the parking lot empty (as we figured it would be). We were the only ones going out so they told us we could warm up on the range if we wanted to and to go off when we were ready.

The course was in awesome condition from the tee boxes to the fairways to the greens. I could not believe how well maintained this course was. I would put the conditions of this course up against any in the Vegas area.

We were told that the course would be cart path only (obviously) but that was virtually impossible. The cart paths on a large majority of the holes were literally rivers 2-3 feet deep. There were gigantic lakes that had formed in the middle of the fairways and any low lying areas around the greens, which is obviously no fault of the golf course. I am surprised they even trusted us to take a cart out there :). We had to use the sidewalks on for the surrounding community on some of the holes just to get around. It was a fun experience that I hope I never have to do again.

I really want to give this course another chance the next time I am in the area. I think it would be fun course to play with proper playing conditions. Homes surround the majority of the holes but the the landing areas are wide enough that the homes dont really come into play. As I stated earlier, the condition of this course could not be any better. I will be giving this course another shot the next time I am in Vegas. I think it will be a little easier to play without the artificial rivers and lakes! Definitely give it a shot if you are in the Vegas area. I promise you wont be disappointed.

Course was in excellent shape. Fairways were beautiful but a little soggy at times as the ball would pickup clumps of mud. The rough was punishing in some areas as the ball would sink in (buried in long lush green grass) forcing to hit into the fairways instead of trying to attack the greens. The greens were consistent in speed throughout the entire round which was a definite joy instead of having to make adjustments per hole. The practice putting green was a good representation of what to expect on the course. Too bad the course can't remain in this condition all year round. Tee time was at 8:24am and finished just before noon.
