Bad Conditions Alert.... Not recovering well from overseeding, will take some time to get into playing conditions. Not worth the money at this time...... Greens were sandy, fairways were bare, rough was spotty, tee boxes were not good. Course should not be open.

FAIRWAY ALERT: Played 8/4/2013 at 6AM.
Fairways and rough are burned out. Three weeks ago the course was great.

Course is in good shape; much better than when I played in April. Greens are smooth and relatively soft for Siena, but pretty slow. Probably around 9. Greens were holding quite well. A few greens have parts that are roped off, but mostly on the side and pins were well away from the roped off portion.
Rough alert -- long and thick. Grabs any shot so no roll and very hard to hit out of. Fairways were nice, a few divots. Three or four holes are cart path only.
Bunkers all are filled with sand and pretty easy to hit out of; but firm enough that ball doesn't plug.
Staff is nice and helpful as is usually the case at Siena.
If you can stand the heat and/or get an early time (first time is 5:30AM), now is a good time to play. Driving range is all grass and putting green is very nice. Recommended.

MAINTENANCE ALERT: Played early on 4/13/13. Fairways are being aerated. And some are thin with little grass. Greens are fine. There are better places to play -- avoid for a couple months.

To say I am disappointed in this course is an understatement. Played here on the 2nd day of a 4 day golf trip. Made the reservations on the phone and told the guy that I would be using a Red Dot discount but when we arrived it had not been noted. So when we checked in the guy behind the counter told me that it had not been noted and it would cost $159 instead of $119 that was quoted to me on the phone because I was using the discount. Really??? We paid and went to the range. The lady starter could not have been more friendly, she is definitely the right person for the job. Stepping up to the first tee I was impressed with the way the course looked, but your eyes can decieve you.
Tees: Many had divot damage
Fairways: looked like they have not healed correctly. very bumpy with many bare spots. 5 fairways were cart path only and we were not told this prior.
Greens: Very firm and it looks like ball marks are not healing correctly, so the greens were light green with many yellow spots. the 9th green was sanded and we were not told of this either.
Bunkers: There are many on this course and they are deep. When describing these you can't use the word sand in your description, because there isn't any. If you know how to pick a ball off your driveway with a wedge, then you may do ok here. They are so hard that no raking is needed.
Rough: very spotty, just not good.
I had really high hopes for this course, I will never venture here again.

I played with 2 groups. The weather was great on October 8th in Vegas. Upon our arrival we treated to fabulous views and lush surroundings. We had a coupon which got us a cool rate of about $50 pp. Which included cart and access to the practice range.

The course was immaculate, the pace of play was just right. It's a shot makers course and you need to pay attention on yardage. Just because you can drive a hole doesn't mean you should. Course management is critical for a good score. Some of the tee boxes were a little thin and unexpected based on the excellent condition of the course. The staff was most courteous and a pleasure to work with.

I have played about 8 different courses in Vegas and I would say Siena Golf Club is a must play when you travel to Las Vegas.

You won't be disappointed. You'll be glad you added this course as one of your choices.

Played this course for the resident rate of $45. Fairways were in good condition but the greens were just average. They had a few burned out ball mark areas, seemed like i was fixing at least 5 ball marks per hole. Played behind a foursome who were hitting from tee boxes that they had no business being on so the round took a little longer than normal. There are a lot of traps on this course and my dad seemed to find them all. Overall i give this course a thumbs up and would play it again.
