Played 8-16-16. Found a deal for $24 including cart. Tee off at 11 as a single and finished in a little under 3 hours. Tee boxes were in good shape mostly level and semi-lush. Fairways were nice with a few brown areas but mostly green and good to hit from. Rough was cut pretty short and easy to hit from. Was in one greenside bunker that had gravely sand but still good to hit from. Greens were in good shape mostly smooth and true with an occasional bump from poorly repaired pitch marks. Overall course is in good shape but getting a little dry as they get ready for maintenance.

I played Arroyo Golf Club at Red Rock on Thursday the 28th of July. We had a 5:50am tee time to beat the heat.

We were greeted in the parking lot by a very friendly bag attendant and he got our clubs all setup on the carts as we went into checkin in the pro shop. Again another smiling face greeted us at the counter. We were cutting it close on our arrival so they sent us right out to the 1st tee.

I will preface this review with this statement. This course just fits my eye, and I really love the atmosphere and feel of this establishment. It has the feel of a private club and everything has the feel of upscale. We are locals and have the players card that they offer. It is an amazing deal if you are a Clark county resident.

We found ourselves on the manicured tee boxes right at 5:50 and on our way. The tee boxes were lush and level. The fairways were in great shape and extreamly lush. Of course they had watered heavily in the early morning hours so the course was wet. But that's golf in the HOT Southwest.

The greens were very well maintained, rolled true and were slightly on the slow side due to the morning water. Very minimal pitch mark damage. These greens are on the larger size but don't have much contour or mounding.

The bunkers are in very good shape and full of sand. The early morning watering again made the course play different as the sand was wet and heavy. But still very fair.

I highly recommend this course. If you are in the Vegas area I would have this near the top of my must play courses.

Arroyo at Red Rocks is a pretty nice track located in southwest Vegas. It sits right next to a private club and as it turns out, they share the same practice facility.

This is a pretty straight forward track with nothing hidden. Even from the tips, there isn't anything tricky about this course and it doesn't play anywhere near the 6900 yards on the scorecard. The fairways are really wide and forgiving with little to no divots. The greens are pretty large and fairly receptive. They rolled true and quick with maybe a half a cup of break away from the mountains and toward the strip.

The pace of play was really nice. I went out alone and they got me out about 45 minutes early and I finished in around 3 hrs.

I was in quite a few greenside bunkers and the sand was pretty nice to hit out of. One of the traps felt damp without much sand and the ball still came out nice.

All in all, this is a fun track in a really nice part of town. It's in great shape with water coolers on every 2 or 3 holes. I would definitely play this course again. The only thing that was at all confusing was the wind. I don't know if its always blowing like it did today but the prevailing west winds mentioned on their website definitely need to be accounted for.

Played here Sunday, 6/12 with sixpez using a free twosome voucher I won at a #gkplays. Course was in very good condition overall. Greens were smooth and about medium speed and held full shots pretty well. Fairways and rough were beautifully green and lush. Tee boxes very nice. The bunkers were the only questionable part of the course. An employee said they try to keep the course in this condition until about August, when they give way to the summer heat prior to overseeding. Definitely recommended.

This was the first of 6 rounds that Itslikeimsayin and I played on our Vegas trip. We played here Sunday morning and used a GK free twosome voucher that Mark had won at a GK Plays event. It was a great value for a prime 7:35 Sunday morning round. Apparently, there were some double booking issues in the morning because GolfNow and their own computer bookings weren't totally synched up, so there was a slight delay. We were paired with a single and teed off closer to 7:50, but all the workers were very cool and apologetic about the confusion and delays. Once on the course, we had to wait on most shots, but the pace moved pretty decently and we finished in about 4.5 hours. The course conditions were very good throughout the course. We weren't sure what to expect in the early part of summer, but everything was quite lush and green. Tee boxes excellent. Fairways really great with minimal weak spots. Rough fantastic and well kept. Ball generally sat up nicely, so it was easy to hit from. The greens were firm and not nearly as fast as advertised. I'd say "medium" speed and rolling smooth. The practice greens were rather slow and then the starter remarked how much slicker the actual greens were (so much so members seemed to be complaining about it). However, we didn't notice much difference in speed. It was my in head, though, so I left a lot of putts short. The bunkers were not great, which always seems to be one common issue with Vegas courses. Fairly thin and often with lots of pebbles in with the sand. Thanks again to GK for having such a great prize and thanks to Arroyo GC for donating the twosome. It's hard to beat a free round on this course any time of year, but especially with the conditions and ideal weather we had. This was our second time playing the course. I think I enjoyed it a little more this time. Enjoyable Palmer layout and very scenic setting against the Red Rock hills to the west. Worth a stop while in Vegas and it has become a pretty good value course for this area in recent years.

Greens are good. Medium fast, quite smooth, but also very firm.
Fairways and rough are nice and green -- some of the fairways have been aerated in places so spring maintenance is probably coming soon.
Bunkers are also quite good. Plenty of sand so you can splash out, but firm enough that there is no plugging. Tees are typical for Arroyo -- thin with little grass.

Driving range looks like the tees -- not much grass, suitable for warming up. Staff is pleasant, marshal and cart service were quite visible. If you want to play here, do so soon before the maintenance starts.

Arroyo was the final course that I played on my trip. After a chilly round the day before I wasn't too excited about paying $100+ for another 5 hour round in the cold. I searched around online for a deal and found one at Arroyo. Teeoff had an 8:30am tee time for $55 after a coupon! The rack rate this time of year is $99 or $129. For the price that I got, I figured what the heck. This was as good of a deal as I've ever found visiting Las Vegas during peak golf season!

It turned to be another cold day and there was a long frost delay. Free range balls were included which took the edge off the wait. Shout out to the staff as they got me out in an earlier group and shared all the information they had! The maintenance crew also has done a nice job. The overseed has grown in nicely and the fairways were very full and quite green. I noticed a couple patchy and sodded sections, but nothing that affected my score. I was able to clip the ball without any trouble. The quick greens were a pleasure to putt and our group canned some long putts. Part of that is credit to the design though as the greens don't have many crazy slopes. The tees were the worst part of the maintenance with lots of divots and some bare spots. I found a few bunkers and got some inconsistent lies.

Arroyo is an Arnold Palmer design that is in a community near Red Rock Canyon, in the foothills west of the strip. I wouldn't take a cab here, but it was an easy 25 minute ride to the airport for my flight home. I'd classify the design as a desert community course. There are homes on every hole so if that sort of thing bothers you, then I'd suggest staying away! All the homes were noticeable, but they were set back from the holes and blended in some with the surroundings. No doubt I would have liked the course more without the homes, but they didn't spoil too many views of the nearby mountains. The design itself doesn't have much elevation change, maybe a club max.

I typically like Palmer designs as they are playable off the tee so I can track down a couple banana ball drives. I wouldn't say the fairways are wide here, but there certainly is plenty of grass and bunkers to find a crooked shot. I played the black tees which play 6400 yards and could blast away with driver. The course has plenty of domestic vegetation and crushed rocks off the rough which creates the desert scenery, just without much target golf. If you go into the desert here, there is a decent chance of finding the ball, but odds are it will end up close to a bush. The biggest challenges are going to obstructed views of the fairways and all the deep greenside bunkers. I'd do whatever possible to avoid the bunkers!

Arroyo gets the nod as another Palmer design that I like! I don't think $100 is out of line to play here, this time of year.

Course has recovered from overseeding quite nicely. Greens, fairways and rough are firming up well. Some of the greens have extensive ball marks which falls of the other players' failure to repair. But the greens still rolled well and were a good speed, probably around 10.

Fairways and rough have plenty of grass and no dirt showing through. Ball did not pick up mud and lies were fine. Rough was thick enough that it should be avoided. Bunkers were firm enough not to plug, but soft enough to explode from. The tees have never been Arroyo's strongest feature and they are still pretty thin.

Beverage cart service was twice each nine. Driving range a little thin. Marshal was non-existent which was annoying since the group in front of us was two holes behind at the end and we were the fifth group off in the morning. But the group behind us was two holes back of us. I'll just chalk this up to playing on Halloween with the other people just dressed up as golfers.

If you are choosing between Arroyo and its sister course Siena, choose Arroyo. Player card rate is currently $59 which is about right for the course conditions.

12 of us went out for a group outing got very very special rate due to playing with a member. Course was in fantastic shape. No issues anywhere. Pace of play was quite slow in the beginning but did pick up after we talked to marshall. I think this course is very playable and has multiple tee boxes to include all skill levels. Easier then sister course Siena but these 2 courses are a great choice anytime.
