Had the worst golf experience here in my last 2 years. I would highly recommend avoiding this place if you want a quick round, or want to play on time. They pack people like sardines here. I went first off on the back nine as a single at 5:30 am. Then they started sending groups out one the front nine at 6 so I ran into lap traffic. They had a tournament start at 7 so I was only able to get 15 holes in. I have also heard from numerous people the same issues. So it's partially my fault. But be warned they pack groups out here like sardines. I like the layout, but it was poor conditions this morning. It was an absolute mud bowl. Flooded cart paths. Ponds in bunkers. The greens were soggy and recovering from a punch. Rolled okay but lots of trimmed glass clumps. Tons of dead spots. Yellow areas. Mud pits. Generally poor conditions across the board. The place is not cheap either. There was no mention of a tournament on their website, but it gladly took my money and reserved 18 for me, although when I showed up at 5:30 they only wanted to let me play 9. I then let them know I know how to play quick and can finish 18 in 1.5 hours but the starter proceeded to tell me that's impossible and argue with me. The cart girl is real nice and a great employee and tried to talk me off the ledge at the end of the round, but it was too little too late. Conditions there are horrendous there right now. Go elsewhere.

Played 8/18. 7am shotgun tee time for the Slashmasters 4-man scramble. Stonecreek is a park style course and has a good mix of holes. It has more water on it than most courses we play here in the desert. The key to this course is to play it down the left-center of the fairway on most holes. The trouble is on the right side where the creek runs.

Course was in pretty good shape for August. It had some burned out spots, but nothing too bad. It played very soft early, with almost no roll on the fairways. Balls stuck on the greens like darts. Around 11am it started to dry out and got faster. Greens were a little over 2 weeks from getting punched. They were bumpy and slow. They should be better in another 2 weeks. Rough was playable. Half the time you got a good lie. Can't say about the sand traps. Team didn't hit into any of them. Tee boxes were good.

Outside service was attentive. Bev cart was busy and came by twice. Small practice range. When you hit off the front, there's not enough room to hit driver. Good chipping area with sand trap. Nice practice putting green. POP for the scramble 4:45

Played here Friday morning second off at 5:20 am as a solo (1st off gentlemen let me play through) POP 1:50

Booked through their website for $42 including lunch/breakfast. Staff was very friendly and knowledgeable. They indicated the course would be a little wet due to over watering but that turned out to be a welcome delight. I could stick irons! This time of year most of the courses are dried out and you can expect firm fairways and rock hard greens that don't hold. Completely opposite at Stonecreek at the moment. The greens and fairways are soft right now without being soggy. The course is shorter at 6800 from the tips but with the soft conditions played full length.

The greens were medium slow to start as I was the first one through and began to speed up during the day. The greens were great. Few areas had some damage but nothing serious. The sand was good and consistent. Fairways were clean only a few brown spots. One of the holes had some remodeling in front of the greens but that was it. Otherwise the course is in great shape for a neighborhood track.

This is an old course. It was a DYE family design before Pete Dye went on his own and it definitely shows. Ol' Pete is my favorite architect and this is definitely a Pete dye course. The course starts off with some fun resort holes to warm you up but quickly turns into a tighter, mounded, elevated green Pete Dye desert track. There are some really fun holes (Especially numbers 6 and 7) water elements, and enjoyable shorter par 4s with emphasis on shot making.

I really enjoyed this course and round as it felt like a playable declawed Pete Dye course. It isn't too tight or difficult but you have to be smart with your shot selection. Only down sides were the views aren't the best as you run along a road and a so so hotel a lot of holes. Also there is open access running / dog walking trails which I am not a fan of. Golf course is a dangerous place and people should not walk around them so cavalier.

For a quick neighborhood track I had a blast playing this course and recommend anyone giving it a shot if they want to have a fun round with friends and play some soft conditions.

Played 11/12 on a gift certificate. 1:20p tee time. Course has come through over seed in good shape. It has a good mix of holes. There's more water on this course than most around town. As always, you want to protect against missing right on most of the holes with the exception of hole #3 and #8. The course was very busy.

Tee boxes, fairways and rough were mostly in good shape. A few fairways had some divot damage and the rough was thin in a few places. Nothing major. Greens were fair - good. Medium speed about 10.5 - 11. Most of the greens were riddled with unfixed ball marks. My threesome was fixing 3 to 4 per hole each. We also had a big problem with the sand traps and the players who played that day. No one was raking the sand and people must have been climbing out over the face of some of the traps. Who leaves footprints gouging out the face of a sand trap? I raked 2 traps I wasn't even in just because I felt bad for the players behind us. Also, there were a number of them that didn't have any sand in them. Just dirt and rocks. We weren't sure if they were ground under repair or waste areas. No one mentioned it in the pro shop. They had rakes around them so we played them as a hazard.

Driving range is on the small side. You can't hit driver if the tees are up. Chipping area has been improved. The practice putting green is very good. Outside service was attentive. Beverage cart came by 3 times. POP was 4 hrs 10 mins. Right now I can't recommend playing this course. Submitting 5 pics.

I played Stonecreek on Friday, 6/26 around 1pm. The course actually had some play going on so I teed off on the back nine. The employee in the pro shop was actually friendly which doesn't happen often at Stonecreek.
Many of the tee boxes were set in uneven areas and it was hard to find an area to tee the ball up. The fairways and greens had a lot of bare spots. The greens were ok. They had been aerated recently and still had some signs of it. They were on the slow side and hard to get a read on all day. The sand traps were inconsistent at best. Some of them were soft and fluffy and others were more like playing out of the desert.
They were watering the course like crazy while I was playing. Many areas on the course were soggy wet and balls were plugging in the ground. I was waiting to hit a pitch and the groundskeeper turned the sprinklers on me and got me pretty wet.
I only paid $15 to play and the course is 7 minutes from my house so I shouldn't complain but every time I go to Stonecreek I'm reminded of why I don't play it that often. The course is challenging and has some fun holes but the course doesn't seem to do a very good job at keeping conditions up.

6/21/15 7:44 am tee time, No. 10. In an attempt to beat the heat I went for a morning tee time and joined a threesome as a single. One nice thing is the Starter sends players out on the front and back nine until 8:00 am or so, in order to get as many players out before the heat. Made it round 18 in 4:15 or so. The green fee (~$40) was well worth it. Played the back tees and they were in great shape. Fairways had some bare spots and some wet spots - recovery from the winter grass. Greens were in great shape, smooth, receptive and moderately quick - true. Layout is fun and challenging. It helps to play the course more than once to know where you want to be. Some of the shorter par 4's require lay-ups into the wider section of the fairway. Overall, challenging holes with testing approaches - lots of fun.

The course wasn't overly busy with regular play but did have a couple of tournaments going off during the morning and afternoon.
I was a bit disappointed in the course conditions. It was soggy wet in a lot of places on the course. Most of the greens had so many unrepaired or improperly repaired ball marks it bordered on craziness. I had to deal with these on nearly every putt I had during the day. I saw better greens at the the two municipal courses I have recently played.
Fairways were decent. The rough was nonexistent and looks to be transitioning. Most of the tee boxes were not level at all where the markers were placed. The bunkers were in the best shape I have ever seen them at Stonecreek.
Overall, Stonecreek is a good play because it is close to me but I would choose another course. The prices they charge are a little high because of the location but it's not a bad course.

This was the first of 3 courses we played out here (Quintero gc, foothill gc, stonecreek gc) and it was our 2nd favorite.

Stonecreek is not a resort/high end golf facility but it does have a fun and nicely manicured layout. Fairways were lush and dark green, rough was all dormant and the greens putt nicely medium/slowish speed but pure. Compared to many of the usual LA city courses I'm used to, it was a fun time and nicely conditioned course but it certainly doesn't compete with any of the upscale courses in the area but at 50 bucks a tee time it is worth it for a quick round close to our relatives house.

Don't expect anything great here but would consider returning if I was in the are. Pictures of all 3 courses to come soon!

The staff has always been rude...I have been playing here for well over 15 years and that has always been the case with the staff. Played the first day the reopened after seeding so the course was not 100% ready. Slow, hairy greens. The course is usually in fair shape and they always charge more than the course is worth just because of the location.
