I played on 5/8 at 8:30. The course was empty but I got paired up with a group.
Range balls are included and the driving range was in great shape with good range balls.
The course was in good shape for the time of year. The fairways were in good shape as well as the tee boxes. The sand traps were some of the best I have seen. All very consistent and with a good amount of actual sand in them. The greens were fairly receptive but a little incosistent with speed. They were difficult for me to get a handle on during the round.
We did not see a beverage cart until late on the front nine but then saw her twice the rest of the day. They have water stations almost every other hole.
I think Vistancia is a very challenging course. The native grass areas are very difficult to get out of. Many of the par 4s are long and play longer when going into the wind. I also like the variety of the holes on the course.
It is a bit of a drive from Phoenix/Scottsdale but has gotten better with road improvements.
The pace of play was slow because of the groups I was playing with. It was a group on vacation and these guys were slow. What could have been a 4 hour round stretched to almost 5 hours. Some of it was the difficulty of the course but some of it was the players.

Played Trilogy on 3/20/14. Course is billed as the only 5 star ranking in the phoenix area by Golf Magazine. Tremendous club house with attentive staff. Practice facilities, Large two sided practice range, good short game area, with multiple pin locations and a good size practice green. Surprising that the course does not offer a practice bunker being billed as a five star destination. 5 sets of tees ranging from 7291,6868 6508 and front tees for the woman at 6132 and 5600. Slope rating from 135- 120.
Nice layout, fairways are fair with descent landing areas, however do not stray far as desert or rough await poorly struck shots. Several large and deep faced bunkers in fairways and guarding the greens. Several carries of 200 yards playing from the back tees, a few holes with blind tee shots. Greens are large with undulating surfaces, with many being two or three levels. Medium to fast pace and firm holding well struck shots rather easy.
Sand quality is good to great with consistent depth and playability. Water is present on only two holes requiring carries off the tee and on your approach. A descent test of golf when your controlling your shots. Course is set up as a links desert type style as including plenty of mature trees. If your out this way, a must play but from Phoenix about an hours drive in good traffic still comes in highly regarded and would play again.

Just played this course last Tuesday 02-12-13, and there was a b it of a delay due to early morning frosting due to severe cold weather conditions here in AZ. I love this golf course still for it's a very long course and very challenging in most aspects. Long par 5's and challenging short and long par 3's. Greens are in good condition, but due to some golfers not fixing their divots, there are some greens a bit bumpy, but most were in good shape and have very good lay outs, with pin placements that really post some challenges. Be careful and watchful where you land for it could be tricky and you could loose a ball on the big rough and desert areas. Great customer service as always and very nice restaurant. I love the baby back ribs they have. Driving range is already included and you can practice as long as you want with unlimited range balls, before you tee off off course. All around very nice course to play.

Let me start by saying that I had an enjoyable time playing this course. The staff was very attentive and professional, from the cart guys, the pro shop guys, the starter and the cart girl were all terrific. I was staying in the Scottsdale area and decided to play here due to Golf Digest's 5 star rating. They tout this course as the only course in Arizona to receive a 5 star rating. While I enjoyed my round, I was left scratching my head as how this course would have earned a 5 star rating. The condition was above average for sure, but it was far from perfect, many bunkers were devoid of sand, they were quite deep but with such little sand they were nearly impossible to play a shot from, a number of tee-boxes were chewed up as well. The layout was interesting, but I certainly wasn't wowed like I had expected. All in all I had a great day, but I'd give it 4 stars, not 5.

Cool and damp day, turned to rain after 15 holes. Course was in very good shape. Although the day was cool and turned cold after 15, it was a busy day. The cart girl, who was around at good times was giving free coffee all day, nice! Anyway the greens were in much better shape than the last time I played. They ran true, and would hold a shot, again there are some subtle breaks but mostly pretty straight forward,i.e. you can read them. Most of the greens are slightly elevated so be sure to account for that when you select your club. If you are a medium long to long hitter don't hit driver on #3 as you will go down into the wash/desert area. Fairways were lush, rough was in good shape, as was the sand. The native grasses are in play all through the course, and if you find your ball you can certainly play from there. Not a lot of desert to get into. If you keep it on the generous fairways you can score well. We had a very good rate from their website, and a discount on top of that. The course is easy to follow, complementary yardage books do help for distances. I do like the course, have played it a few times and will play it again.

Played Trilogy on Friday February 5. As a threesome, we played at a good clip. The customer service was outstanding and the course was in imaculate condition. The course presents some challenging interpretations from the tee boxes. Greens and fairways were in fantastic shape. Definitely near the top of the bang for your buck curve. Used Golfnow.com and saved quite a bit.

like i said i would return during peak season. wow, course was in great shape, tee boxes and fairways were just awesome, couldnt have been any better, lush. however the greens were slow, according to the management this was because of the very cold weather (frost delays) and the fact that they had been watered that day. overall i was VERY pleased with how green the course was. i recomend this course highly, i play everytime i come to AZ

i love this course... i have played it twice before and both times i played it during prime season... this time was a little different. i was a little disappointed with the course conditions, but the course still played great it was just a little rough around the edges. i recommend that you come out here during january sometime and get a cheap rate through golf now. will return during peak season

This is the 2nd time I've played this course. The "course knowledge" I gathered from the first time was very helpful this time around. Played 1/31/2009 with my wife and mother in law. Asked my wife after the round how she liked the course and her reply was "I loved it!". This is a Gary Panks design and it makes you think. There are several holes where leaving the driver in the bag is the smart and best play off the teebox. #3 is a perfect example with a ravine that runs through the fairway. Most of the holes are wide open for "gripping it and ripping it" but you'd better be straight! Anything off the green grass is gone! The greens are well protected with bunkers, but nearly all have a "run up" area where you can chip the ball on. The greens were much faster than I've become used to in the Tucson area, and it was harder to get shots to hold, but they putted very smooth and true. There are some forced carries, but with several teeboxes available, it's a very friendly course for women and shorter hitters. Plays much different from the various teeboxes. The staff was exceptional from driving up and checking in to leaving and loading our clubs for us. This course was just honored by Golf Digest as being the only 5 star course in Arizona. It's a great course, and with a price tag that's considerably less than its Scottsdale competitors. I highly recommend it if you're in the Phoenix area . . and I'll drive the 120+ miles from Tucson to play it again!
