Played for $45 after 2pm. Course was in great condition, especially given the HOT summer conditions. Course is visually stimulating, although not terribly tough if you play the course smart and use the yardage book. Enjoyed the experience.

Cant see how this course can get any better during the peak season for the price to be ~$250 but this was the best time to play.

Have played here many times but would like to add that now that they have "redesigned" the Monument, I like it even better. They've taken the 2 nines I liked the best and put them together. Now, from the moment we pulled in to when we left, we were treated like royalty, not that I was expecting that or cared really. But it is nice to know that Troon Golf still emphasizes customer service. The golf course is in amazing condition and everyone there goes out of their way to make you feel like you got your money's worth. Alot of homes around here, but still a special place to me. Man, you AZ guys are lucky!!

Played 2/19. Troon North - Monument is a quiet scenic golf course that is laid out in the High Sonoran Desert in North Scottsdale. Since it's a desert course, you have carries to landing areas, but it has five sets of tees for all levels of play. The tee boxes, fairways, sand traps, greens & rough are all in immaculate condition. Greens are large, smooth, sloped & firm. They were running about 9-10. The rough is not long or thick. It gives you a good lie most of the time. The course is well marked with yardage markers on the sprinkler heads, plus they give you a yardage book. Don't forget to factor in the elevation changes when selecting the right club. Course has a nice practice facility. Staff & service were great. Online rates currently range between $110 - $195, depending on day & time. If you like a challenging high quality golf course this course is for you. Submitting photos.

After playing the rather benign TPC course, I was brought back into desert reality by the Monument layout. Desert golf at its finest - lots of grass and lots of cactii. Actually the fairways were rather wide and there wasn't many forced carries from the white (silver) tees. The scenery was beautiful and looking out from the tee on some holes was just breath-taking. Greens were only average - very hard and bumpy. I didn't know how to rate the rough as there wasn't any. On all the holes you went from fairway directly to desert brush. This leads to a lot of unplayable lies from balls rolling off the fairway. Bring a Charles Schwab freebie or lots of cash.
