Played Tues 06/24 in the afternoon. This course is in amazing shape. I've never played during the "season" but I can't see it being in better shape. Tee Boxes, fairways and green were amazing. The greens did feel like they putted a little slow but that might be because I played Grayhawk in the morning and I thought they were fast) Great customer service

Played 06/20. I only played the front nine. Played the pinnacle in the morning and hit the wall after playing 36 on Wed. The fairways had been aerated recently but were ok. There was still sand on the greens but they putted smooth.
Very friendly staff

Played on Wednesday 10th October. Greens and Fairways were immaculate and in great shape. The views from some of the holes was magnificent. Pace of play was good. Still getting caught by these short par four holes and not use to playing par threes over two hundred yards. The landing areas are generous and there is less of the desert and scrub in play than on some of the other courses we played. The course is well worth playing and would definitely play again if in the area.

Very enjoyable round. The staff at Troon facilities never ceases to amaze me. The service was excellent and staff at bar, clubhouse, proshop was ultra friendly and helpful. The course was in great shape. Very hot, but dry heat. Being an east coast guy it was better than the humid weather we get. The greens were very quick and rolled true. Fairways were beautiful and in immaculate condition. Looking forward to going back again. Another excellent Troon experience.

I probably like Monument better than Pinnacle, I thought there were more scenic holes on this side. I thought the last hole is not a great finish hole but I did like the last few holes leading up to it. The par 5 that bends to the left a little. The drivable par 4. Then the downhill par 3. I liked that little trio of holes. I'd say the conditions of the greens, fairways and rough are similar to my review on the Pinnacle course. The difference was the sand on this course. I was in a few bunkers and to me the sand here was different. I could only describe it as cat litter like. I know that is the type of sand because it was consistent throughout but I had a hard time judging it. Only paid $115 for this round and got off at 7 am this time. There were a couple of early 4somes out there so we were making good pace until about hole 12 and finished at right around 4 hours 30 minutes.

Played on 7-15-11 went off behind a big group that was from out of town about 6 foursomes ahead of us and the pace of play was slow. They did give us the option of playing the other course but we wanted to play the Monument. I didn't mind as the course was beautiful and you do have to concentrate on a lot of your shots the ranger apologized each time he saw us and by the 17th he gave each of us a real nice ball mark for our "troubles" The only somewhat negative about the course was the fairways were healing over from bieng punched but nothing to effect the ball. Greens were just about perfect and the sand was real good. They give you a yardage sheet and it's imperative you follow it as some hidden shots on desert. They say the Monument is the easist of the two but, I'm not buying it! Fun and challenging course with great views. Weather one plays here in the summer or during peak season the course is always in great shape.

Played 6/23 at 9:15 AM, finished in 4 hours. Amazing experience from the moment we entered the parking lot until we left after the round. Top-notch staff all around, great practice facilities, and a perfectly-conditioned golf course that was tough yet very fair. Level, lush tee boxes, perfect fairways, playable rough, and smooth, fast greens that held shots great. Nice powdery bunkers too. It seemed that not one blade of grass was out of place. Lots of wildlife roaming throughout the course, and huge, stunning rock formations everywhere you look (a few are in play!). I have never experienced anything like this place, and can't wait to go back.

This is the first time I've played the course. Have wanted to play it for some time, but the green fees were too high (and are too high in peak season), however we got a pretty good rate. First impressions mean a lot, when we pulled in, the bag boys were there, courteous and pleasant. They said they were busy and had a large group just check in, but our clubs would be down shortly - no problem - until we saw them load the clubs on a luggage wagon! They actually just tossed the bags on top of several (like 20) other bags, much the way an airline baggage handler does it...I carry my GPS in my bag, so was a bit concerned about that....they actually saw us when we stopped the car and looked at them after they threw the clubs on the wagon! They were no where to be seen when we walked back to the club house...BAD first impression! The large group was checking in at the pro-shop so there was a bit of a wait. The range was jam packed with people waiting, so we weren't able to hit any balls on the range, and just went to the putting green. The course itself was in good shape, the greens were very firm (hard I would say) wouldn't hold a shot, but putted fine, smooth but surprisingly fairly slow. Some divot damage on the tees, again that surprised me as we had a 10 tee time, and these divots weren't from that morning. Fairways were good to very good. Rough was good, desert, well was desert!! The Marshall (ranger) Mike was very friendly, told us they had a slow group up ahead, but he was "working" with them to speed them up, however the round took us just over 5 hours to play, so the slow group(s) didn't speed up. Overall the course was fine, it can be very difficult if you don't place you shots in the right spot. Maybe I was expecting too much, and was put off by the "bag tossing" but I was a bit underwhelmed with The Monument course. I'll try the Pinnacle course later in the week, and hope that I leave with a better impression. Troon courses are usually so good when it comes to customers service, this lacked a bit.
