Pace was so good at the Kings CC outing (4:30, full field and us lollygagging and BSing) I stopped here as it was on the way home. I think I was charged $37 at 3:00 and that might have been the 9hole rate. With 2 hrs. of light, I mumbled grumbled as was on my way only to find many singles and twosomes scattered around the front nine. I had to get creative.

Course is a tale of two nines most likely built at different times. Front nine is tree lined and medium length. Back nine is more links style much longer and much tougher. Although routed through a housing development across the street the back is the much better nine. I really liked the finishing hole. Course was in very good shape all around. It's flat and walkable, except for a few long transfers, so if you get there earlier than I did and can walk it I'm sure it's cheaper. Solid $30 course

Quick update. JusGas88 and I played today and the greens have been sanded. They are still easily about 2-3 weeks out from full recovery. Rest of the course is the same as my last review.

With cooler temps and even some slight rain drops on a couple of holes, we pretty much had the place to ourselves. $30 to walk is doable but $47 with a cart is a bit steep.

Wow! What a difference a couple of months makes. This has to be the most dramatic improvement a course has undergone in 3 months. I needed an early morning tee time in the general area and Lemoore was really the only option as Ridge Creek was booked for the day. I was hesitant to play but pulled the trigger for a pre 7AM tee time.

I was absolutely blown away by how good the conditions were! I think JusGas88 thought I was going senile because I just kept sending him texts on how great the conditions were. Stealing the show were the fairways. The fairways on the front nine were pristine. Very lush and a deep emerald green. They were easily rated an 8 and probably could have been rated higher. Fairways on the back nine weren’t quite as nice but were still miles ahead of what they were in January. The back nine fairways were in the 6-7 rating category.

Greens were firm and rolled fast. They weren’t the prettiest looking but rolled very true. Getting a ball to check up on the greens proved to be very difficult.

Tee boxes were similar to the fairways in that the front nine boxes were in excellent condition and the back nine were a step below but still very acceptable.

I was in one bunker and had nice high quality sand in it. I had the second tee time of the day and had to wait on the group ahead of me on every shot on the front nine then got around them at the turn and zipped around finishing the back nine in 1:10 (walking), total POP was just under 3 hours.

Check in was simple as I prepaid online. I had the pre 7AM tee time which was a few dollars cheaper so it was only $37 to walk. For that price on a weekend with these conditions, it was definitely worth it.

Dblevs605 hit me up to play Lemoore. I hadn’t played there since the new management took over and they raised the prices. In short, save your money and play somewhere else. Course is in horrible condition.

First I’ll start with the browns. I say browns because that was the color of the “greens”. The greens were firm but did manage to roll at a decent pace. Nothing would stick on the greens so you had to play your shot for a lot of roll out.

Fairways were the low point of the course for sure. Spotty, thin, several dirt areas, and dead (not dormant) grass. Fairways were rated in the 1-2 range. Despicable. Tee boxes weren’t much better. A little more coverage but chewed up for sure. I actually avoided the bunkers but they actually looked ok.

Café was closed and all they had for “snacks” were candy bars. $41 to walk is way too much in my book. Other courses nearby are cheaper and in much better shape. The city of Lemoore made a huge mistake in changing over to Sierra management.

Course is closing July 5 in order to remodel clubhouse, redo greens with bermuda grass, redo bunkers and improve drainage. Sierra Golf taking over. Schedule to reopen Labor Day.

Course is in shambles right now. Worst I've ever seen any course. Fairways were horrible. Very little grass anywhere and what little grass was there was thin and spotty. Tee boxes a little better but chewed up badly on the par 3's. Greens were bumpy and diseased. A couple of the greens are now 2/3 the size as they replaced the diseased section of the green with regular grass/dirt.

During the covid shutdown a lot of maintenance was done on the course to bring it up to decent standards. Not anymore. Way way below average Muni course standards.

What once was a decent track at a reasonable cost to work on your game is now just a dirt lot with flagsticks. Avoid this place.

I played Lemoore Golf Course today and once last week. Course is in its usual Muni condition but I will say that during the Covid closure they did some great maintenance on the track. The real noticeable areas were the three ponds on the course. All of the tall weeds around and in the water edges have been removed and you can now actually see the water hazards!! Last week the greens were super slow. Today they rolled at a medium-slow pace but acceptable. Greens are average. Some of them have some bumps and bruises (brown spots) here and there but overall they weren’t too bad. Given the recent off and on triple digit heat of the past month or so the fairways were decent. Good coverage for the most part and fairly green. I played from the red tees which were in great shape. Between not seeing much use in general and coming off Covid closure they were fine. The rough was either about the same as the fairway or a little thicker depending on where you were. Most of the skirt areas around the greens were in decent shape. Certainly acceptable for an entry level muni course. I was only in one trap over the two rounds and it had nice sand. Nothing super deep but enough to allow you to get a club under. I played mid morning both times and POP was at about 3 ¼ hours. In fact today we could have finished faster today if had pushed the pace. Lemoore certainly isn’t a destination course but if you’re just looking for a track to get some swings in with a few clubs after a major injury then it fits the bill perfect.

I've played Lemoore a handful of times over the last couple of months and conditions aren't quite as nice as they were at the beginning of the summer but they are still fairly decent. Greens are rolling nice and all but one (#4) are in great shape. Best I’ve seen them since I’ve been playing. Fairways have started to brown up and show some thin spots but I never had a bad lie today so no complaints. Tee boxes are decent as well. Sand traps are predictable which is all you can ask for here in the valley. They have a moderate about of dirt/sand in them which usually has a crusty feel to it.

For a muni course with very reasonable rates, Lemoore fits the bill to get in an inexpensive practice round on decent conditions. Layout is nothing exciting as it’s a completely flat course. I do like the fact that I only use driver off the tee four times in the opening 11 holes.

Lemoore is not worth a special trip outside of 30 miles but recommended for sure if in the area and needing a quick inexpensive round .
