Walked the Blues (6083/69.6/116) as a single in 3.5H. Thanks to the 3 groups that let me play through! Clear and breezy conditions around 65. $15 to walk super twilight, tough walking course with all the hills. This course would remind you much more of a mountain course than a beach course. You do not expect a VERY hilly course less than a mile from the ocean. The tree lined fairways are constantly up down hills, some severely up/down. Not a tight layout and it offers some tremendous views of Morro Bay and Morro Rock. The Kikuyu tees were decent, mowed down and well maintained. The Kikuyu fairways had good coverage. Semi lush, mowed down low, they were nice to play from. The mostly Kikuyu rough was maintained low and has mostly good coverage A few hard pan areas farther off the fairways. I think #10 green side is the only sand trap. Looked decent walking by, few foot prints. The mostly smallish greens putted nice. Medium fast, relatively smooth and held approach shots well. No large tiers or mounds, but there are few straight putts and putts above the hole could be quick. There are many greens where you will have putts that break 2' to 4' if you are any distance from the hole, with the break predictably being toward the ocean. Like the par 71 layout featuring three par 5's and four par 3's. The par 3's play downhill and the par 5's play uphill, so the scorecard yardages are deceptive. Some doglegs with a couple of blind tee shots. The area in front of greens is mowed down like a links course, so everything from a putter to a lob wedge may be a viable option from 15 yards off the green. Beside and behind the greens the rough is taller. Customer service was excellent, checked in and right out to the 1st tee. No drink cart, Marshall out patrolling and friendly. Fun course, Recommended.

Walked the Blues (6083/69.6/116) in 4H with Vince in breezy conditions in the 50's. $32 to walk, tough walking course with all the hills. We occasionally waited on the walking 2some in front of us but things moved well overall. You do not expect a hilly course less than a mile from the beach. This layout would remind you much more of a mountain course than a beach course. Not tight, the tree lined fairways are constantly up down hills, some severely up/down. The tees were mostly decent, mowed down and well maintained. Both the fairways and rough had good coverage. More winter thin than lush, but they both played decently. There are only a few sand traps on the course. Was not in any, but they looked decent walking by, few foot prints. The smallish greens putted nice. Medium fast, smooth and held approach shots well. No large tiers or mounds, these greens are old school... but there are few straight putts and anything above the hole and you are in trouble on numerous greens. Really liked the greens, saw the lines well. The par 71 layout is a plus. Three par 5's, four par 3's, with all the par 3's playing downhill, so the yardages are deceptive. Played on Veteran's Day as a foursome. Our tee time was at 11:37 but when we got to the course we were informed they were running 30 minutes behind. On top of that, they were charging an 18 dollar "service fee" that I've never heard of. Our round cost us 72 bucks and I'm guessing it's because of the holiday weekend.

POP was abysmal. We waited on every shot, as the group in front of us thought they were on tour. By the time we made the turn they were a whole hole behind the group in front of them. We saw the marshall plenty but he never said anything to the group in front of us. We teed off at 12:15 and we played speed golf on 18 to finish at 5:30.

Regardless, the round was fun. Morro Bay's greens are always tricky, and the fairways provided great lies throughout the day. Some of the rough was thick in places and others it was patchy.

Tee boxes had good coverage, but some could use some leveling. The few bunkers on the course had great sand in them.

As always, the views were spectacular of the bay, and this course is always one I'll come back to, just maybe not on a holiday weekend.

It was at least a 2 club difference and it always seemed like I was hitting into wind. The surroundings and the greens are the best part of this course. Tucked into a state park with diabolical greens make this a fun track.

What a treat. I had no idea this course offered such spectacular views. The front 9 alone is worth the green fees, and truthfully, at $15 walking after 3pm. That's an insanely good deal. I read this is one of the busiest courses in the state and I get it. I feel very fortunate that it was wide open, due to Easter weekend I expect. Some reviews call it a poor man's pebble beach and I get that too. The approach shot on 9 is just surreal. 270 degree ocean views. Wow. Who knew? I didn't, but do now and will be back. Still stunned....$15.

Played 8-26 with a foursome. Got into town around 1 and teed off at 2:30pm. Course was midly populated, but we never had to wait long for a shot. Front desk was very helpful with tips on how to play the greens, which was much appreciated. As for the greens, they are absolutely diabolical. It's unreal how much the ocean plays effect on your putts. If you're putt is uphill but facing the ocean, it'll be the fastest putt you'll have all day, unless you're the poor soul like myself who is stuck with a downhill putt facing the ocean. Putts that look like they'll break left won't and will pull to the ocean. A 2 putt from 15 feet is a great feat on this course. Fairways and tee boxes were in great shape. Hard from the afternoon sun and wind. Rough is very thin but thick the greens.

Played Friday 5/16 at 11:00 am in an annual guys' weekend. Service was outstanding for our gang of 10, allowing us to play in 3 groups. The setting is beautiful with pine trees, wild animals and fantastic views of the bay. This is a fun track requiring good shots. Lots of elevation changes. For the lack of rain, the course was in good condition with lots of lush, green grass. The bunkers were filled with VERY soft, heavy sand making escapes difficult. Greens were in great shape running quickly. Everything rolls toward the bay and often seems to defy gravity. The only downside was the driving range. Although you hit off grass, the "stalls" were pretty chewed up and all were slanted creating uphill lies (for right handers)... some quite severely. The wind picked up and created a chill... bring a sweater! I'll be back.

Played 05/03 on an annual trip to the Central Coast. Course is in very good shape.
Fairways are in good shape, rough is up to about 2 inches and the greens are in great shape. Putts that roll towards the bay are lightning fast and away from the bay are very slow. Pace of play was 4 and a half hours, which was good due to the fog for the first 4 holes not being able to see more than a hundred fifty yards down the fairway. Once the fog cleared it played very fast. Will play again.

We camped at Morro Bay State Park and our backyard was Morro Bay Golf Course for 4 days. What else can be better than that but golf, right?

Customer service was good and the carts were fully juiced for the entire round

Tee Boxes - majority were level with a few exception. No bad divot or bare spots

Fairways - they were in good conditions throughout

Rough - were your normal 2-3 inches and some were thick so you really have to strike down at the ball

Greens - they were rolling true and seemed to be consistent with speed. However, due to the nature of the course as it sits near the coast, reading those greens required a bit of guessing and alot of luck. It looked downhill lie but actually uphill. You need to see how your ball reacts as it lands on your approach shots and determine which way it will break or roll

Overall...I would return if I happen to be in the area again

FYI...the fog was thick so no clear pictures of the blue Pacific Ocean
