The Hay par 3 course, putting green, and bar/restaurant is a great place to spend a few hours. Wonderful vibe, laid back, spectacular scenery. The course is fun, with mostly 50-yard holes, but a few 100-yard holes, as well. I don't believe it's worth $65, as you can get around in about 45 minutes. I received 4 free rounds after joining Pebble Beach's/Del Monte's Duke's Club, but I wouldn't spend the money, otherwise. We had just as much fun playing matches on the putting green. Loved the speakers and music surrounding the putting green.

First time playing here after the redesign by Tiger in 2021. Course looks great. Old check in shack is gone. They added a new building across the street that houses a small proshop and teaching facility.

Took the kids to play 10/8, my junior played 10/9. Check-in was fast. And starter was super nice.
Greens were very well maintained. Smooth and fast. Totally different course from previous. Some greens can be really tricky and landing in the wrong spot can make a good shot run off the green.

Rough is super tough. Heavy stuff. Bunkers were so so. My son got in one and was hardly any sand. We played off mats the first day and the juniors had an event the 2nd day off the turf. Oh and El Tigre was there too which was a big bonus.

Overall, a fun short course for the kids. Definitely a must if you are in the area. Green fees a bit stiff but hey, you are in PB.

Monterey Golf Trip: 10/6 to 10/8 Day #2 - Course #2 - The Hay

We missed Tiger by one day! He played this course the day after we played it. You can see videos online. The Hay was immaculate because we were the 2nd group out at 9:10 am. Greens were perfect, smooth and running at 10 and each hole was named after a Pebble Beach golfing icon. There were plenty of well raked sand traps. We had to tee off of mats this day; maybe they already knew the Big Cat was coming in the next day! Full Mexican restaurant onsite with 9 hole putting course for fun. Views were tremendous and a great little pitch and putt to start off your day.

Fun way to start a morning on the golf course with Alex326, rgm2525 and mpisarski01. The Hay is a very short, 9 hole, par 3 course with mostly replica green complexes of great golf shots by the greats over the years at Pebble Beach Golf Links. It’s a creative layout with beautiful views and challenging. There is a small restaurant/clubhouse called Hay’s Place as well as an awesome giant putting course with pin placements that are almost as crazy as you’ll find on The Hay Course.

One of the biggest attractions to playing The Hay course is a chance to play the replica hole of famed #7 at Pebble Beach Golf Links. And for me a chance at redemption, kind of, for the double bogey I got when I played the actual #7 at Pebble Beach GL. Well, I got a double again! – LOL – this from not going into the water but by going bunker to bunker – Love Golf.

The condition of the golf course is near immaculate as you would expect a golf course at Pebble Beach GL, especially a new course. My concern is I noticed many previous repaired ball marks and unrepaired ball marks from other golfers. That keeps up, the greens are going to become quickly very bumpy which is a shame.

The rack rate at $65 is steep IMO. It’s a very short course that takes no time to play. Also if you have a tee time on The Hay Course you are NOT entitled to use the Pebble Beach Golf Links practice facilities next door other than the awesome putting course at The Hay.

Want to Destroy any short game confidence? They come play Tiger Woods' new course at pebble beach! This 9 hole short course is a beautiful half size replica of 9 famous par 3's ranging from 50-100 yards. It may look and feel easy but wait until you get on the green and you will be met with some of the most difficult putting surfaces in the game.

Conditions are A+ as expected with a pebble beach resort course. Tees were good with only a few areas chewed up from play. They do have mats if the weather is bad. Fairways and rough 10/10 lush and green. Bunkers were soft and had plenty of sand in them. Greens were smooth quick and very fun to play on. Just accept that you will have a few 3 putts on the day.

Although pricy at $65 its worth it to try once.
