Happy to report, all is clean and playable once again. Out today and no issues with all the cleaning being done early week. Tee boxes fine; fairways fine (though some were still wet from overnight watering); rough fine/playable; sand traps clean/playable; greens are in very nice shape, after last weeks vertical cutting. Customer service excellent at all levels. I was told that next Tues June 13, there will be a big junior event with over 150 participants? Might be a good day to stay away (LOL)

Played this AM and found them aerating ALL the tee boxes and vertical cutting ALL the greens (GK does not show any maintenance so A G C did not notify GK). The poor guy in the pro shop did not even inform me of this, so I suspect he was not made aware of it (which he normally would say)? It really made for a messy 18 holes of golf. The fairways were in good shape (lol). And I was able to get in front of the aeration (slightly) on the back 9 but unfortunately, the greens had not been cut and where wet. Sand traps were all wet from overnight watering (lucky I was only in 1).

Played Sunday, 5/28/17, with kassper7 as part of our GK Cup 9 match play. We teed off around 7:00 a.m. and finished in a little over 4 hours, waiting on a few shots for the groups ahead. The course is in lush condition overall, with good grass coverage throughout from tee to green. We played the blue tees and most were fairly level except for a couple, but I don't remember which ones. The greens were in good shape; some showed signs of recovery from aeration, but it did not affect the roll. They did roll medium fast without any real bumpiness. We fixed several ball marks, but it wasn't crazy. I think we paid $35 to walk. They gave me a push cart without the $5 charge when I inquired about one, so great customer service there. Alhambra has a nice practice area, with a two-tiered range, putting, and chipping areas. Lots of fun holes with drivable par 4's and reachable par 5's.

Played at Alhambra Municipal GC on May 18th with a morning tee time of 10:00 AM for the Thursday lunch and golf special. Pace of play was extra slow and the marshall did not particularly speed it up. The pace smoothed out at the turn-around. We played the blue tees, most of the tee boxes were lush and level. Watch out on the 17th tee for errant shots from #16 as it is very easy to startle the group ahead. The fairways had good coverage while the rough was thick and sucked my ball down into impossible lies at times. Pin placements were challenging but reachable. Some Par 5's were reachable in two if you played to your strengths. Some pins were just behind green-side bunkers which elevated the level of play considerably. The green-side bunkers themselves had nice soft sand and were easy enough to get out of if you played for maximum loft. The greens were in pretty solid condition with some predictable areas of wear around popular landing zones and bunker sand. I did not hit any fairway bunkers so I cannot comment on their condition. The layout is fun for beginner and intermediate golfers who are looking to test out different shots and take some risks. I highly recommend booking this amazing $30 deal for golf, burger, fries, and a drink directly through the Alhambra website. Will definitely be back soon.

We were back out today again and POP was 3 hours. Course is in great condition right now. Greens are back in shape and chipping/putting well. Fast and consistent, especially downhill putts. Fairways are all in good shape and providing good roll and lies. Tee boxes are all in good shape. Not much rough to experience, other than what you find on some of the hillsides. Bunkers are all in good shape and playable. Customer service excellent (Thanks Pete) and food in Birdies excellent as well.

Back out today and POP was 3 hours. Course is improving each week (IMO) and the maintenance crew was hard at work again today. Greens have been verticut and are very speedy (especially from above any hole). Fairways are nice and lush, providing good lies/roll out. Traps were a little firm, due to yesterdays rain. Not much rough to speak of. Tee boxes are all fine. Great customer service at all levels.

Played today in a nice pace of 3 hours. Course has returned to good conditions from tee to greens (putting/chipping nicely). No issues with sand traps; fairways provided good lies and roll; light rough outside of fairways and great customer service at all levels. Fun and well kept course to play.

Played today in a great POP of 2.5 hours. Customer service excellent at all levels. Course has come back from aeration very nicely. All the greens are back in top shape and putting/chipping great (and fast) especially if you are following the mowers. Tee boxes in good shape; bunkers are clean/raked; fairways providing good roll and excellent lies. Nice conditions and recommended.
