Played yesterday afternoon. Suprised how quite it was and able to play all 18. Mon only front 9 open. Tues only back 9 open. Course will aerate 9/30 and 10/1. And those greens need it. Rest of the course is in good shape but it will be at least 2 weeks before the greens will be ready. Still the best rate for Sr walker with Sr card @ $18. And customer service is always good IMO.

Played this AM. Course is in good shape at the moment. There are some greens that still need healing from the heat and can effect ones putting regardless where the pin is. Tee boxes are fine. Fairways green and giving good lies and roll out. Bunkers are hit miss as some have new sand and others do not. Rough is high in some areas and will effect shots. Greens are all chipping and putting fine other than the damaged areas as mentioned. Excellent customer service in the shop and cart staff.

Played this AM. Great to see cool weather when teeing off. Course is doing well with this latest heat wave. They are keeping the course well watered. Tee boxes all playable. Fairways had good coverage, needed mowing but still provided good lies/limited roll out. Traps have improved greatly with the new sand. Rough was manageable. Greens were slow due to moisture. But you could go after pins w/o fear and that added to the number of birdies made. Great customer service from Christian and Julia as always as well as Rich in the cart barn. Still the best value for 18 holes in S CA IMO.

Played Friday. Course is not handling the hot weather well. Tee boxes are a mix of good and bad. Fairways have wet areas, ruts from carts , bare spots and some are good. Traps are a mixed bag and really really need some more sand. Greens are puttable but many of them are littered with old/dry divot marks. Might be the worse condition I have seen this course in awhile. Terrible what the hot weather will do to a course in S CA. Still as always good customer service at check in.

Played this AM. Course is very wet early AM due to recent heat wave. So not much rollout and many wet areas in addition to some soggy lies. Tee boxes are good as they are moving the tees around to avoid to much damage. Traps still need attention though they do maintain them, but the players do not. Not much if any rough to deal with and what is there is playable. Greens are coming back after some were damaged due to lack of watering and being burned. But they are kept soft so as to avoid a repeat of the damage and so they chip and putt slow. Still great customer service from all employees at every level. I won't rate this time as the conditions are not due to negligence but weather related and the need to protect the course.

Played early AM but still hot. Course is wet from watering. Many wet areas and damp fairways early in the morning. But I don't think I want to be playing any later with the current temps. Greens are OK but several have not been given enough water and are in bad shape. And with all the water they are terribly slow. Tee boxes were all fine. Traps are terrible due to watering and nothing but mud in most of them (city says sand is coming? I hope sooner rather than later). Shame what hot weather does to our municipal courses in summer. Customer service excellent. And at least Troon has continued to keep the green fees reasonable for everyone. And the POP today was horrible. Lots of new golfers and families playing but no marshal. And they are starting to let 5 somesomes out on the course again.

Played this AM. All parts of the course are in good shape other than traps and some greens. Traps need sand and early morning play gets you nothing but mud. Numerous greens have bald spots and black spots on them. Was told that Troon brought in a new greens supervisor. Customer service excellent from Mico, Julia and Rich as always. And sand is coming as I visited City of Alhambra and confirmed that they have ordered lots of sand for the course.

Teed off Friday 6/28 as a twosome joined by a single around 11:50. This place is reviewed often enough so I'll be brief. Overall good conditions. The bunkers tend to be firm, sometimes bordering on hard. The rough is good, mostly not too severe but definitely thicker in some places than usual. The greens had a nice level of quickness to them and mostly performed well. The exceptions were a few greens, starting with the sixth, that had some kind of blight on at least a portion, but was mostly avoidable when present. Due to an underlying softness, the greens generally had an uncharacteristic amount of pitch mark scarring and sometimes required repair work on your line. Mostly cosmetic, they were still enjoyable to putt on. Anything not specifically mentioned, (tees, fairways, etc.) were all good. Busy and seeming to start out a little slow, we actually got around in a little over four hours. Atypical minor issues aside, it was quite enjoyable.

Played this AM at sunrise in 2 H. My posts of June 7 and 12 are still valid but in both I spoke about the greens. The greens today are closer to the June 7 review. Whatever they have done in under a week is working. Today they were (not all) firmer and putted much better than on the 12th. Glad to see the much needed improvement. Now if we can get the City of Alhambra to provide some funds for sand (before we become like the old Montebello) that would be great. Again as always great customer service at all levels from all employees.
